They had our exterior cleaned a week before they painted. When they came they began by repairing some rot- and insect-damaged wood. They removed screens and an awning so they would not get paint on them. They sanded and primed some areas where the old paint had been peeling. Then they did an outstanding job of painting our house and gazebo. The gazebo, in particular, was rather challenging, but they did not complain.

It was a pleasure working with George and his crew.

HUGHES PAINTING LLC is very prompt. They came out to our house the same afternoon that I called them. They were very flexible in scheduling the painting to coincide with, and to fit in with the landscaping, so on and so forth. The people that came from this company were polite and professional and did a beautiful job. We got this company from the website. Everybody praises them. All the good things that people say, they did. They did everything that need to be done. They caught the cracks, washed and prinked beautifully and everything was done as it should have been done. They were also more complete in sending invoices and putting down exactly what they were doing. They actually prepared a very detailed contract which so many other people did not do. I would use them in the future.

George is very busy so I had to wait for a spot to open up in his calendar. It did take a few months but I was fine waiting because the work was more proactive than a dire situation. He explained this upfront so my expectations were set on the wait time. We targeted July as the likely month but he was able to fit me in this week (June 21). They showed up on time and went straight to work. They prepared a tarp-protected area for their equipment on the driveway and cleaned up everything before they left each day. The work took about a day and a half and they were focused and very effective at getting what they needed to get accomplished. George also checked the windows to make sure they opened and were working properly overall the next day. The work was high quality and I was very pleased with the outcome. The window trim looks great and the garage doors also have a fresh new coat of paint. And even though George had prepared me that the siding color may look a little darker (because the house was painted 5 years ago), he blended it so well, I couldn't see a color distinction. I'll be calling George early next year to paint the entire house so definitely plan to use this company again.

They were terrific and did a very good job. They were professional. They gave a timely quote and did a timely work. I have already recommended them.

Very satisfied albeit a little pricey.

He ended up being a lot more expensive than the rest of my estimates. Mr. Huges came out to do the estimate, he was very professional and seemed to know what he was talking about and doing. His quote was just so much more expensive than the others I got. I though it was a little outrageous.

They did a good job. They were neat and clean. They paid close attention to the detail. I found them to be a little over priced.

Project was performed as described above and per contract. Satisfied with results.

The contractor provided a comprehensive estimate, started work within a few days and did a great job of getting the work done without undue household disruption. The workers were friendly and respectful and cleaned up each evening.

This company was just great to work with! George Hughes is extremely professional. He came out to do the initial quote right on time, took the time to explain in detail what he and his crew would do, then walked around the house several times and took pictures to work up the quote, which I received very promptly. He worked with me regarding the start schedule and was right on time. His crew was very respectful and courteous. George was very detail-oriented, even down to helping me pick out the right shutters to replace the old ones and to select the right type and color fasteners for the shutters; he knew the ones the shutter company supplied would make overly large holes in my siding and would make removal tricky when it was time to repaint. He made sure to keep me advised up front on the carpentry work and siding replacement, both in regards to what needed to be fixed and the approximate cost. And he made sure I could inspect the pieces that were removed to verify that they needed replacing. I had had a couple carpenters working on doing some repairs I knew were needed prior to the painters coming; George and his guys found things the carpenters had missed and, frankly, George did better work than the carpenters. His crew did a great job on the painting, very good detail work, no messy areas, nothing missed. They cleaned up everything when done and left no mess behind at all. I've had houses painted in the past and there were always problems but this job was just about perfect. I can't imagine using anybody else in the future.

They were on the list. I spent about $2200 on that work. He was very professional and his estimate of time to use and the workmen he had were good. He was not there all the time and had a foreman for me to ask questions of. They cleaned up very nicely and things were put back in place.

George and his crew did much of our home's interior in Jan 2010, returned in the spring to restore four sets of exterior shutters and arrived this morning promptly at 7:30 to paint the kitchen. The kitchen was carefully sectioned off from the rest of the house with plastic sheeting to confine the dust from prep. More plastic sheeting covered the appliances, cupboards, and counters - even the ceiling fan blades received a protective veil of plastic. Dropcloths were put down to protect carpet, hardwood and vinyl. As always, we are incredibly pleased with the results and incredibly impressed with the attention to detail. The kitchen turned out exactly the way I wanted it. George and his crews are always easy to talk to and very, very good at their jobs.I will never tire of watching the process - it is consistently meticulous and thoughtful. In the past eight months, I've recommended Hughes Painting more times than I can remember and they will always be our "go-to" painter.

He did an excellent job. We have used him before. All of his employees have workers comp and he is insured as well. He has a Bachelors in Fine Art so he is very detailed, intelligent and knows what he is doing. They also followed the lead paint regulations.

The estimate process was outstanding. Mr. Hughes explained everything carefully and made helpful suggestions. He had the low bid also. They came when they said they would come. They were polite and helpful. They worked efficiently, but paid attention to little details. The job only took two days, which really amazed us. They cleaned everything well and left things in excellent condition.

Mr. Hughes came and gave an estimate for the services in May 2010. The porch and deck were power washed about a week before the painting was done. All services were completed timely and professionally. We are very pleased with the service provided.

Mr. Hughes provided a very detailed estimate after spending an hour on site identifying potential rot and determining siding in need of replacement. He and his crew were extremely professional and considerate. At the end of each workday all tools, materials, and ladders were stored out of sight. Mr. Hughes maintained close communication with us during the job. He discussed any changes to the original estimate and sought our input before proceeding with any work. We changed the color of our house so it was necessary to put a coat of primer as well as a final coat of paint. The carpentry and painting were outstanding. The house looks beautiful and we couldn't be any more pleased with the work performed by Mr. Hughes and his crew. It was a pleasure working with George and his crew from start to finish.

George came over to give me an estimate. He was very professional and gave me a list of references. He also gave me some tips on choosing a paint color that would provide good coverage. He emailed me an estimate a few hours after our meeting. I scheduled the work later that night. They came a week later. I would greet them in the morning but was not there while they performed the bulk of the work. I never felt uncomfortable about not being there. They were very honest, very thorough, and very neat. I'm very happy with the way the room turned out. I will definitely use them again in the future.

This is the second time I have used this company and would highly recommend them to anyone wanting quality work. The owner and his employees are conscientious and professional. They are also extremely reliable, as well as punctual. I am quite happy with the completed work and would not hesitate to use them again.

Unfortunately I couldn't hire him right now but when I decide to paint he is going to be my first call. He showed up on time, answered all my questions before I asked and shed light on aspects of painting I'm glad I know now. He also provided a two page list of references. He returned an estimate in about a day or two and also helped me find some other people to repair things outside his area of expertise. His price was very fair without cutting corners. Bottom line, he's everything I wanted in a painter, knowledgeable, professional, honest and fair. I wish all people in the construction/home maintenance field were like George Hughes.
