I called the day after Christmas spoke to an answering Service but never said they weren't answering service they scheduled an appointment for Monday, January 6. I have an 8 AM appointment waiting and waiting and waiting and nothing I decide to call them at 8:30 call me find out that they have to contact the tech because they don't know where he is. They reach him tell me find out his battery is dead have to go and buy a new one which means my appointment is longer than 30 minutes away and that I could wait at home. I have rescheduled my day and had I not called would I have gotten a call??? No apology or discount due to the service tech. I understand stuff happens but you knew at 7:30 your battery wasn't working. Why not call and tell me so I could decide to reschedule or cancel??

Had to request a redo on a previous service call for caulking windows. I contacted Neil of Mr. Handyman, and within a couple of days he dispatched Max to come out and complete the job. The process took less than 30 minutes and everything was completed to my satisfaction. Mr. Handyman is truly all about customer service and satisfaction. Outstanding job guys!!!

Showed up on time, reviewed all 4 jobs; gave an estimated number of hours per job, started job that required water shut-off to minimize inconvenience. All jobs within time estimate, cleaned all areas. Job well done and to our expectation.

Cris pulled up at 7:45 for an 8 AM appointment. I explained what I wanted done. He explained the ceiling would be a simple fix. We moved to the window. Cris explained that the window would result in a higher labor cost and a return visit if drywall was used. He recommended wood, and gave me the option of making a run to Lowe's to buy the materials, or he would go, while on the clock, and there would be a 100% markup on the materials. I let him make the supply run. The ceiling went quick. When he was done, he showed me what was done, and why the problem occurred (no adhesive and using nails instead of drywall screws.) He moved to the window and tackled that project. While he was waiting on the drywall mud to dry, he returned to the ceiling to finish up. This was where the craftsmanship really showed up....Cris applied the drywall mud over the repair screws and matched the textured ceiling. When he was done, he cleaned up and left the place looking better than when he arrived. Six hours and $900 later, the jobs were finished and looked awesome.

They put their guys through a lot of training and I feel very comfortable having them in my home. I have requested the same guy both times and he has been great. They work quickly, efficiently and communicate very well with their customers. They also send out lots of coupons which is great.

The tech arrived exactly on schedule, did the work satisfactorily, cleaned up afterward, and was pleasant to deal with.

Deck looks great! Mr. Batra was very honest about some issues with a handyman he had there that it turned out didn't have the right experience in this particular case once they got into the deck so he swapped that guy with one that had pertinent experience and gave a discount for time that the first guy spent. Shows very good management and that he cares about customer satisfaction.

I was called in advance if he couldn't come become of rain and then scheduled in a couple of days. He us on time and completely cordial and cooperative.

The professionalism and quality of work was completed just as I would have hoped. However, I do have concerns regarding pricing of the serve. I was quoted a price of $256 minimum for a 2 hour service fee. The person I spoke with from the company told me the job should take approximately two hours. I had indicated to the caller that this was a new install, not just removing and installing a garbage disposal. In the end, this project took over 3 hours for the serviceman to complete. Again, I feel he work hard and did not slack off on the job. The concern is with the price quote I received as well as additional charges for parts and fuel. I was charged $378 for 3 hours and 15 minutes of labor and $10 for gas for the service truck to come to my home. It should be noted this company's shop is about 3 miles from my home. I was also charged $54 was for extra parts. It should be noted that before the serviceman came, I purchased a wiring kit and the switch for the install. The serviceman had to also install a power box under the sink and wired it to the dishwasher circuit, which was fine. They did offer a $25 discount through Angie’s List. The appointment was originally scheduled between 11-3PM the prior day. The manager of the store, Yogi, did not call me until 3:30PM, stating the earliest the serviceman could stop out was later in the the evening. I would have appreciated a phone call at some point between the 11-3PM time frame. The company tried to reschedule me, I objected saying I had already waited my 4 hour window. Therefore they showed up to my home first thing this morning and completed the job accurately and professionally. Again, the quality of work was great. It is the details and pricing I had concerns with.

The person arrived exactly on time (8:00 AM) - and proceeded to install the bathroom fan, faucet and kitchen ceiling fan, no problems. I had to make a few quick trips to Home Depot, but that is fine. I asked him to replace the master bedroom fan next, but he wanted to start on the pot lights (this is around noon). Long story short, he didn't seem to know what he was doing with the dry wall. So, now, I have to get a real handyman in to install the bedroom fan and FIX a problem that didn't exist before (he made multiple cuts in the ceiling of the kitchen that weren't necessary and very poorly re-installed the removed drywall. The "seams" that he taped are awful - I think I could have done a better job!). The pot lights are in, and working, but I had bought the wrong light bulbs, and instead of telling me this he put them in - I can't get them out to replace with correct one. So, more work created. I will say he did fine in the work he did complete. He did seem to know the fans and faucet. I think it was the drywall and electrical that wasn't his forte, but I had specifically told the person when I called what I needed done. I gave him a bad rating on the card I mailed in. The owner was very prompt in calling me and was regretful that I wasn't pleased with the work. He offered to give me the "next" hour for $50, versus their regular rate. That would install the ceiling fan in the bedroom, but I'm still left with several hours of unnecessary drywall repair on the ceiling of the kitchen. Unfortunately, for me, I wouldn't have them back in my home, so I will have to find someone else to do the work. I've had a different Mr. Handyman years ago, and had a VERY different experience, which is why I tried them again. Unfortunately for all the franchises out there, I probably won't use them again.

Nick was on time and showed good! Professionalism nothing the ceiling fan laid microwave.

It was a shower valve replacement in a rental condo, and I had a fairly small window to have the work done. I had each player scheduled. The plumber had already been in and replaced the valve, and I needed the tile repaired around the shower set, allowing two days to dry. The drywall was of an unexpected type and after painstakingly enlarging the hole, the tech didn't know how to handle it. He called the owner of the franchise who told him to pack up and leave. I ended up having to replace the whole wall (okay it happens) but it was my idea not their suggestion and I had to beg. Can you imagine??!! The job took far longer than I think it should have, and by the hour was therefore more costly.

From the inquiry follow up call through the final service, Mr Handyman was professional and straightforward. They were prompt about responding and doing the job well. We will keep them in mind for future projects.

Estimates for time and cost were given to me over the phone when I made the appointment. She estimated 8-10 hours at $98 a hour. The technician was to arrive at 8:00 AM. However, he did not arrive until 9:45 because he had to go get the tile that morning and rush-hour traffic delayed him. When he arrived, we over what needed to be done and I explained the problem with the tile and other issues. He worked steadily all day with a quick lunch break. The thing I appreciated was his explaining to me what he was doing with the tile at each step. Unfortunately, he did not finish until 9:15 PM, partly due to the late start and partly due to the job taking longer than anticipated. Fortunately, the technician was very good at his job and cleaned up thoroughly after himself.

Estimate came in <750.00 and total for work was 1800.00. Deck was not in great shape but work took 3 weekends, and even neighbors were wondering why they work so slow. Be less than fair if I didn't say deck looks good. I asked them speed up, and sacrifice "fancy job" for just "good job". They didn't oblige Lesson learned don't sign or agree to hourly rate on deck. They also fixed by bathroom fan, and fastened dishwasher. They did that just fine and fairly quick.

When I realized I would be home all day (very rare!) for some other electrical work I was having done, I called Mr. Handyman the day before to see if I could get someone over to install a new set of attic stairs. It was a long shot, being only 24 hours out, but Mr. Handyman was EXTREMELY wonderful in squeezing me in and getting someone out to do the work that next day. I was very appreciative! My electrician was hard at work when the tech from Mr. Handyman got there, and I was surprised to hear him give me an attitude right from the get-go, because the electrician's truck was also in my driveway. He felt he wouldn't be able to get his tools out (mind you there was PLENTY of space between the vehicles, and he didn't need anything more than a circular saw!) He continued to give me attitude and I finally had to say "This is is the way it's going to be, so you're going to have to deal with it." The rest of the day went fairly well. The job was done perfectly and within a reasonable amount of time. I ended up spending more money than I wanted to, because they had to have a second person out to help with the heavy stairs, and I felt that the second person stayed much longer than necessary (meaning I paid for more labor than I wanted to), but overall the work was spectacular and I'm very happy with the result. I would recommend Mr. Handyman to others, but probably caution them to keep an eye on the work being done since they charge by the hour and not the job.

Excellent work! Great attention to detail on the carpentry, as well as the other tasks. Polite, prompt technician with excellent knowledge of his craft.

I would like to update you on my complaint .I have come to an agreement regarding my financial dealings with Mr. Handyman but do have some reservations regarding the company?s ethics. Although we have settled financially, the rightness and wrongness of their actions are concerning as well as the run around that they gave me regarding the work I requested they complete (that they continuously and adamantly denied they were wrong). I find it above and beyond unethical as they were unwilling to adhere to proper rules of conduct and removed money from my account without my approval and for work I never requested they complete. Please hire this company with caution.

The job was to mount a television on a wall inside a small office. The computer in the office was to be located on the opposite wall so we had to install computer signal cable inside a wall near the desk, across a drop ceiling, and down the wall on which the TV would be mounted. One of the guys showed up 30 minutes early, the other was exactly on time. Their work was good and they made sure to clean up after themselves. I think they could have been a little more efficient with their time. That is, when they had to "go out to the van" for more tools or parts, they would be gone for 10-15 minutes at a time and they charge by the quarter hour.

We hired Mr. Handyman to replace the rotting wood around our bay window and paint it. They would not provide an estimate which should have tipped me off that they would charge too much. The worker they sent was very inexperienced in carpentry. The wood was put on crooked and we had to have them come back to fix it. I had to explain to the man how to do his job while he was doing it. He also put on caulk lke cake icing. When he painted there were missed spots and paint on my brick. It was a very sloppy job and they wouldn't budge on the price. I will never call them again.

They got the work done right away, were knowledgeable, and bought all the necessary materials.

They were prompt. They came back immediately to fix something that wasn't right and didn't charge for that. They were upfront with their fees but they were pricey. Their price was pretty higher than what it should have been but they were upfront with it. They were probably more expensive but they were very prompt. Overall they did a good job but it's just that their price was too high.
