Gerry and his team did an excellent job. We got several bids and reviewed Angie's list before deciding Pro Deck Installers. Gerry provided a good bid and he displayed a genuine interest in our project. We ultimately felt Gerry would stand by his work and ensure things went well and the project did go very well. He worked side by side with his team on all aspects of the project from excavating dirt for the concrete slab to reviewing the final touches on the project. A couple times during the project, we had to call an "audible" (everything from an inspector requiring us to add a full length continuous rail to our deck stairs railing to Gerry agreeing to excavate another six inches of dirt for the concrete slab). We discussed the situation and came to a reasonable solution. Gerry's staff worked the project from start to finish and they were excellent craftsmen and very nice and polite. I highly recommend Gerry and his team. When doing projects like these, I think it's important to remember that you have to be flexible in your plans and realize what looks nice on paper may require some adjustments once construction begins. For example, excavating dirt for a concrete slab is much harder then it sounds. Six inches of packed clay in a 11 x 14 foot space translates into a very big dirt pile approx 10' L x 10' W x 3'H - dirt really expands when you dig it up. This also means you need to prepare for adjusting your budget once you realize how much extra work this is. Gerry also looked at our plans and gave us recommendations (having the deck stairs go the opposite way from our original plan) based on his expertise - all of which worked out. Finally, he stands by his work. We have the underdecking system under the deck and although his team tested it for leaks during construction, a couple leak areas popped up once real weather (like continuous hard rain) starting hitting the deck. Gerry's team came in and made the right adjustments to resolve the issues.

I set up an appointment with Gerry to get an estimate to replace our front porch. He was supposed to come between 9-10AM on Friday morning. I called him at around 9:40 because I had to leave, and my husband was going to take over but didn't want to be waiting all day since he needed to get to work. Gerry had completely forgotten about our appointment. I did appreciate his honesty, but my husband and I had made special arrangements to be home at this time, and to have him flake was extremely upsetting.v

I met with the owner I think at least three times. Although I did not use them, the ideas for saving costs I got from them savced me lots of money and I am forevere grateful.

They were meticulous, cleaned up every single day before they left and Jerry the owner was incredibly engaged in the entire process. he made sure all permits and everything were taken care of. We were very happy with what they did. Everything is definitely holding up.

We spent $7,000 on the job. We used them after we got a referral from a neighbor and checking them out on Angie’s List. We were very pleased with them from the beginning of the deck project until the end. We were initially going to keep supports; replacing the railing, floor, and stairs. However, Jerry pointed out that we might be making a mistake as the board that was bolted to the side of the house may have rotted on the backside. He mentioned that we might be putting a deck possibly on rotted wood or wood in poor condition. The cost benefit was to replace them. We knew our deck was very old. So, we went with Jerry’s advice and sure enough, we had rotted wood between the two floor levels. His team was able to repair it and we now have a solid deck. We thought Jerry was extremely knowledgeable, presented us with all the information required to make an informed decision. He never tried to ‘upsell’ us. He did the work for the contracted amount. When it became necessary to remove and replace the rotted wood, he gave us a fair price. It was very good experience. We will use this company again in the future.

I did not use Angie's List to find Pro Decks. They were replacing several decks in our condo area, and I was impressed with the workmanship. Gerry, came out in May 2011 to give estimate and took care of all code requirements, drawings, etc. Completed deck in about 3 days in August. Did a terrific job ! We have a very sturdy and beautiful deck. His crew worked fast and was very proficient.

ProDeck met all of our expectations and more. Gerry, the owner, was very involved in overseeing the project from start to finish. His crew was punctual, did the work correctly and clean up was meticulous. Gerry is an honest and fair contractor and it was a pleasure working with him.

From estimate to end of project employees were professional, courteous, and punctual. Work was done quickly and neatly. Cleanup at end of project returned my porch area and driveway to its original condition. Even though their estimate was higher than others, I felt more comfortable having this company do the work and would recommend them over other companies.

Arrived on time and completed work quickly, efficiently, and cleaned up site.

I felt that it was a good price. I thought they were very conscientious and serious about the job. They did good work. They are a good company. They were really interested in doing a good, proper job.

Gerry, the owner made several trips to my house to discuss the project and subsequently change his proposal. He was very patient and professional. He is honest and his prices are fair. He makes sure that his crew does the work correctly. On several occasions he proposed an approach to project details that never dawned on me at the planning stage. Each time, his approach was thorough and I never felt like he was trying to cut corners. I would recommend Gerry without hesitation to my friends.

Very smoothly. There were a few hiccups with scheduling but really nothing bothersome. Loved this contractor, he's honest, cares about quality and does great work.

They do very good work. They are a little pricey for what they do, but it is worth it. They always get the work done very quickly when they are there.
