We are happy with the product, but upset at the final price. We feel that it was unethical for him not to tell us the real cost before he did the job and delivered the product. .
Description of Work: "Dan" came out on Tuesday and gave us an extimate (build a platform for flower pots) $300 to $400. Dan called and said he would start the project on Wednesday. He then called back and said that he would complete the work over the weekend (6/12/11). He delivered the platform 6/17/11 and gave us a bill for $630. It was two to three hundred dollars over the estimated price. His bill as stated; purchese materials, fabricate, deliver 5'x5' rolling plant platform" 2 men 3 1/2 hrs each = 7 hrs ($70/lb) $490.00 materals 140.00 total $630.00 We have no argument with the quality of work, but what amounts to a wooden pallet on wheels seems a little much. We had Dan out to go over our wish list and provide an estimate. We had to cut back our list due to our financial situation, but had him out to fix the stuff we wanted done right away. He is a very small business so it was a little different experience than other contractors we worked with in that he gave us an hourly rate versus formal estimate. Also he wanted us to research the materials for one of our projects which I felt I might be lacking the expertise to do. We decided to hold off on the original enhancement type projects we had planned in order to do the repairs to the ceiling and door. Dan came out on a Saturday morning and fixed the bow in our ceiling which had been making us nervous. He also was able to make adjustments to the door frame for the door to a bedroom to be able to close. He did a good job in a reasonable amount of time and cleaned up after himself nicely. Our overall impression is that he is a creative and detailed oriented guy and seems to know what he is doing. We would like to have him back for projects in the future.
Description of Work: Fixed a bow in our living room ceiling and a got a bedroom door to be able to open and close properly. Did a good job.

Dan came out immediately to do the estimate, but we were unable to proceed immediately due to the fact that we needed to replace our bath fan first before he did his drywall work in the bathroom and the electrician wasn't available for another week. He was able to come out after that, and was very thorough in all his work, including moving furniture and cleaning up drywall/putty scraps. The job took 1.5 days longer than expected due to the bath fan not being properly installed (he had to fix it) and the drywall mud not drying as quickly as expected. However, he did not charge us extra time for any of this. Overall, I was very happy with the quality of the services provided for the price, we'd definitely use Dan again for other home repair items.

He does good, quick, and sensible work. When he was able to use lumber that we had around, he used that instead of buying more. He did quite a neat job.
Description of Work: Dan Huber put flooring in our attic so that we could put insulation under the flooring and end up with 14 inches of protection.
