Laurie or Raquel arrived promptly, have great personalities - and listened to all my lame jokes! ha ha Will definitely be having them back for continued organization.
Description of Work: Laurie helped me go thru things, get rid of what was not needed and organize items left. She also carried things downstairs, if that's where they belonged. I do intend to have her back as my house isn't finished yet. Had to take a break due to some repair work being done at another home. Laurie, and her co-worker Raquel are both great women and I enjoyed working with both of them.

It went great. She was very professional and very organized. A low key person, her personality is nice. One thing that's wonderful is that she takes everything with her that you want to donate. She takes it and distributes it. That's the part of the cost you are paying for. It's her distribution and it saves the customer a lot of time and don't have to run around, drop things off at good will or salvation army. It's very helpful, it's above and beyond the hours that I paid her for but that's included in her service.

The team arrived on time and went right to work organizing my daughter's space. By the time they had finished they had two large bags of donations, two large bags of trash, and a bag of recycling. It took a few days to nail down a date because the owner, Laurie Beth, and I kept missing one another's phone calls. When we finally made contact, I told Laurie Beth that my office space was a mess and that I really needed someone to bring order to the chaos. We set a date and Raquel was dispatched to provide assistance for a period of four hours. That doesn't seem like a lot of time but I was amazed at how much was accomplished in that short period of time. An extra pair of eyes, hands and expertise provided the key to making the space functional. I already had a system in place but the paper had gotten out of hand. Raquel helped me sort the papers into filing, shredding and recycling piles. Raquel went through my bookcase and reorganized and pulled out things that weren't really books. I have a built-in storage system that I am not particularly fond of but Raquel suggested that I use it more because it has good storage, so a couple of the file containers are now labeled and tucked away in the lower cabinets of the storage system. Other items, that I want to refer to, are placed on open shelving in the same storage unit. I had a ton of office supplies hidden away in plastic containers. Sometimes, I'd forget that I already had a particular item and I would go out and purchase it again. Raquel removed all the supplies from the containers and placed them in my over-the-door hanging pocket organizer. I am really enjoying the pocket organizer, all my office supplies are available at first glance. No more duplicate purchases. Raquel's concept was to make the things I needed readily accessible. My desk was already decorated but needed better organization for stray papers. Raquel used two in-boxes for action and filing items. Because we got rid of a lot of stuff and consolidated other things, I ended up with several empty containers that I may use in other parts of the house or perhaps donate to charity. It is a pleasure to work in the office space now and I am determined to keep it organized. At least once a week, I perform maintenance and file away and/or get rid of papers. I have been keeping the desk clean and there is nothing in the middle of the floor nor on the chaise. I am totally pleased with the results of using Ace of Space DC.

This was a massive project. I did not realize how much stuff we had in the basement until the organizers showed up to start the project. It was so much stuff, that we did not have access to the back basement door because it was blocked off with STUFF. The ladies got my basement completely livable in sixteen hours! We did several four sessions in one week and my family is still amazed. It is like we have added on to our house because we now have livable space that we have not been able to use in over two years. Well worth the investment. I highly recommend this team. The ladies are awesome!

When I made the appointment I spoke with Laurie Beth on the phone about what I was interested in. I bought an Angie's list special for $200 for 4 hours of organizing. Laurie Beth arrived on time and we went on a short tour. I wanted to concentrate on the master bedroom, especially the overfull closets. She brought supplies and set up a bag for recycling, for trash, for donation, and an area for the things I wanted to keep. I hate going through things like that and it had not been done in a LONG time, so there was a lot of stuff. Laurie Beth was great. I sat at the bottom of the bed and she brought items to me to go through and put in the appropriate place/bag. I had some extremely outdated clothing and we had a good laugh at. She was very good at keeping things moving. It is emotionally and physically difficult to go through things that have been part of your life and Laurie Beth made it a much more positive experience that I would have ever expected. She was not at all judgmental and didn't push me to go faster than I was ready to. When we were finished for the day, Laurie Beth organized what was left and put it into the closet. She packed up the donations and took them to the donation center and packed up all the trash to be put out on trash day. I plan to have her back at least once more, probably twice because there are still areas I want to work on. She made something I was dreading almost pleasant and I would be glad to work with her again.

It worked out pretty good. They came out within about 2 weeks. I think they were very responsive and helpful. They worked with me. I was hoping for more suggestions. I was hoping for a bit more input. I don't know if I got that. I would grade them like a B+ and would have given them an A if they had come up with some innovative ideas. They did a nice job. It could have been all better. Price was reasonable. It was good. They might have been more specific to my needs.

Super transformation. On time service. The price was higher than I liked but the service was of immeasurable value. It forced me to make time for decades of materials that had been kept and not looked at again or that had been put in a box during one of many moves and never unpacked. It made me move through them faster than if I had done it myself. Memories take longer to go through but with Ace of Space, I moved fast since it was costing a lot of money! The organizer was flexible, working with my system and labeling things as fit my preferences.
Description of Work: Went through boxes of paper with me...most of it was trashed, the rest was put into boxes or files, working with the organizing system that I already had going. Things that belonged elsewhere in the house were put in piles to be taken to their proper place. 6 sessions; 3-4 boxes done per session. Ace of Space provided bags for recycling and shredding and took them away at the end of each session.

Description of Work: The communication was excellent and so was the service. I have stored my mom's things in the master closet for 18 months, and I needed to go through them and donate them. Also, go through the hallway closet and a few other areas. Raquel came and we realized that I had too much to put in her car, so Lori Beth came by to take some things to the donation center. They left a receipt for taxes purposes. Really a wonderful bunch of ladies.

I appreciated Laurie Beth's willingness to prompt me to follow through on setting up an appointment! I needed to juggle schedules to ensure both my son and I were available since we both had "stuff" in our basement that needed organizing. We agreed upon a day and time, communicating both via phone and Angie's List messages. I really appreciated the professionalism that was shown throughout the process! We started promptly at 9 am, and Raquel kept us focused even when little discoveries would distract us. She had a designated color bag for trash, one for donations, another one for items to be shredded, and one for recyclables. I'm amazed at how many bags we filled! The area looks 100% better now, and I don't feel stressed out each time I walk through the space. We found a place for everything and got rid of loads of things. At the end of the 4 hours, Raquel itemized the donations and left a receipt for me. She hauled all the shredding and donation bags away at the end, so all we needed to take care of was the trash and recycle. It was a terrific experience and I'm so glad to have done it. Worth every penny!!

As noted above, they went right to work, and tackled the things that needed to be filed. Also advised me what to keep and for how long. They also went through the existing files and weeded them, and took my old National Geographic and American Scholar magazines -- the former will go to a school, which relieves me greatly as I hated the idea of just throwing them away. They also took away items for shredding. They helped me tremendously in just getting the work done as I need that room in better shape for relatives coming over to visit soon. I had earlier gone through some of my bedroom cabinets and had a bag of hose that I don't use anymore... and they took that also. They provide me with the name of the organization to which they were going to deliver my discards (a thrift in Falls Church) for my tax purposes. It was a great experience and I intend to use them again.

This is something he could not do on his own, nor with my help. Stephanie worked with me . we created piles of items to recycle, to trash , to keep and organize. I can't believe how much we got rid of, how wonderful the organizing went. We were prepared to discard items and so it went very fast. Stephanie said that most people take a great deal of time to decide. I made decisions in seconds and we cleared the open room and the storage room. I got a list of all the items that will be donated. All the storage boxes were gone through and I was able to donate many items to my own charities. Each box was labeled and I have more space now than I had when we started. We trashed, recycled and organized. They took away the items to be donated and I got an itemized list of everything they took. I donated some things to my special charities. We had a huge bag of recycled paper that I put out with our recyclables this week. Do decide ahead of time what you are willing to part with. This will make the process move very quickly. Do snack as you work... you are using energy with moving things, deciding about items and paper. If you haven't used something in 5 years get rid of it. .

Everything went very well. The two ladies were very knowledgeable, did a great job, and were easy to work with. In fact, it was like dealing with friends instead of strangers.
