Everything was done as written on the contract the men were on time each day and the estimate of the time element that was given was completed as mentioned by the painters the first day. There were only 2 men working and they had a new person just hired to work with the experienced painter and he was very polite and eager to do the job correctly which he did a very nice job for being a new employee. They covered all carpet in the painting area, covered the ceiling light from the upstairs ceiling area and also placed a plastic curtain so no debris would go into the downstairs living room and entrance hallway. They also covered the newly poly-painted handrail going up the stairs, removed all switch and plug covers, ceiling register and high-hat recessed ceiling lights. Faced off the 2 HVAC air returns frames and painted those covers with appropriate color and paint type for the purpose of the filters being replaced every few months as being handled with human hands. They patched all nail pops in the walls and repaired the metal edging of where the stairwell wall & the living room ceiling came together and added mounting screws to tighten the attachment as it was only nailed where the old plaster had fallen down. All repairs were sanded and prepped and it was impossible to see where the repairs were made after the painting was completed. They re-attached all switch and plug plates, re-installed the HVAC return covers, and installed a new ceiling register (which I purchased) and re-installed all high-hat ceiling light fixtures and trimmed carefully or removed all door knobs facing out to the hallway as it was impossible to tell which way as no indication of any of this except the door was painted completely. They cleaned up the area and hand broomed the foyer where some of the debris had collected from the work upstairs and also checked all the carpet areas for any paint or plaster residue, which there was none and when finished all work they inspected the areas to make sure all was clean before they left. They worked the whole time except for a lunch break and ended the workdays at a reasonable time each day. They did use our outside hose and water to clean their paint brushes and containers but when finished they put back all hoses on the reel and made sure the outside spigot was off and the hose was drained. They did ask to use our hose before they did any cleaning and also parked in the proper places at our complex as we live in a condo group and parking rules are strict for all residents and contractors working at various units.

Did an excellent job, did what was written on the contract and there were no surprises of extra added costs. The daily clean up and final completion of the job as cleaning the rooms as there were before the work was started. Placed tarps and plastic sheet barriers to help with the debris from pop corn ceiling removal and and protecting the large furniture items that could not be placed in another room and all of the hard wood type flooring. The painters had to move the larger items around in the painting areas but did so with care and there were no damages. They also removed the door knobs switch and plug plates and ceiling registers for the HVAC. They re-installed all the above when finished and they were put back as they were. The owner Gabe did come himself to give the estimate for the work and actually was able to price and print out the completed contract while he was at our condo. Gabe actually covered the entire contract, and explained all warrantees and also provide the comments of previous jobs completed by their customers. They had their service manager who's name is Gabe Cobb, (same first name as the owner) call before the job was to begin and requested the paint color and texture to be used and inquired our desire for the color and type of trim paint for the job. He arranged for our choice of which painting supply company we wished to use. The company obtained all supplies needed and monitored the work of a special contractor who were dry wall professionals and prepared the ceilings patch and skim coat placed and sanding for a complete smooth finish and it was impossible to tell that the ceilings were pop corn textured before. They always began the job as what we requested of the start time. There was some dead time due to the ceiling skim coat took longer to dry but it would have not turned out the way it did if they had continued and while waiting they actually started to do the trim and facings of the doors that would not be affected by the sanding of the ceiling skim coat and painting as well. When the job was completed with in the contracted time line the service manager came to check on any concerns we had about the job and was ready to complete and satisfy our findings. All of the crew doubled checked the clean up process and took away any trash or debris made during the work operation. We were so pleased we decided to have them submit another contract and we granted them the work to paint the upstairs hall and stairway and Gabe the owner came as set by appointment made again which was verified by the office manager for the day and time of the estimate to be completed and he processed the contract as before and printed out a copy and wanted to know if we had any questions. Also the service manager would also ask if we had questions and gave us his cell number to call any time.

Painter Inc. had a very professional crew who did a great job. I am not sure what went wrong with some of the other complaints that I read on this website, but we were completely satisfied. From the initial meeting with Gabe to interacting with his crew, to the job that was done, all was very professional and top quality work. In addition, we were very comfortable with the crew around our home. They were very friendly and would listen if we any comment about what need to be done. The price was right and the work was exceptional.

Everything went as scheduled. One of his employees came early to tape door and surrounding area. No fumes or paint could escape. Gabriel came and carefully painted the door.

Two very professional and experienced young men arrived at my home promptly on the scheduled first day. They covered all my floors, cabinets, and anything else not removed from the room. My valances were taken down and carefully laid out to maintain their shape. The wallpaper was removed--it was over, above, and behind everything. The workmen did such a good job and kept everyting so clean that, when I looked at the trim, windows, and doors, I decided that they didn't need repainting. I called Gabriel that evening and told him that I would like to cancel that part of the contract. He agreed immediately to reduce the cost of my project by the amounts listed for those areas saving me hundreds of dollars. The second day went smoothly. The patch was made over the phone jack hole, the walls were made beautifully smooth, and then painted without flaw. The den ceiling was repaired and the valances were rehung in the kitchen. Gabriel came by to make sure all went well. Even though the patch was not figured into the original contract and I was prepared to pay more for that, I was not charged more. A rare occurrence. I was a happy customer. Gabriel's office sent my warranty certificate out right away. I inquired about extra paint for touch-up if I had a need. Gabriel called and said that, if I ever needed paint, it would be delivered to me free from the paint store. They would have my match information and it would be fresh. I am a happy customer.

Excellent attention to detail, outstanding communications, highly professional! Involved owner - Gabriel Goar, the owner, personally estimates every job. He is always on time, and provides immediate quotes using a thorough & meticulous estimating process. Easy scheduling - Worked with my availability to schedule his crew at the soonest opportunity. Friendly crew - We've had the same crew leader each time we've hired The Painter. (Coincidentally, his name is also Gabe!) Gabe is friendly and courteous, always introducing himself and any new crew members we haven't met. Timely arrival & completion - Crew arrived on time (and has done so each of the 4 times we've used The Painter), and completed on time. For projects taking longer than one day, they communicated with us daily to keep us informed on the status of their work. Each day, they arrived ready to go by 9 am. Meticulous preparation - Carefully moved furnishings, taped off areas not being painted, and laid drop cloths over the bare floor. When they painted our walls, they removed every wall plate. Right materials - Came with the right paint, including primer. Professional and quality painting - Done right the first time. When Gabriel says he has "15 guarantees," he means it! The Painter did a phenomenal job painting the entire interior of our home! They were a highly effective team, and I was very impressed with their attention-to-detail. They took enormous pride in their work and drove themselves to perfection. There is no doubt in my mind that they painted our home with the same level of quality and care with which they would paint their own homes. We have moved seven times during our 20+ years in the Navy, and we've had a lot of painting done in our various homes. Our experience with The Painter has been the absolute best we have ever had.

The Painter, Inc. was recommended to us by one of our neighbors who was very pleased with the work they had done. We called to set up a time to get an estimate and general information. The company was prompt, courteous and very knowledgeable when discussing procedures and products. We hired The Painter, Inc. to paint two different interior areas and also garage steps and exterior garage trim. One of the interior areas consisted of trim around a doorway with oil based paint and blending the edges where the trim met the wall. It was detailed work and we were very pleased with the results. The second interior area consisted of painting a very high entrance wall that required the use of ladders. The workers were extremely careful in placing drop cloths on the floors and in placing the ladders appropriately to accomplish the task. This job included very detailed painting of curved wall areas where we darkened one area and kept the other a shade lighter. Again, we were extremely pleased with the results. The workers stopped and asked us our opinion on the color and if we had any additional input into the process before they finished the job which was a very nice consideration. We also had our garage inside brick work repainted and steps/hand rail leading up from the garage into the house. The painters were very helpful in suggesting the best paint to use in this area because of the amount of foot traffic involved. They also left detailed instructions as to drying time and how to clean the area in the future. Overall, I would highly recommend The Painter, Inc. company and will definitely use them for any future painting needs.

I had an appointment for a painter to come out on March 13, 2012. The painting job was to take place in Norfolk, but I drove in from Newport News to Norfolk to wait for the painter. When the painter did not show up, I called the painter and she told me that she had left the company. She had told Gabe, another painter for the company to call me and reschedule when she left. That never happened. I have no reason to disbelieve her, because I have dealt with her in the past when a friend needed his house painted. She always called back, was on time, and she did a great job on his house. I definitely wanted her to do the painting work on my house. When I found out the female painter had left the company, I got a message from Gabriel Goar that he would have another painter come out to do the work in 2 weeks. Two weeks later, Gabe finally came out to do the work. Gabe painted what he was supposed to paint, and I had used a Groupon I paid $94 for allegedly $400 worth of work. I paid an additional $143. So the total amount to paint one coat of paint on 2 doors and ceilings approximately 4'x'' and 3'x3' was $237 with the Groupon. But the Groupon was for $400 worth of work and with the additional $143 paid, it was $543 worth of work. Gabe finished the painting job in less than 1 1/2 hours, and that included his set up and clean up time. 30 minutes after Gabe left, I noticed that the paint on my front door started to bubble. The door was not in the sun, so I did not know what was causing the bubbling. The owner, Gabriel Goar had previously told me to purchase Sherwin Williams paint. I bought a gallon of paint for over $75 because I wanted the best quality. The Sherwin Williiams paint should not have bubbled. I immediately took photos, and I sent them to Mr. Goar the following day (March 28, 2012). On April 3, 2012, I received via e-mail from Mr. Goar a 2 year warranty card (starting date of warranty was March 1, 2012 - work was not done until March 27th so I have no idea why the warranty date begins 26 days before the actual work). Since then, I have re-sent the e-mail with the photos of the bubbling paint on my door. Still no response from Mr. Goar. Early on, before Mr. Goar's painter did any work. I did speak with him and he was very friendly and engaging. I guess I was lucky to catch him on the phone, because after that call, I had a very difficult time reaching him. Mr. Goar did not return phone calls even though I left him voice mail messages to do so, and he did not send out estimates in a timely manner as promised. After the work has been done, I still have trouble getting Mr. Goar to call or e-mail me back. As far as I am concerned, his warranty is worthless. Today, my door still has bubbly paint and now a large whitish streak has appeared on the front door which was painted red. My experience with Mr. Goar has been a very trying one. Bad service, poor work, and a seemingly bogus warranty.

I got a livingsocial.com voucher for exterior painting for this company. The owner of the company is extremely friendly and professional. He came out gave a quote and provided me with a fiolder that included my quote, references, warranties, licenses, etc. The quote stated that they would sand and paint 2 coats on the designated areas. Once I decided on what i wanted done, the company was able to come out and get started with a few weeks. The first day they called and let me know they would be starting. I was changing the color of my trim from green to white. They primed the areas. The second day they did not notify me that they were coming. I received a phone call that they were complete and looking for payment. I was at work and then had other plans that did not put me near my home and I did not have an opportunity to inspect the work . The following day when it was day light out, I was able to inspect the work and it was done poorly. First it obvious they had not put on two coats. You could still see the green under the white, the brush strokes were visble, there were areas that were not done that were visble and had not been sanded. It did not look like a professional had done it. I immediately contacted the owner, who was responsive. we did not agree that a coat of primer and one coat of paint equaled 2 coats and I still disagree with that. But I told him that regardless the paint job was done poorly and he needed to inspect. The next day the painters came back out (unannouced) and fixed the problems. Upon my inspection there were still issues that I had to point out and they fixed. So, after MY inspection the trim looks niced but it took me complaining and making sure it was done to standards.

There was a bit of confusion about the arrival time of the painter but that was corrected quickly. The painter did an excellent job with all of the work. In fact he did more than was actually expected.

No work was attempted. The "deal" should have had exceptions stating what they could or couldn't do. I have doubts whether someone even checked the job to see if they could do it. Either way it was bad business not to call me back and explain if there was a reason they wouldn't do the work.

I didn't have work by him, but I did get the estimate. I did think he was really well prepared and very professional. All my neighbors are using him at the moment, so he definitely comes with a great review from them. But I did not personally use him. He was able to give me the estimate right then and there so that was appreciated. He was professional, had all his licenses, and had a lot of paperwork. He was a very nice guy.

The Painter Inc provided us with a very competitive bid to paint the trim in the interior and exterior of our home. They were on time every single day and did majority of the work while we were at work. They cleaned up behind themselves each day and we almost did not even noticed that they renovating our house. The quality of their work is incredible, I would measure it against any painter out there. This was the second time that we used the Painter Inc to paint our house and we absolutely recommend them. Gabriel, the owner, is hands on and his goal is to provide top quality customer service. He was not happy until we were completely satisfied. When all the work was complete, Gabriel personally inspected every inch of the job to ensure that there were no mistakes and anything that needed touching up he took care of it. He team of associates are very knowledgeable and have several years of experience. My wife and I felt very comfortable with them taking care of our home. We will continue to use this company in the future for our painting needs. It is wonderful to see a company like Painter Inc. that is not interested in just taking your money but is truly concerned about pleasing the customer and taking care of their needs. Gabriel runs a very respectable business and does immaculate work. I endorse and recommend them if you are looking for a dedicated, honest, very reasonable and spectacular painter.
