They were very prompt, courteous and clean; they did not do any damage. He came the same day I first spoke with him but he was a little late for the appointment; but that was okay.
Description of Work: I used Capitol Floors to replace a patch of carpet padding for me.

I didn't go with them because I found a different company that I was more comfortable with. The guy didn't give me a lot of recommendations on what he thought my floor needed. He just gave me a quote and left. He wasn't very personable. He came, left for a while, and then came back. It was kind of strange. I wouldn't use them in the future.
Description of Work: I got an estimate from Capitol Floors, but I decided not to go with them.

The job was done in two stages, because the materials were not available simultaneously. First, the hardwood laminate was installed throughout the entire ground floor, then a week later when the carpeting was received, the carpting was installed on the stairs and upper floors. We received estimates from three contractors and this one was the cheapest, but by only $220 from the next cheapest estimate. We selected Capitol Floors and based upon his quantity estimates, ordered the materials from our materials supplier. We had had the interior of the house painted first and the installation of the laminate began a week later. Prior to that, the contractor delivered all laminate materials and stored them in an unused room of the house for a few days. He began work on the day and time that he said he would. The laminate work took three days - the first day and a half was spent removing all old flooring on the ground floor and the next day and a half was spent installing the new underlayment, hardwood laminate, and quarter-round shoe molding. A week later, the carpeting arrived and the next day, the contractor picked it up, delivered it, removed the rest of the old carpeting, and installed the new carpeting in less than a full day. In all, the contractor personnel (there were two crews) were punctual, courteous, and hard working. Each work day generally began around 7 AM and ended around 4 PM. All work was done for the exact amount that was quoted to me. There were no hidden charges or extra fees.
Description of Work: All existing wall-to-wall carpeting was removed from all rooms in the house (but not inside closets) and ceramic tiling was removed from the kitchen (but not a pantry and the bathrooms). The house is built on a concrete slab with no basement, with a total area of about 1,500 sq ft. On the ground floor, after the carpeting was removed, it was discovered that the entire slab was covered with asphalt tiles. This was removed at no additional cost from the original estimate. All removed materials were transported from the house by the contractor. The installation was performed in two stages - first the ground floor, then the stairs and second floor. In both stages, the contractor moved all furniture out of the way and replaced it when the work was done. Hardwood laminate was installed on the entire ground floor. On the stairs and the upper floors, new wall-to-wall carpeting was installed. All laminate, carpeting, and installation materials were purchased separately by me, the owner, and provided to the installation contractor, who picked up all materials from the flooring materials supplier and transported them to the house. When the job was completed, the contractor cleaned up the entire area and took all remaining materials with him.
