Description of Work: They replaced a brick wall on my driveway. It went very well once they came. They were delayed in coming due to all of the rain we had. He said they were behind due to the weather. They came & did everything in 1 day. Also they matched the brick up to the other wall.

Description of Work: They fixed the cracks in our bluestone patio and walkway. They also poured an aggregate walkway at the back of our house. |Alan was very helpful in helping me decide what kind of walkway to put in. He gave me several estimates on the different ways we could do the walkway - even recommending a way that made less money for himself. He was actually more picky than I was about planning the final product. His men were pleasant and easy to work with.

 + 0 moreAllan was awesome. He returned my call quickly and was out to give me an estimate within 48 hours. He then emailed me a written estimate that covered everything we talked about with the price. He came out on the designated day with one of his workers and the job was handled quickly. He took great care to match the bricking and the mortar. He put down a heavy duty tarp to protect the work overnight. He returned the next day to do the acid wash which cleaned the stairs and concrete porch are very nicely. Allan requested payment in cash versus check or credit card and provided a receipt on the spot when the money was given.
Description of Work: I had several cracks that had formed in the bricking of my steps leading into the front of my house. One brick was completely cracked. Allan advised the following needed to be done: grind out and retuck cracked or missing mortar joints. An one brick needed to be completely replaced and then the entire area washed down with mild acid to clean away dirt that had formed from normal wear and tear.

 + 1 moreWe have a raised concrete patio/deck covered with slate tile that was not properly sloped when it was originally poured. Consequently, every time it rained, we ended up with a lake in the middle of the patio. My husband figured out that the only way to fix this was to install a drain through the concrete slab and into the gravel pad below. It was an unusual request, but Allan was willing to make it work. He did all the research and found a square drain that would look nice on the bluestone tile we have, carefully cut out the tile pieces, drilled through the concrete slab and installed the drain. Allan was wonderful to work with - very professional and willing to try something different to help us solve the problem without having to take off our back porch.

 + 1 morePatios and walkways needed tuck pointing. Various tints of mortar were required and matching existing color was my paramount concern. Successful in some areas not successful in others. Al was prompt, attentive and worked very hard to satisfy. When I expressed concern about a portion of the job, he completely redid it. On the portions where he tore out all existing mortar and installed new, the work was exceptional! We had problems with matching the mortar in some areas, and that is my only issue with the job. Al was a true professional and a gentleman to deal with. His skills in masonry are excellent.

 + 0 moreThis company bid on the project, helped me design what I wanted, did the job meticulously and the handwork was absolutely professional. They showed up on time. They stayed on the job until it was done.They saw something not related to the invoice that needed to be done and did it for free. They are reliable, not expensive for the work performed, and have the expertise to make the job even better than you will imagine.They do things in accordance with code, even if the original builders did not follow code. It was the most relaxing job I have ever had done by a contractor, from a customer point of view. This is the type of contractor you can hire and just wait until it's done. No worries. Total cleanup. Neighbors are now touring my front steps. smile
Description of Work: This company drilled out existing mortar and replaced it. They replaced the stoop cement slab and came up with a really decorative way to border it with matching bricks. Apparently, the original builders did not follow code in building the stoop, so they ran into many issues. No price increase for me. They had to lay an extra dozen rows of brick around the stoop due to the failure of the original builders to follow code. No price increase for me, even though that wasn't part of the original job. Some replacement bricks were expected. But the rows of brick laying were done for the invoice price. They also arranged for a new railing to be installed to replace the existing wrought iron railing. It's aluminum coated with black and is better than the builders quality railing I had on there before. 50% of the total cost was for the railing. Total steps repaired is ten (many had to have replacement bricks) plus the stoop. The entrance to my home looks first class now.
