Had to order the part. Still fine-tuning but in process.

All day to complete. They had an helper. It was good. They were honest. The air conditioner was broke, and it needed to be replaced. It was fifteen years old, so it was old.

FYI: FYI I got referred to him by a plumber I had found on Angies list with whom I was so pleased I called him for additional work. I thought Ivalued this plumbers opinion a lot so called Mr Rushing. He arrived when expected. He has many years axperience and went about fixing the problem right away. He added freon and said that I would probably need additional repair to this unit, and it would probably be the air handler that was leaking. He said he would see if a part was available for this year and model of exquipment and call me in a few weeks by which time he could better evaluate any leakage problem. His price was less than I expected as I had previously been told that since no leak could be found it must be in the pipe that went through the wall so the wall would need to be opened up. Another professional company came out, checked for leaks inside and outside, put a couple of pounds of freon in, and charged me $600.00. I was concerned about getting abused again so asked everyone I know for referrals. I finally decided that Don Furlong of Portsmouth Plumbing Supply was the person whose advice I would take. I think that if you know someone who is very good in one ascpect of home repair and maintenence, that person probably knows who is reliable, competent, and honest in other areas of home maintenance and repair. Now I feel like I and quot;have connectionsand quot;, if anything else needs to be done. This is very important for an elderly person on a limited income. I am just so pleased with this service provider.

There was a birds nest stuck in the vent escaping the house. They found that and were able to remove it, which stopped the dryer from overheating. They were very thorough and I was happy they were able to find the problem. They were only here for an hour so I felt the price was a little high for that short time.

When they replaced the capacitor, it blew out again one week later. We called them and they weren't immediately available but came out a couple days later and replaced it for free. They used a nicer capacitor the second time to prevent it from blowing again and I felt they should have done that the first time. The guy tried to talk me into replacing the whole system, which was not needed.

They do fantastic work. We've had them replace an A/C unit, a condenser, convert us from oil to gas heat, and lots of other projects. When we've called for emergency service, he's been right there. He is honest and tells us when something can be repaired rather than replaced. We just keep calling him because he does great work.
