 + -1 moreWe had two chandeliers installed; one was more than 15 feet up in the foyer. The team did an outstanding job -- even when we discovered we were missing a crucial piece. They helped us locate where to get the piece and never missed a beat. They also installed a dimmer. We are extremely please with the results. Purcellville Electric performed first rate work at a fair price. We would definitely call them again!

The electrician who came to our house was fast and efficient and braved a two story latter on a cold January day. Was very happy with the experience all the way around and highly recommend.
Description of Work: The electrician repaired a broken ceiling fan, a broken outlet, reversed wiring on a bad plug, and repaired two floodlights.

Description of Work: I recently purchased a 115 year old house that had been "completely renovated". When I went to replace a light fixture no one I knew was able to figure out the wiring. Purcellville Electric came out and spent severa hours trying to figure it out. They managed to get the lights to work, but not really the way they were supposed to. On his own time, the technician built a circuit board and was able to finally figure out what the previous electrician had done. He came back and fixed the switch so that the lights work properly, FREE OF CHARGE. No other company would have taken the time and effort to figure out what was going on once the lights were working again. I would most definitely recommend Purcellville Electric to anyone who asked!!

They were prompt, professional, and communicative once I was able to speak with them. My only complaint is they never picked up the phone--had to leave a message, which they returned same day.

Description of Work: Replaced breakers in panel box and re-attached a severed line to the clothes dryer. The key is that they could have tried to up-sell for the job but did not. They determined that breaker replacement was safe and all that was needed.

 + -1 moreMike came out for a consultation and then followed up with a crew to do the work. They did nice, clean work and installed a transfer switch down at our barn so that we can hook to a generator should we lose power for an extended period of time. It is imperative that this works seamlessly as no power means that the horses will not have water. They installed and tested everything and we are set for the next power outtage!

 + -1 moreAs usual, the owner of Purcellville Electric came by soon after I called to review the job, ask questions, point out potential problems. We agreed that I would call again after the fixtures were delivered to set an install date. The fixtures arrived and three days later two electricians arrived as promised by 8:30 a.m. and set to work. Working steadily, they completed the job in just under 8 hours. Where they found some sub-standard wiring in our house, they upgraded or developed in-code workarounds. The amusing part was the under-cabinet lighting, which required some physical gymnastics and more time than I expected. We have used this company for larger and smaller jobs in the past and always found them to be quite satisfactory.
Description of Work: We replaced the majority of the ceiling light fixtures throughout our three-story home (all hallways, finished basement entertainment center, dining room, kitchen, under-cabinet lighting, dining room and family room), which involved several custom-deign fixtures, track lighting, etc. We provided all of the fixtures, but several required special wiring and installation.

 + -1 moreFor a year I had a problem with a back room in which none of the plugs worked. I changed the breakers and nothing changed. I had a friend who said he knew electric stuff go over it. He failed also. I feared a bigger problem and put off any repair and ran extension cords into that space. When I finally called P'ville Electric, they sent over 2 young men who quickly ran through the possibilities and changed one plug and tightened a bunch of screws and that was it: Two guys, less than an hour, only $70. Did I feel foolish for having waited? You betcha. THey even put up an overhead light fixture that I had been afraid to touch, at no extra charge!

 + -1 moreWork was top notch from start to finish. Great care was taken and attention to detail is evident. Not a single mistake was made in the wiring or movement of circuits. Everything was carefully labelled before moving any wires. One experienced electrician and a helper were there every day for about a week. The job took longer than originally estimated but I had no problem with that. I was happy to see the electrician taking his time and doing things right rather than rushing and doing a sloppy job in the process. Helper even saved the strips of sod from the trench and put them back after trench was filled. Job passed Loudoun County inspection with no problem. Generator worked perfectly the first time.
Description of Work: Wiring to install a 12 KW Generac generator and 200A automatic transfer switch, including load shedding modules. Added a sub-panel to support additional generator loads. Hand-dug about 10 ft of 18" deep trench from house to generator pad. Ran separate conduits for power and control signals from ATS to generator. Moved about 15 circuits from the non-generator load center to generator load center. Installed four DLM modules for large loads. Had to run a new 200A feed from the meter to the ATS and 200A feed from the ATS to the main generator load center. Note this project did not include delivery of generator, placement of generator, or any startup/testing of generator. This was strictly an electrical job.

 + -1 moreI like them. I've used them before in 2004 and they did the whole house wiring and it was about $20,000. Their pricing is reasonable. This is a very expensive area. They do very good quality work. Their staff is excellent. I will definitely use them again.
