+ -1 moreZero customer service Zero responsiveness When I was due for an inspection I called McKim multiple times and left messages and never received a return call. I contacted a different company. During the inspection they found the electric box was allowing moisture in. The moisture blew out the electric board and a motor. It cost me nearly $2k to make the repairs. I was told the problem should have been caught during the inspection. McKim inspected and maintained the system for years per the county records prior to the move inspection. I asked to be present during the move inspection and McKim refused the request. McKim said they would provide a free walk around and explanation of the septic system. Needless to say this commitment was never fulfilled. It seems that McKim has a bad reputation in the area. I have not heard one good comment when I share my experience.
Description of Work: McKim provided a septic inspection before I moved in. They were used by the previous homeowners.

+ -1 moreWe recommended them to somebody else too and they just recently do them and they were excellent. They were excellent. We don't have any unexpected issues with them. They were great. I would use them again in the future.

Description of Work: We used McKim for county-required septic inspections in 2009 and 2010. In 2009 we also had them perform a routine spetic cleaning. Last year, they replaced a pump adaptor. I started called in April to get our inspection scheduled for this year. After weeks of leaving messages, I finally gave up and hired another company. When that company came to perform the inspection today, they found several problems with our septic. Either during the repair last year, or during the routine cleaning in 2009, McKim broke the pump handle on our septic, and failed to clean the filter. This almost lead to a serious problem. Thankfully, we now have someone who knows what they are doing, and is willing to be honest. Problems sometimes happen during repairs, and I wish McKim had just been honest about breaking the handle on our septic pump. I would have happily paid them to fix it, had they just been honest. I also have a problem with the fact that they never returned my calles. Obviously, they remembered that they had broken something in the past, and did not want to return to our house. Do not use this company for any septic work, whether routine cleaning, installation, repairs or inspection.
