I bought a Hustler sport from this dealership last year. The mower is still under warranty and 2 weeks ago, the engine starting blowing white smoke when the blades were engaged, there was also a small oil leak around the head gasket. I called and spoke with the mechanic at the dealership and he advised that he would need to replace the head gasket. I live approx. 1 1/2 away from the dealership, I took the mower to the dealership and asked the mechanic to also service the mower, i.e. change oil & filter, replace blades, change air and fuel filter. I dropped the mower off on Monday 9/4. My brother in law picked up the mower on Saturday 9/14/13 after I received a call from the mechanic stating the mower was fixed. The total bill was $180.00. I started the mower today, 9/17/13 and engaged the blades, the engine immediately began to blow white smoke and cut out. I called the mechanic and told him what was going on and he said that he had service the mower and changed the oil filter, but had not fixed the head gasket because he was wanted to save me the trouble. The mower is still under warranty and there would have been no cost to me to fix the head gasket, therefore no trouble for me. The mechanic wanted to save himself the trouble and the dealership the cost. I now have to take the mower back so the mechanic can fix what he was supposed to fix in the first place. I would never recommend this dealership or the repair shop. My father had a similar experience when he took his chainsaw to Southwest Outdoor Power Equipment. The mechanic was supposed to put a carberator kit in his chainsaw and charged him as if he had. When the chainsaw still did not work, my father took it to another local dealership and the mechanic advised the carberator had never been removed and a new kit had not been put in the chainsaw.
Description of Work: The provider was supposed to replace the head gasket on the engine. The mower is still under warranty.
