Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

After three tries, the clog was finally removed from the home we just moved into. We are forever grateful to Shawn Prunty our technician...you don't realize how convenient and wonderful indoor plumbing is until you've lost it.

Within 2 hours of contacting technician showed up. The technician was very precessional and explained work to be performed. I was very satisfied and will use them again in the future.

We have been using this provider for over 15 years for our home built during the Kennedy administration. We have always found them to be prompt, courteous, efficient, and cost competitive. This last service call went above and beyond our expectations, literally saving us thousands of dollars over what could have been a major renovation to our home. Had we used a "Billy Joe Bob's plumbing." Our technician found that our shower faucets which were leaking badly used and out dated valve assembly. He had never seen before. After sending photos to one of their older technicians, it was determined that this technology had not been used for decades. It was initially thought that they would have to tear out the wall and totally replace all of the plumbing for the shower. Our technicians spent literally hours driving all over town to various plumbing supply houses in order to find the replacement parts, and wound up charging us 50 dollars over the initial estimate to cover the cost of the replacement parts. This level of dedication saved us days of inconvenience and literally thousands of dollars in added expense. I can't imagine another independent contractor going to such lengths versus just saying they needed to perform the extra costly (and profitable) work. I give this vendor my highest recommendation, not only for 15 years of excellent service, but for a true dedication To quality customer service

I had two toilets that continuously ran and they came and rebuilt the inside of each toilet.

The following morning, Mike returned, and determined the problem was with at blockage at the city sewer side. Charged us $100 for the 2 visits, and all the time. We contacted the city, who sent out a crew. The problem was "theirs," and they clear the line.

Yorktown, VA 93693. We called Roto-Rooter in a mild panic after the downstairs toilet began gushing soapy (?) water that was being discharged during the nearby washing machine's drain cycle. The main water exit line was totally occluded, stopping all sources of water from exiting the house. Andy, (Tech # 1264) arrived on time and set to work with his huge line auger. He had to pull the toilet to get to the exit line as the house has no clean out. He worked dilgently and efficiently, good-naturedly answering all our many questions as he worked. After the line was cleared, he replaced any necessary toilet components and reinstalled the toilet. We are very satisfied with both the repair experience and the repair!

It was excellent. Other people had a hard time with it and they didn't have any trouble. I was very impressed with them. The price was reasonable. They were efficient, quick and dependable. They didn't charge too much.

They were very expensive with a sink repair and misdiagnosed a problem in the crawl space. **UPDATE** The issues were resolved with the service provider.

They always seem to do a pretty good job. They got there on time and they cleared it. They are very professional. They did the job and left.

We were very satisfied. I think they had a better understanding than a plumber who came out previously with another company. I think they were able to get the part & installed it. They confirmed that we were getting hot water before they left. It took them 2 hrs or less to do the fix.

Had a few issues with 1) communication of pricing. When they give you an estimate for a sewage line and suggest you also have the water line replaced, get them to add the water line estimate to the sewage line estimate so you have both in writing. 2) stairs were damaged in the removal of them. I chose to have them replaced on my own since I was more concerned with the first issue. 3) watch the company they hire to dig. They dug up with no problems. However, when replacing the dirt, they damaged my Japanese cherry blossom tree I'd pruned to a specific shape over the course of 8 years. I am pretty upset about that. By the time the project was completed I'd spent some time on the phone with a manager, come to a mediocre agreement just to get the necessary work done with. It's never pleasant to have a collapsed sewage line but the rest of the problems I'll be dealing with for a while. As of now, I'm using a ladder for my back door steps till I have time to make new ones.

The plumber, Robert, was friendly, professional and thorough. After placing the call for service, we received two update calls letting us know when we could expect service. The technician arrived on-time and resolved the problem in under an hour. He explained everything as he worked and took his time to make sure everything was done correctly. It cost $295, but I was able to use an Angie's List coupon which brought it down to $255.

Having used numerous plumbers previously who were unable to locate the problem, called for more drastic and expensive measures and left behind a messy scene in the shower and toilet and never showed up again despite promising to come back, we decided to go with Roto-Rooter. Our overall experience was fantastic. Fast response time, professional service and most importantly, detection and fixing of our problem!! Our technician came out twice after having spent multiple hours the first day trying different options around the house. He released pressure from a pipe, reset our toilet, and fixed our stoppage due to old sludge in the shower drain. We just moved into our new home and came across several plumbing issues and were quite relieved that the problem was not a large scale one and happy to pay the fee. We strongly recommend Roto-Rooters to anybody looking for a reliable and professional service provider and would always resort to them again. Thanks so much for your speedy help!!

I initially thought Wayne's quote of $2,250 was overpriced. Wayne took the time to explain the different types of water heaters, and that I could either buy another direct vent water heater to replace my old direct vent water heater, which would cost about $1,500 (comparable to the prices of direct vent water heaters on Home Depot's website), or that I could get a standard vent water heater, which would cost a third as much, bu would entail cutting new holes in my roof, and closing off the current holes in my wall. I went with the first option. He ran into some unexpected obstacles with the job due to the dimensions of the new heater and the layout of the space in my house, but he stuck to the quote he gave me. The job took longer than he thought it would, but I can't complain. I called Roto Rooter a little before 1 PM, and had hot water again by 8:30 PM the same day. A real stand up guy.

ORIGINALLY PLACED A NEGATIVE REVIEW, HOWEVER, THE MANAGER CONTACTED ME AND CORRECTED THE OVERCHARGED BILLING AND REFUNDED A SUBSTANTIAL AMOUT OF THE ORIGINAL COST OF THE TWO SERVICES. THE MANAGER DID TREAT ME WELL AND GAVE ME THE REFUND AND I AM VERY APPRECIATIVE. THE COST SHOWN WAS THE ORIGINAL COST OF THE TWO SERVICES ON THE SAME DAY (SATURDAY).

When he first got here he quoted us a very high rate but then it was not as bad as he had thought and he kindly lowered the rate. I think they quote for the worst case

They did great. What stood out specifically was that they were available on a Sunday. We called them at 7.30 am and someone was there. They were prompt; they came by 9.20 am, so they came less than two hours later and got started right away. What was particularly good was they were prompt and available on a Sunday, when a lot of plumbers are not available or charge extra rates. Roto-Rooter did not charge extra rates for Sunday service. We really didn’t experience anything negative with them, it was A plus all the way through.

Apparently last night while watching TV, our dishwasher caused a backup and water flooded out of the bathroom into the hallway. We discovered the problem and immediately went online to schedule Roto-Rooter to come clear the line. We printed out the online coupon and received an email confirmation within 15 minutes. Roto-Rooter called the in the morning to let us know they were very busy but somebody would be out in 1 to 1 1/2 hours. About an hour later they arrived. The employee who came out 1 1/2 years ago had relocated (we requested him online because he was good and nice) but another knowledgeable employee was sent. The employee was very professional and quickly confirmed the issue. He cleared the line, provided tips for preventative care, and offered to have somebody contact us for a quote regarding the tree roots in our line. After testing everything, he processed the coupon and we happily paid for the professional service. As a note, last time we used Roto-Rooter they came out in the middle of the night and did a great job.

We scheduled an appointment online, very convenient. Shawn P came to the door and was very polite, knowledgable and helpful. Within minutes he had our problem fixed! We really appreciate the fast and professional service.

We had used Roto-Rooter where I work in November 2013. Our Company was very pleased with Ernie Smith who was dispatched for the job. At my home on April 23 we were having some issues with drains not going down correctly. I called several companies . and most would not give me a quote even after I told them what was going on, which I understand to some degree but they would not even give me a ballpark range. I called Roto-Rooter at (757) 499-6927 and asked if they had a Ernie Smith working for them and dispatcher said yes, I asked if I could leave my name and number to have Ernie call me and the dispatcher said no problem, about 10 minutes later Ernie Smith called me and I told him what was going on and he quoted me a price which included using the camera to see what was going on inside the drains and to snake out the drains. I asked Ernie Smith to come out and he gave me the time he would be here. He was prompt and on time. Ernie Smith was very professional and took the time to explain everything he was doing from using the camera and let me watch and explain what the camera was seeing. He found roots growing and then snaked out the line to get the roots out and went back with the camera to make sure there were no more roots or obstructions.He also put a chemical down the drain which is to help clean the lining of the drains and this was included in the price. I cannot express how PLEASED I WAS WITH THE SERVICE THAT MR. ERNIE SMITH PROVIDED. If I ever need plumbing services again I will not hesitate to call Roto-Rooter and ask for Ernie Smith.

they went under the house and fixed the pipe with no major issues and the price was as promised , they fully cleaned up after themselves and even recommended a clean up service with a free estimate ,very cool and very fast ..

While I didn't experience any flooding or serious plumbing ugliness, I knew something was wrong when my toilets bubbled while water drained from tubs or sinks. The city came, checked their area, and disavowed responsibility. The RR plumber, Zack, quickly started his search for my outdoor pipe. Found it, dug to it, saw there was no trapdoor or other access to snake it, so he made one, snaked it, and the repair was underway. No more bubbling or gurgling while water ran and drained from tub/sink. Unfortunately, my washer (with an unfinished load in it) overflowed when turned back on. Zack snaked that too and knew immediately when the clog had cleared. 3 hours later......problem solved. What a huge relief!
