Description of Work: From the moment I contacted Ryan Rice with Shutter Pro via internet to when the job was completed, I was impressed with the him. My husband and I were looking to have plantation shutters put in the windows of our home downstairs with blinds upstairs. One evening, I emailed several Richmond, VA contractors who installed shutters. Some contractors returned my inquiries with email, others with phone calls, some didn't respond at all. Ryan contacted me right away the next day and persisted (without being annoying) until we were able to catch up with one another. He was flexible with when he could come to give me an estimate. When he came, Ryan was quick, thorough, and professional. He brought beautiful pictures of homes where he'd intalled windown treatments. He also brought samples with varying colors, sizes, and types. We walked around the house together and I told him what I wanted. After we were done, he sat at the kitchen bar while I ate lunch with the kids and wrote up a reasonable estimate. I discussed it with my husband that evening, confirmed we would use him, he asked for half of the estimate and said it would be able 6 weeks before they would arrive and be installed. They came at about 5 weeks. Yet again, Ryan was super prompt and worked with our schedules. He came one afternoon and installed all of the plantation shutters as well as blinds while not leaving a mess behind and doing a great job. The blinds and shutters look beautiful. He is a true professional all around. I'd use Ryan and Shutter Pro again if needed and would recommend him to anyone looking for window treatments.

Description of Work: Installed shutters on multiple windows

Description of Work: Mr. Rice came out and measured the den window to be covered. My home was built in the 50's and this was a large picture window and I did not want cheap mini blinds. He installed the first window and I asked him to come back and do rooms as I could afford them. The dining room and the master bedroom shutters were installed in a way that frame parts were far inside the window and frame parts were quite a bit outside the window. I asked that he return and fix them to be more flush and he took his time returning. He was upset that I didn't understand that the windows were not square and that it was "virtually impossible" to fix the window issue. He spend about two hours on the attempted fixes and I was satisfied that he had done the best he could as he explained the un-squareness of the older windows and told him I would call him again to order and install the next bedroom. When I called back to set up an install (he had previously measured the rooms) he told me NO, that he would not do that room as I had complained to him about his previous work and he had to come out for a "repair" some of them so he would not do anymore shutters for me. I did not require, as part of the repair, that he replace the shutters, only adjust them to fit more flush to the window opening. I was shocked at his attitude. Not only will I not call him again, I would like to share my experience so that other people who might want to use him will know what happened to me.
