He rescheduled twice, however he did allowed us to use our Military Discount at Home Depot, but was late when he finally did show up, without his helper. Then, he went to work. Didn't finish the job the first day, but handled 90% of the job. Told my husband he would be back to finish up on Monday, when he would finish installing the garage cabinet and paint the closet. He came back on Monday with his helper. He asked my husband for additional items on the list to complete, (which we did have more) at 1:00, which my husband was not going to hire him for. He then handed my husband a bill for $$796.00. He was charging my husband over $300 to paint a small closet. My husband was working on the phone, and wanted him out of the house. My husband actually wrote him the check for $796.00, which we tried later to tell him that is not what we agreed upon. It was for a complete closet. I left a message for him, we stopped payment and the check, wrote him and new check, which he immediately cashed, and that is when our problems began. He began to threaten legal action. He sent us very harassing letters, charged us interest, and argued about things that were simply not true. He is not an "Economy Handyman." When we did go to court, the judge found the case to be in our favor. Mr. Watson simply over exaggerates on the bill and then triple charges his customers to get them to pay more money in the end. This is the reason why my husband and I joined Angie's List! Never again will we hire a Handyman without checking them
Description of Work: Agreed to a list of handyman projects. He came out to our home and gave us an free estimate. This included installing a complete closet, installing a door, thermostat, and a shelf in the garage. It was a 2 man job, roughly he said 15 hours.
