Owner operated. We are That Cabinet Place, Inc., a Hampton Roads, Virginia based company that takes pride in our high standards of customer service since 1999. We provide custom Kitchen and Bath designs and installations to fit your needs and style preferences and offer high quality frameless cabinets in all sizes, shapes and descriptions.
From demo of the old kitchen to the turn key renovation they were awesome and beat other estimates we had received. Highly recommended with first class work all the way. I will be having That Cabinet Place remodel out master bath in the near future.
Description of Work: Completely re deigned the kitchen layout. Dan the owner had his crews totally gutted the old kitchen while installing dust curtain walls to contain the dust to the remodeled space only. Very professional crew with total attention to detail from the plan to the cabinets, granite tops, tile floor and custom backsplash. Dan designed an LED ceiling light design as well as LED under cabinet task lighting. A+ They were very nice and showed up every day and leaving the space clean at all times. None better! Recommended

We were very pleased with this company. They were very responsive to our first inquiry. They listened to our preferences, offered suggestions, and were very prompt in turning around plans. They were under the estimated deadline given, did not go over the estimated price, were on time and courteous. Adam is pleasure to know. Attention to detail was excellent. 2/22/14 Update: As happy as I was with the above service, I have been unable to reach Dan Twiford, owner, by phone to follow-up on an end panel that had to be ordered in November that completed our job 100%. I have also tried to reach him regarding a lien that the countertop company used by TCP has placed on our product. We paid TCP directly and the granite company has filed a lien against our property for payment. I am hoping this can be resolved if TCP can reach out to us. The office number is no longer answered by a TCP employee and is not a wrong number.
Description of Work: Removed wall between two rooms, removed old cabinets, counter tops, and flooring. Installed and relocated new appliances. Complete kitchen remodel including flooring in two additional rooms.

We had a great experience with Dan and his wife at That Cabinet Place. They were extremely pleasant, professional and punctual. Our kitchen needs a major remodel with the movement of our washer and dryer and stove. It was a very involved estimate with all the details spelled out. We were unable to go through with the project because of a potential move in our near future and the high end value of this remodel. If you are looking for your dream kitchen, this is the team to get it done!
Description of Work: Dan gave us an estimate on the remodel of our kitchen.

I called them last summer while I was up in my house in Virginia Beach and looking for someone to do countertop work. When I called he said he was up to his ears in major renovation work, but gave me a wonderful referral. The company he told me about gave me a great timeline to work with, samples, etc. I did have to leave to go to my other home, so I wasn't able to use them, but will be going back to this home in July. I had to call this service provider back to ask for the other company's information and he said he was going to call the place that he referred me to and make sure I get a discount that I would have gotten if I were to have gone with him. I wanted to be sure he got recognition for being so professional! I am very impressed!
Description of Work: I called to get work from him, but he ended up giving me a referral instead.

I'll provide further insight once we decide what were doing and if we end up allowing Dan and That Cabinet Place to perform our work.
Description of Work: Quickly responded to my calls and came right over to get measurements and provide ideas to our remodeling. So far so good, I was supposed to meet with him today however, schedule permitting, which it didn't. Dan stated he could have a quote to us within a week for our kitchen remodeling work (not a full blown remodel). Impressed as of now, we'll see how this turns out.

Overall, I am very pleased. Dan Twiford is the owner and did a wonderful job selling us on the product. He was open to contract modifications up front and provided detailed statements when unforseen issues arose to ensure costs were properly documented. I am pleased with the look and quality of the cabinets. The guarantee is very nice as well. Dan's son, Adam, did the cabinet installation and he did a marvelous job. Adam is a perfectionist and his work speaks for itself. He is also a fine young man. It was certainly a pleasure to have him do the work. They only used high quality materials, waiting for the right trim pieces to come in from the manufacturer as opposed to piecing small pieces together. He and the other workmen were always courteous and they cleaned their workspace everyday. The job of installing the tile went to Mike and Oliver. They both did a wonderful job. As the work progressed, they made sure that we were pleased wih the results and worked with us to improve the design/layout of outlets and phone jacks. They handled the electrical/plumbing subcontractor and were open to changes even after the initial fixture installation was done. If we didn't like the way something looked, they quickly resolved the issue. No problems with city inspections. I couldn't be happier. Whenever there were issues, Dan took care of hem right away to our satisfaction. The job took as long as we expected with the exception of the kitchen subfloor, which extended the job one week. At least now I know my island won't end up in the crawl space. They stand by their work and I trust them completely when they said that they will come back and fix any problems that might arise, including cabinet alignments and any material problems. This is a truly professional business and I would whole heartedly recommend them.
Description of Work: We had our kitchen remodeled as well as some work in our back hall/utility area and powder room off the kitchen. All cabinets were removed, base floor replaced in kitchen and new procelain tile was installed in kitchen as well as down the hall to the bathroom. Kitchen , utility, and bathroom cabinets were replaced with semi custom cabinets. We selected an upper mid-range cabinet with most of the cabinets having upgraded paint instead of stain. We chose to make the center island, built-in bookcase/room divider and bathroom cabinet a stained cherry. Mid-range granite was used to cover all counter top in kitchen and bathroom. Lower-range porcelain tile was chosen for the floors. A floor heating system was installed. High range tile was used for the back splash including an inset piece that required every tile to be specially cut. New appliances were also purchased, but are not included in the cost listed. There were no major changes to the cabinets or appliances. The oven was moved over a little, but no plumbing had to be relocated. We chose drawers and pull out shelves for most of the cabinets. The original subfloor of the kitchen was subpar and had to be replaced, which added to the original estmate.

After leaving several messages on his machine, after about a week, I finally received a response from Dan Twiford, who came out to look at our kitchen. We wanted old cabs removed and new cabs put together and installed, in addition to removal of a soffit over the old cabs (new cabs would go all the way up to ceiling). He seemed amiable at first, but in the end, I guess it was all just a show; he even played the "I have greatest respect for military and thank you for your service" card. I should have taken a hint in the fact that he didn't spend a lot of time looking at our situation. After less than a minute of looking around, he told us that he'd be interested and willing to do the work or pass it along to his son and left us with a promise to provide details of his estimate in an email. We never received an email nor further communication from him. This is not only unprofessional, but disrespectful; don't make promises you won't keep. I'm pretty sure--like many other contractors in this area--that he designated my job as a back-up plan in case other bigger job offers didn't come through. I can appreciate the fact that most contractors want to make the big bucks on $10-20K projects that involve planning and installing custom cabs & counters. But then at least be up-front with your clients instead of leaving them hanging. Instead, he wasted our time, keeping us waiting for his estimate to arrive, when we could have been looking elsewhere.
Description of Work: Came to look at our kitchen, then left, but never sent email, as promised, with estimate details.

Response from That Cabinet Place
Dear Mr. [member name removed], I am truly shocked with your review. That Cabinet Place did in fact send you an e-mail indicating that we would be unable to take on your job, and not as a result of bigger jobs to come. My backlog and prior commitments to other customers that I am actually already under Contract with had to come first. You also mentioned that I gave you the "I support the military". Well, this is very, very, very true. I have had the pleasure of working for quite a few military men and women and understand what sacrifices these individuals make for our country, and their families as well. That was a low blow. In any event, I apologize that you chose to judge me or That Cabinet Place, Inc. in such a way. I am also a little surprised that our dealing occurred December 15, 2012 when I visited your home after hours, and you waited until the end of April, 2013 to give a bad review. I hope your project has been completed and that you are happy with the end results. I just don't know what else to say. To all other Angie's List Members that view this report, please take a moment to read our other reviews of people that we actually did work for and highly satisfied. Sincerely, Dan Twiford, CEO That Cabinet Place, Inc.

Seriously. Look no further than That Cabinet Place for any and all of your kitchen and bathroom renovation needs. Our kitchen was in need of an update (new lights, new countertops, backsplash, under cabinet lighting, etc). We called That Cabinet Place and within a few days had a quote and a plan set. Dan (owner) has great talent working for him. The gentleman that was the mastermind behind our newly ?renovated? kitchen, Mike, is one of the most efficient, pro-active, and engaging contractors my husband and I have ever met. We?ve had worked done on our home in the past, and TCP is by far the best company we have worked with. Not only were their prices fair and reasonable, but they were willing to work with us; in fact, bend over backwards for us, to make sure that the product we received was EXACTLY how we envisioned it. They made it a priority to stay within our allotted budget, and never once suggested or pressured us into any materials or extra work that would of put us over budget (we have had that sort of experience in the past). With our budget, TCP took our vision and literally ran with it. Throughout the planning process, Mike was constantly providing advice and suggesting other ?do-able? options. The craftsmanship and work is impeccable and the attention to detail impressive. I was always able to get a hold of Mike if I had a question about something. The work was completed ahead of schedule and it is absolutely beautiful. We are planning to have our master bathroom renovated and there is no doubt that we will be using That Cabinet Place to design and complete the work.

From the first time I met Dan the owner, I got the impression he was really listening to what I needed. He did not pressure me into 'extras' and after reviewing my old kitchen, he went back to his business and drew up some plans that he felt would meet my needs and would fall within my budget. Upon reviewing the plans that Dan had drawn, it was evident that he really understood how I used the kitchen and what my families needs were. He did not pressure me into purchasing options that were unneeded. When selecting the counter tops and cabinets, and tile, Dan made sure he showed me products that were in my price range, but were also solid and high quality. When Dan's employees came to work on my kitchen and bath - I was even more impressed. Dan's employees are polite, considerate, and they went out of their way to clean up and make sure my home was 'livable' during construction. I was extremely surprised at the excellent craftsmanship demonstrated by his workers. I didn't just purchase a new kitchen and bathroom - I purchased a new kitchen and bathroom that were really handcrafted for me. The cabinets are beautiful - solid and well made. The tile is also gorgeous and the installation is beautiful - flawless. I had ordered the tile from another vendor, and when Dan's tile specialist went to pick it up, he called me concerned with the quality of the tile. The product that arrived at the vendor was not the same quality product I had ordered. Not only did Dan's tile specialist call me and express concern about the quality of the tile, but he had gone out of his way and went to four additional tile vendors looking for similar tile, in quantities that were available. As a result, the work was completed on time and with quality products. This was above and beyond my expectations. You don't find many companies that put out the quality of work or dedication that Dan and his employees demonstrate. I work full time and people at my work were shocked at how much That Cabinet Place went the extra mile to make sure I was a satisfied customer.
Description of Work: In the Kitchen, That Cabinet Place replaced my kitchen cabinets, counter tops, back splash, and sink. In the Bathroom, That Cabinet Place removed my vinyl floor replacing it with tile, and, converted a bathtub into a tiled shower. They also added a light in the shower and replaced my toilet.

They did an absolutely superb job. The owner Dan Twiford has a vast knowledge about kitchens and knows how to design one and execute installing it. We consider that he has done a perfect job. We are completely 100% satisfied. All of his employees and his subcontractors were very good and pleased us at every turn. They kept all of their promises. He arrived and I started telling him what we were wanting to do in the kitchen. We are keeping the same design. As I was showing him the appliances we put on order. We get to the chimeny vent, I informed him that there is already a vent in the wall behind the microwave. He was not for sure how it vented out of the house. I showed him what I knew on how it is vented. We get to the dual fuel stove, I explained that we want to go from electric to gas. The current gas line for the water heater is in the garage and we have been told it could be done. At this point, he told me he was going to pass on the job because of the vent or the gas line. We are a two story on a slab and it was going to be difficult. I showed him the vent at the back of the house. My husband came into the conversion at this time, explaining the vent and gas line. We let him know that we were fine with them going into the walls for the gas line. At this time, he told my husband he was going to pass on the job. When my husband asked why, he stated "It is because of the gas line and the vent, I am so busy right now that I am able to pick and choose my jobs" "I currently have a 3 month back log and not for sure of your time frame". I responded that we have waiting 6 months already and he cut me off saying it was best for him not to take the job and there are many other contractors out there that are hungry for work. If I was able to finish my sentence, I was going to say that we have waited 6 months and are willing wait to get what we want. I was really upset. You wouldn't think a class "A" contractor would NOT have a problem with a stove vent or a gas line. He cutt me off a few times, which upset me that I wasn't able to finish a sentence with him. I'm glad business is so well for him that he is able to pick what jobs he wants to do.
Description of Work: I seen he was rated really high on Angies list and called for an estimate for our kitchen remodeled. I wanted a company that could do all the things for us. (cabinets, countertops, run a gas line and put in a new vent, and remove soffits).

I find it rather odd that this member initially gave me a B rating on September 19, 2012 then turned around and changed that B rating to an F rating on October 19, 2012. I was as honest as I could be with this member about getting involved with her project as there were aspects of work that I did not feel comfortable taking on. Yes, I declined to do her work trying to explain why I didn't want to take on her job. At that time, her and her husband became very ugly. Yes, I did tell her that I had a backlog of work for at least three months. Yes, I did tell her that as a contractor, I feel I am able to pick and choose what jobs I take on, but NEVER did I tell this member that "I am so busy I have a right to pick and choose what jobs I take on" I simply did not feel comfortable taking this job on at that time due to my backlog of work, and the way they treated me from the time I arrived at the home, and their unwillingness to listen to what I was trying to explain regarding the difficulities concerning certain things they wanted to have done in the home. At any rate, I am sorry that this member was not happy. I hope she finds someone that will be able to please her because it seems no matter what I would have said or done would have made this member happy. I am honest with my customers, have been in business for 13 years, and have never had anyone treat me the way this member has. PLEASE REVIEW some of my other member reviews that we actually did work for and they will speak for themselves. Sincerely, Daniel Twiford

A truly fantastic experience from start to finish. If you are considering having countertops installed, or an entire kitchen or bath remodeled, save yourself some time and simply call Dan at That Cabinet Place. We contacted four different well known marble/granite installers in the area prior to hiring Dan. Dan was the only one who came out in person to see the kitchen and take measurements prior to giving us an estimate. This helped to ensure that the price was accurate, as well as allowed him to see what was there to estimate the degree of difficulty in tear out, installation, etc. OF ABSOLUTE IMPORTANCE - That Cabinet Places is the ONLY company we found that truly handled all aspects of new countertop installation to include tear out, haul away the old, install the new, and reattach your wiring and plumbing. The plumbing aspect is critical. When you install new countertops, you will often get a new sink which will be deeper or more anterior than your current one. As such, the garbage disposal, P trap and undersink waste will shift location and may need some serious rearrangement. All other companies DID NOT DO THIS. You were on your own to hire a plumber or do it yourself. However, That Cabinet Place did it all - and did it well. Every person we met from the company was punctual, professional, and were expert in their area. The job was completed ahead of schedule and looks wonderful. We will absolutely use That Cabinet Place again for any future kitchen/bath remodeling. Finally, not only was the work outstanding, but the pricing was also extremely competitive. Call Dan. You will not be disappointed.

That Cabinet Place did a superb job in replacing the counter tops in our kitchen. From start to finish, they were very professional, worked around our schedule, arrived on time, and cleaned up after the job so that I didn't even know that they had been here! Mike, the tile man, even came up with a design idea that really enhanced and added to the charm and appearance of the kitchen counters!! I had a small problem with the sink that was replaced and Dan and his team replaced it, no questions asked, and in a very timely manner. I would recommend them to anyone without hesitation!

Overall the job was completed within the time Dan quoted at our consultation. He told us that the job would take four to six weeks and the entire project was finished in four and a half weeks. The initial price quote was for $24,400 but we elected to have some upgrades to include higher grade granite as well as a new door installed in the kitchen to our outdoor seating area. As with any construction work I was worried about additional hidden charges that they would find in our old home that wasn't quoted initially. Dan assured me that anything they found that needed correction he would be fair and work with me to correct the deficiencies. During the remodel it was discovered that the dishwasher had leaked and destroyed the subfloor. Dan fixed the issue for his cost adding nothing more which I appreciated very much. I must say that I was thoroughly impressed with Adam, who installed the cabinets and did the carpentry work, and Mike who worked the floor and backsplash tile. Their work was really exceptional. I had uneven floors in this older home and they did a fantastic job correcting those issues and installed a beautiful product. The final product is a beautiful kitchen which is certainly one of the nicest in this area. Couldn't be happier with the service Dan provided and the attentiveness he had to correct any issues as they arose. The day after the kitchen sink was installed it developed a slow drain. This is something that I expected considering the drain hadn't been used in 4 weeks but he had his plumber at the house within an hour to clear it. Even though the kitchen wasn't completed yet he wanted us to have access to running water in the kitchen. I appreciate that kind of response. I would certainly use Dan Twiford again to do work in my home and would recommend him to anyone who asks or is looking for a kitchen or bath remodel. His quote was at or below other quotes I received for this job. Excellent work!
Description of Work: 1948 Cape Cod kitchen remodel. Had wall removed that separated the kitchen and dining room and had a complete kitchen remodel. Dan sounded quite interested in the job he came out and took measures. He was suppose to email me with a price . The only email I received was a week later with him telling me he could not do my job because of two other jobs he had to do. I had no time frame to get this work done in. I think that because I was not remodeling the whole kitchen the job was not bid enough for him. I think he should have been up front with me from the start and not waste my time. ck

Response from That Cabinet Place
In response to the member's report, I indicated to her that I would be back in touch with her within a week which I did. Unfortunately, I started two new jobs and once we got in to do the tear outs on both jobs, there was pre-existing damage such as rotting structural problems which had to be addressed before we could move forward with what we were contracted to do. Therefore, it put my schedule in somewhat of a bind. I would like to point out that I did spend about two hours with the member, however, I did not want to take on her job at that time and I advised her accordingly. I did not feel it would have been fair to her to wait for me as she indicated she already had another estimate and she seemed ready to move forward rather quickly which I not in a position to do for her at that particular time.

After several quotes from other companies we decided to use " That Cabinet Place" for our kitchen remodel. I'm glad we did. The owner, Dan Twiford did an excellent job from start to finish with this project. From the start Dan was very helpful and experienced. Our first appointment with him, he let us express our views of what we envisioned and then expanded to make them better. Dan was NEVER pushy and always came up with the best solution for the project. He had some awesome ideas that made this project PERFECT. Before we committed with his company, he spent countless hours preparing our designs and never asked for any money. Several companies that I contacted for estimates wanted money up front for design work. He never asked about our budget and we never felt pressured. He offered his experience in planning and design for this project. After the project started, there were several changes that WE made and Dan was happy to make them happen. Adam and Mike worked on our remodel, both are top notch carpenters and had awesome attitudes. They both came to our house each day and ALWAYS had positive attitudes. They would always listen and answer any concerns that we had during the remodel. They had several excellent ideas that we used. They are both very knowledgeable and courteous. They built a dust curtain to separate the work area from rest of the house. Our living area was virtually dust free and undisturbed. They cleaned up the work area EVERYDAY. There was someone working almost everyday on the remodel. Every person who works for Dan is polite and knowledgeable. Dan did a great job scheduling, the job started on time and finished on time without delay. From start to finish, this company did an OUTSTANDING job on our remodel. I definitely would use this company.
Description of Work: We had a total kitchen remodel. The remodel included demolition, removal of a wall, new electrical circuits, new lighting, new gas line, new subfloor and floor, cabinets, countertops, tile, trim, and appliance installation. The removal of the wall allowed for a more open feeling and a new bar top. The new electrical circuits brought the kitchen up to current code, undercabinet lighting and recessed lighting. Added a new gas line for the stove. constructed a new subfloor to support the new kitchen. Added new cabinets throughout the kitchen area. Installed quartz countertops, Installed new decorative tile backsplash and replaced trim around the windows and baseboards.

We had used Dan before for a bathroom, so we knew that the quality of the work would be high. The job went very smoothly. His people were here every day, often all day, so it wasn't the kind of scenario you hear about where the contractor disappears halfway through the job. I'm sure that Dan isn't the cheapest, but we are willing to pay more for quality and in truth the kitchen cost less than we had anticipated. Dan is a very honest businessman; for instance, I agreed to have the floor put in the family room based on a rough estimate, and when he worked the price out more carefully it was actually $400 less than what I had agreed to pay. When I called about a few odds and ends that need to be dealt with after the work was ostensibly over, someone was here within a hour to fix them. We wouldn't use anyone else for this sort of work.
Description of Work: Entirely remodel kitchen Replace wood trim in family room and install hardwood floor and crown molding. Various oddjobs around house
Outstanding organization. I would highly recommend this company. If you are in the market to find a company that listens to what you want and can work with you through the entire process from design and material selection through permits and contracting, That Cabinet Place is the best choice. Several trades were involved; carpentry, plumbing, electrical, drywall and plastering, tiling and glasswork. Each and every tradesman was professional, polite and left the work area very clean each day. It was a pleasure having these professionals in our home. My wife and I were preparing for our youngest daughter's wedding. The remodeling was scheduled to begin the first week after the wedding. The bath being remodeled was directly over the kitchen. Three weeks before the wedding the kitchen ceiling began to leak! That Cabinet Place came out and repaired the shower tiles that were causing leak. One week prior to the wedding, our A/C (located in attic) backed up and we had another ceiling leak in the front foyer two stories high! Once again, That Cabinet Place, responded with an emergency repair and "saved the day". We are delighted with the finished product and look forward to enjoying the bath for years to come. We are currently planning for further work to be done in our home and That Cabinet Place has secured our loyalty.
Description of Work: Completely remodeled master bath. From consulting, design, demolition old bath, to complete installation of new bathroom.

This was my second attempt at working with That Cabinet Place. A year before, when my husband and I had just bought our house, I contacted this business to give us an estimate on a remodel of the master bathroom. I went into the shop on several occasions and brought Dan (the owner) drawings and discussed the general design direction. Though he claimed to be interested in the project, he NEVER made an appointment to come to the house to review the room or take any measurements of his own. After repeatedly calling him in an effort to make some progress on the project I finally reached him (he rarely actually returns calls) only to have him tell me that he wasn't interested in the project. Fair enough. Perhaps the design was too much of a custom job and, despite the name of the company, this was not actually their specialty. A year later when we finally were ready to install simple cabinetry and counter tops in our laundry room, I contacted TCP again, giving them the benefit of the doubt. This time Dan was ill and his delay in returning the call was understandable. I did eventually reach him when he was back at work and he came to the house to look at the space and take some measurements. Though he never did call me when he said he would, I continued to call him...every week. He made grand promises, telling me about the fabulous sketches he had done and how excited he was to show them to me. There was always "just one more number" that he was waiting on from a sub-contractor. I told him I would be happy to simply see the sketches and look at the pricing he DID have. He always said, "OK." but I never did see a drawing. After many weeks of calling and no longer actually reaching Dan and never receiving a call back my charity expired. I called a wonderful cabinet maker that I should have started with in the first place. He had built our bathroom vanity for us the year before and it is beautiful. He is so responsive and professional and his work is top-notch and well-priced. Despite countless messages left, I never did hear from Dan at TCP again...although he was supposedly "so excited" to show me his sketches. As my husband says, it's good to know the cabinet business is doing so well in this economy that they can treat potential clients this way. Perhaps we should get into the business too...I am just amazed that TCP remains in operation at all.
Description of Work: Measurements were taken for a simple laundry room installation - cabinets & counter top.

Response from That Cabinet Place
Sorry we could not take on the job for the member. She had asked us for a free drawing and quote. I had been ill during that time as she knew. As far as the first bathroom job she said I looked at when she came into my store. She did not come in with any drawings at all, she only asked to borrow a catalog of drawer slides. Our reputation speaks for itself in regard to response, workmanship and many, many A+ reviews. It is hard to believe she would go out of her way to post such a negative report based on the fact we never wanted to do any of her work while I was ill and could not manage the job. Yes, That Cabinet Place has been running strong for ten years now. Although we try very hard, we can't please all of the people all of the time.
Met with owner Dan in Nov 10. Impressed by his show room. Dan measured kitchen, provided estimate and plan. we reviewed and made a few changes. Dan was extremely helpful in the process of exactly defining our desired kitchen and provided excellent advise. Very professional. The contract we signed defined the schedule. Work started Jan 10 2011 right on schedule. After the workers moved our refrigerator to our enclosed patio that we would use as a makeshift kitdchen, the first order of business was to install a polyethelene wall in our family room and a second plastic barrier at the dining room door to keep any dust from demolition within the work space. A great idea. This barrier was kept in place throughout the construction. We noted that the work men, Adam (Dan's son) and Mike were good about cleaning up after themselves throughout the construction. Work took 6 weeks, but there was little down time. They move right along with workers showing up each day. The electrical and plumbing contractor, Jessie Wilson, Dan uses is excellent and eager to do things right. Adam and Mike worked the cabinet installation, trim, floors and tiling. Attention to detail was wonderful. We made a decision to go to granite countertops after we visited the showroom where Dan sends his clients. We were impressed by the careful measurements made by the company to assure a good fit. Few projects go without some issues. One section of granite was not cut to plan and had to be returned. However, the company made good and recut and reinstalled the piece within a week. The project ended right on time 24 Feb 2011. Our home is a 1970 house, the kitchen remodel is so well designed that it is seemlessly integrated and gives the impression that it is part of the original design.
Description of Work: This Kitchen remodel included removing a wall, expanding the kitchen, adding an island, new hardwood floors in kitchen area and tile floor in adjacent laundry area and bathroom, New cabinets and counter tops iin kitchen and laundry area to make a pantry, New crown molding, New lighting, Tile backsplash.

I wish that I could give them an A+. Out experience was fantastic. We met with Dan and talked to him about our budget and our vision for a new kitchen. We wanted to removed the wall between the kitchen and the family room. We also wanted to move the stove, microwave, and fridge to new locations, replace the 40 year-old cabinets and counter-tops, and put in a new floor. We also filled in a door and widened a door. We talked about ways to make our vision realistic within our budget. We decided to do all of the demolition ourselves. Dan took time to come out and give us advice during our demolition. Once we were ready his guys came in and worked dilligently. Adam and Michael are artists! They installed the cabinets perfectly and they look great. They were polite, professional, and cleaned up everyday. They worked quickly and I was amazed at how fast the cabinets went in. The team that did the electrical work and plumbing were also great. They did a great job and were willing to come back to double check when a sears technician made a mistake. The whole process was so smooth. There were a couple of very small hiccups, but Dan quickly fixed everything that came up. I also appreciated that Dan made our kitchen what we wanted it to be. He did not try to talk us into something that he wanted. He listened to our ideas and made the design exactly what we asked for. He would give us his advice when we asked for it. But when we knew what we wanted, he would listen and make it happen. We got everything that we wanted in our kitchen. I am so happy that we went with Dan. I would recommend him without reservations and would do business with him again.
Description of Work: Dan put our kitchen together after we demolished it. They installed cabinets, countertops, circuits, gas lines, sink, gabage disposal and appliances. He also ran new water lines. He also put us in touch with people to do plastering, drywall, and flooring.
