On the day the work was to be done, you arrived when you said you would be there, and your crew, a short time after. Your workers were professional in their appearance and actions during the half day they were there. Before you started painting, all areas that might have been subject to paint spillage were covered (shrubs, deck, porch). When you left the premises for a short time to run an errand, your crew continued their work, uninterrupted and in a professional manner. After the painting was completed you and I walked around the exterior of the house and inspected the work. You left my property the way you found it (no mess). Bottom line, you gave me a fair price and you did what you said you would do. The only thing you left behind was a satisfied customer. I look forward to having you come back to do some interior painting for me. I know you are a company I can trust. Thanks again for a job well done.

Overall, Mr. Hughes and his team were outstanding. From the day I contacted Mr. Hughes until the day the project was finished, Mr. Hughes and his crew showed the utmost professionalism. I solicited quotes from five painting contractors (all with high marks from Angie's List). Mr. Hughes' bid was the most competitive. The Hughes team showed up for work on each day scheduled and the quality of the work is second to none. The team members were very friendly and courteous to me and my family. I hired George with Hughes painting to paint the exterior and interior of an existing home as well as the recently built addition. George was very responsive and punctual throughout the bidding process all the way until the job was complete. His crew was very thorough in prepping the home to receive the new paint. I have worked with several painters and none have been so careful to prep the surface to ensure that it was ready to receive paint. While conducting work on the interior to the home, his crew was sure to keep the space very clean and treated it as if it were their own home. He took the time to work with the homeowner in a very receptive manner even when their were several color changes. I will be sure to refer George to anyone who is considering painting their home.

George, the owner, oversaw the work himself. He had three workers with him and came in and finished a sizable bedroom suite, matching the paint exactly as outlined and did a fantastic job. No mess was left, they moved and replaced all large/heavy furniture and the walls were sanded, nail holes from picture hangers were filled in just everything was done so professionally. I have asked him to do another job because he and his workers were so great.

Hughes is very detailed and he does not miss a mark. He is an eager person and he will take as much time as needed to make sure the job is done perfect. He is very particular and his jobs are of great quality.

George Hughes (company owner) provided an estimate for my job in a timely, comprehensive manner. His lead-time to complete the work was about 2-3 months, which seemed to be par for the course with most of painters to whom I spoke. The only minor issue I had during the entire process was the lack of contact between the time I signed the contract and the actual beginning of work. Other than that, I have to say that I was thrilled with the quality of the work, the caliber of the crew, and the experience in general. The crew was extremely diligent (even working on a holiday weekend) and very polite. They were very conscientious about cleaning up after themselves at the conclusion of each work day, and at the end of the project. Overall, I would strongly recommend Hughes Painting to anyone that has exterior painting needs; it's the best experience I've had with a vendor since moving to Richmond.

Our house looks amazing, since Hughes Painting painted it. It took them about three days to paint the house and they did a great job. They were very detail oriented and the trim and around the windows looks really good. I don't think we would change anything about how they did.

I was really surprised at the great job they did doing the prep work. Every inch of wallpaper had been removed and taken out. I had 6 guys working in my home and they were all very polite and nice. They had the job done on time and had everything looking great.
