Mr. Vaughan arrived early to complete the 2nd job for me and my family today. However, he was courteous enough to notify me he was running about 20 minutes ahead of schedule and asked permission to come early. The first job I asked him to do some work at my office. He did a great job there and impressed me so much that I asked him to do some work on my father?s house. He came in clean cut with a smile on his face (again). I had 3 small projects I wanted to complete: repairs on the wall of the stairwell (damage from moving furniture), a little bit of water damage from a leaky faucet on the 2nd level, and a giant crack in the middle of the living room ceiling. He evaluated each request and quickly went to work on the stairwell first. There were a couple rooms I decided to close off for privacy reasons and I was happy to see he did not enter (or even inquire) about the closed doors on the second level of Mom and Dad?s house. I should note, given my first experience with Mr. Vaughan, that I was not surprised by this at all. He worked quickly and quietly on the stairwell (I had no trouble concentrating while reading the paper). While it was drying, he evaluated the ceiling with water damage and recommended I take some precautions to ensure the leak has been fixed before he charges me money to fix the drywall. Then, he went to the living room and made some recommendations before he does that work as well. He then went back to the stairwell to finish up. He discussed how to prepare the wall for painting and which primers to use during the final phase of the project. Then he cleaned up (though there was not much to cleanup). Overall, I was extremely happy and he exceeded my expectations, again. I should also note: he passed the ?sniff test? with my mother?s dog. She is an older dog and barks at everyone she deems a threat but she did not bark at Mr. Vaughan despite him bringing tools into the house. If you knew Mom's dog, you would understand why this is noteworthy. She has excellent instincts? I will bring him back to complete the 2 smaller jobs at Dad?s house, and then get him started on a much bigger job: the Mancave! I am careful about getting people to work on Mom and Dad?s house but I have no reservations about Mr. Vaughan?s abilities as a craftsman or his honesty and integrity as a businessman. He earned that by (temporarily) turning down work I was prepared to have done today. Thank you, Mr. Vaughan and I?ll see you soon!

He got there 8 minutes ahead of schedule and was kind enough to wait for me as I was running a little late. He came in (clean cut) and made sure he would not damage my antique lamps. He got started right away and was able to keep the noise level down very low so I could continue working without any interference. He finished up and despite having a bucket of water, a bag joint compound, and everything else that goes along with patching a wall I did not have to vacuum after he left. He was careful but also had plenty of mats down to catch any mistakes. He came back later in the day (again, at an agreed upon time) and sanded everything down after it was dry and left without a mess (again). However, before he left I went ahead and hired him to fix some problems at my Dad's house. Needless to say, I was very pleased with his work. From his punctuality, personal appearance, professionalism, and craftsmanship, to his gentle mannerism. He's just a nice guy who takes pride in doing excellent work. I recommend JL for you and your family without any reservations.

Mr. Vaughan was punctual and professional. If he said he would be here at 9:00 am, he was here. He cleaned up after his work and wasn't rushed. He discussed with me when to paint, acceptable primers and sealers to use and many post job ideas. I will absolutely use this company again and discussed future work on my home.

It is with pleasure to write this review for Lark D Drywall LLC. JL Vaughan has completed work for us at to two different homes – one larger job and one smaller. His extreme attention to detail was the same for both jobs. He was punctual to his estimated time of arrival, professional and friendly. When he left, everything was clean and there was no debris left behind and you would not even know he had been there other than seeing his excellent work! We will contact JL for future projects as they develop, and certainly do recommend Mr. Vaughan for your drywall needs. If there was an “AAA” rating, Lark D Drywall would get the elevated “AAA” from us.

He's a pretty cool guy, he came out when he said he'd come and he did good work and he wasn't too pricey for me. I had a leak on my ceiling so he fixed it.

It went well - I am very pleased with the work - looks great, exactly what I was hoping for! I was worried about waviness/sag due to the odd peaked textured ceiling we were covering up but his crew did an awesome job. Work was done very quickly [<2 days] and they were very accommodating to our odd work/class schedule.

He is a stand-up guy and I will kick him my future business for certain. Look, I had the work done in November and am just now adding the review because the work was solid and I owe him a review. I first contacted J R in October 2013 for an estimate. I was not ready then but was getting an idea of how much money I needed. He told me he was coming Friday, but showed up Monday..that was ok. He looked at my ceiling and gave me the estimate. I contacted him again in February to let him know I was ready. I was a bit worried b/c he said the price may be higher as a result of the materials. However, he kept the price the same. Once a date was set, I prepped with plastic the night before and text him to let him know that. JR showed up when he said he would and began the work. He told me we did a good job prepping but he did a bit more. He told me to cut off my heating system as he did not want all the dust from the plaster removal and sanding to go through my system. i was glad he told me that. It took approximately 3 days. One day to remove the plaster and put up the drywall and insulation, another day to puddy, the the last day to sand. All three days he was prompt and professional. I was pleased with the work. Before he left, he told me if I had any problems with the drywall when the painter comes to paint just to let him know. I would hire JR again for all and any of my drywall needs. He also gave me some recommendations for other work that i am going to have done in my home.

They were efficient, clean and did a great job. They were friendly and professional.

Lark D Drywall was impeccable through out the process. Timely with their promised times of arrival, Great value for cost. The owner (who owned this project from beginning to end) and his crew were professional efficient and the finished product was outstanding. I am a construction manager and have built-out numerous commercial high-rise and industrial sites. Their product outshines most huge drywall contractors I deal with on a regular basis and I can just about guarantee that they will do the right job for you at the right price. Thanks guys !

I'm very pleased with JL's work and his professional, friendly manner. He was able to come out pretty quickly to do an estimate. There was a couple of weeks' lag time before he could perform the work because his business is hopping right now. But I was in no rush. He completed the work in a timely manner, was personable and considerate of not making too much of a mess, and seems to have done a great job repairing the cracks. He also made the kind offer to do a little extra work at the end of his time here to help with another problem I pointed out, even though we hadn't discussed it when he came for the estimate. Lark D did an excellent job and was a pleasure to work with. Communications, promptness and professional workmanship were all top notch. I would recommand them to anybody and I would not hesitate to use them again.

JL was very responsive and came to give me a quote the same day I called him and had the work done just over a week later. JL patched the drywall on two skylight chutes that had weathered over time and had been slightly damaged when a new roof was installed. The work looked great and JL's price was very competitive. I'd definitely use him again.

I am very pleased in my decision to have JL and his company put up the walls and ceilings in my unfinished basement. He was very pleasant to work with as well as always timely and professional. On top of that he was also very competitive in his pricing. He was great about communicating expectations and what was next. We had a hole in the ceiling from an upstairs plumbing leak. I thought the whole ceiling would need to be replaced. Jl was able to come same day I called to look at our problem and called with an estimate the following day. Scheduled work to be done the next week and he was able to fit us in. Kept excellent communication and let us know change in his arrival time right away. Was very easy to work with. Job was done in one day and came the following day to finish up and sand which took max 2 hours. We ended up not having to replace the entire ceiling so he saved us some money and the job was less than the estimate. Was very nice and did excellent work.

We are remodeling out entire downstairs of our house. We normally do all of the work ourselves. However, we knew we couldn’t finish the drywall as good as a professional. I can tell you we put up the drywall sheets not the best ways. We called JL, he came to our home looked at the work and within a couple of days called me with a quote. However, it was no problem from JL and his team. We were also kind of in a hurry to get the drywall done so we could install the new floors. Even though JL gave us a two week lead time. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call a few days later from JL stating he was able to start the work a week early. They showed up on time both days and completed all of the work. JL and his team are great guys. They are very nice and professional. The work looks GREAT!! I recommend JL and his team on any of your drywall projects.

JL came early and finished quickly. The ceiling repair is seamless and matches perfectly.

From the initial phone request for a estimate to the completion of the drywall repair, everything went smoothly. Contractor was punctual, professional, and delivered as promised. Repair looks fabulous.

This was our first use of Angie’s list after having a bad experience with a different contractor. JL is listed first in drywall work for a reason. Easy to work with, reasonably priced, and (this is very important) put up with the craziness in our house. That includes dogs, family members wandering in and out, and of course me always checking up on him. We are actually doing two different projects simultaneously. JL worked with the other contractor to coordinate and keep the jobs on track. He also kept the fallout to a minimum. We have had other contractors leave a trail of mess behind. Not so with Lark D. We of course recommend him, and would never use anyone else again for this type of work.

JL Vaughn was very professional, he responded to phone calls and emails in very timely manner and always arrived at agreed upon time. I have only respect for his personal professionalism. His crew arrived as scheduled and put the drywall up with amazing speed. The next evening a crew came and did the taping and mudding. They did an excellent job. Here's the however... they left a monumental mess of joint compound on my hardwood floors in living room and tile floor in kitchen and a gob or two on carpet. I know that drywalling can be messy especially when sanding but this was during the mudding process. I had several drop clothes on the back porch and would gladly have spread them out if I had known what a disaster this project would create. I have spent hours and still have not been able to get up all the residue. JL, please, spend $8 and buy the guys some drop cloths. The sanding process was today and that was easily vacuumed. Overall I am thrilled with the results. My kitchen looks wonderful and the living room ceiling has never looked so nice since we bought the house 7 years ago. I can't wait to start painting - I will use the drop cloth :-) Had it not been for my floors I would give this job an A+ but I am really feeling the backache from scrubbing and mopping. I would use this company again and would recommend them to friends and neighbors.

The contractor started Monday morning at 8:30am and finished sanding the entire room by 4:00pm Wednesday that week. There were a few minor spots to touch up at the inspection, which were fixed then. Overall it was a fine job and I was pleased with the outcome. I got three estimates for the job and chose this contractor who was the middle of the three estimates. His professionalism and personality are what sold me on this contractor. Very pleasant to work with and accommodating. I will use this contractor again if I need drywall performed. He also does pressure washing the siding on homes - I have him scheduled to do that once the weather gets warm.

Mr. Vaughan arrived promptly both for the estimate and the repair. He was very professional at the introduction and was very respectful of me and my house. He was careful in his work and did an excellent job with the repair. He cleaned up after finishing and told me to call him if there were any problems. I did call him the next day, because it appeared that there was a crack in the mud. He told me he would be by the next day, but I found that the mud only needed to dry a little more. He was very willing to follow up. Excellent work!

Lark D came out for an estimate on time and looking professional. He gave us a quick quote and worked with our holiday schedule to make sure work would get done within the time that we had available. He again showed up on time and completed the work on time.Everything looks great. He was able to match the texture of our ceiling and even did more than what was in the scope of work. We will use Lark D Drywall again for anything drywall related. It truly was great working with him. Contacting him by email or phone was easy and always with a fast response. A+ contractor!
