Everything went smoothly, from the initial phone call to the move itself. Eddie is helpful and knowledgeable, and the prices are more than reasonable. The movers showed up on time (a little early, in fact) and were courteous and efficient. I highly recommend this company! The entire process was great.

Excellent service. The company always communicated the details of the service ahead of time and then completely fulfilled it. The men working were extremely helpful, very respectful of our furniture and our home and worked hard to be careful and safe. A terrific experience.

From the initial call to the end of the job, Fortis was outstanding. This was for a commercial property in which I had already reached out to 3 other moving companies (JK Moving, Two Men and a Truck, and Mighty Movers). We initially arranged for JK Moving to bring the furniture to our location but even after providing them with specific height and weight details, they changed the pricing literally 2 hours prior to the move start time. And they still had the furniture. Eddie from Fortis listened and assessed the situation, and coordinated a phenomenal team to pick up the furniture from JK Moving and on to our location, up a dozen flights of stairs, due to lack of sufficient elevator service. Prior to calling Fortis, everything that could go wrong, did. And after calling Fortis, for some coincidental reason, everything went smoothly and they were able to complete the job that others couldn't, in a timely manner that others wouldn't, and at a reasonable price that they did not change 2 hours before the start time. A special thanks to Eddie for going above and beyond in keeping communication open, no matter what time of day. He worked tirelessly to make sure the job was done accurately and efficiently. Bravo to Eddie and the Fortis team! They receive my highest recommendation based on my overall experience.

We had a fantastic experience with Fortis moving. We were moving from a suburban, 4-bedroom home into a 2-bedroom condo in DC. That made things complicated: some furniture went to the condo, some went to storage, some trash went to the dump. Eddie took all of my requests in stride, adjusting the quote each time I came back to him with a different request. In the end, the movers packed us up one day, took stuff to the dump and then on moving day, took some boxes and furniture to storage and the rest to the condo. The movers themselves were friendly, efficient, hard-working and good at what they did. The price was fair, and we marveled at how accurately Eddie had predicted the number of hours it would take. The price he quoted was almost exactly to the penny. In this Covid-era when shipping and moving seems very screwed up, Fortis is the exception. They were on time every time and there was no drama. I would highly recommend them for a move in the DC area.

I was a bit apprehensive at first, since I have had problems in the past, but Eddie put me at ease. He was a joy to work with, flexible, and very helpful - he even offered me a senior discount. What waa estimated was fair, reasonable, and what it ultimately cost - no hidden charges.The movers were fantastic! They were on time, friendly, professional, careful, coordinated, and efficient. On every level I received quality service and I unreservedly will recommend them to anyone who needs movers.

The movers were courteous, professional and ready to work. They handled my items and furniture with care and respected my property. Everything was packed with precision. From the get go Eddie was great to deal with and plan my move. He was very helpful and we went through each room so he could asses my move. The crew that showed up the morning of the move was beyond good, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, humorous, efficient, used extreme care for my items, and a very hard working group. I’m very pleased with the whole experience and if I ever move again (hopefully not) will it hesitate to call on Fortis Movers again. Definitely 10 star rating if that were a thing!!!

The movers where great! Showed up on time and finished early. They where also very flexible and helpful with putting the boxes in the correct rooms.

I would definitely recommend Fortis Moving company. They showed up exactly on time and the work was completed quickly and with great care to ensure nothing was broken. They took extra care to make sure that all of the correct items were removed and that nothing was accidentally left out. All workers were exceedingly professional. The work was completed quickly and I would highly recommend this company to anyone.
