Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

worker was on time... Worker was polite... Gave a verbal roundabout estimate nothing in writing... Successfully repaired the problem which took a total of 2 hours and the bill came to $525 which included a $75 discount. the verbal estimate was $600. I only agreed to the original verbal estimate because I thought that the job would take a lot longer so I am very puzzled as to why it was this expensive.the materials cost could not have possibly been more then $30 maximum so that leaves nearly $500 in labor cost for just 2 hours of work. that is just plain ridiculous!!

Brad was incredibly fast, we called to set up appointment and he was at the house in 45 minutes. He spent a few minutes finding out the problems we were having, fixed the garbage disposal in next to no time and didn't charge for it. Then he snaked the main shower and cleared our pipes. He also provided us with a drain care product good for all the drains in house to keep them from backing up with a 1 year guarantee. Afterwards, he checked the other drains ... just to make sure they were running smoothly. He was fast, friendly and incredibly helpful - What a great representative of the Company! Just what we needed in an emergency situation - Ask for Brad 3036!!!

We were contacted quickly. Had a service provider in a matter of hours..,.on a Sunday. Not an emergency but good to know they are available if one did occur. Tech was professional, diagnosed problem right away. Overall excellent experience and would highly reccommend.

You really CANNOT schedule services online. Their website makes it appear as if you are scheduling a service time. That set ME up for disappointment. Their contact person DID call me within the service window. I was told someone would be there within the hour An hour later I was told there would be a delay. 2 hours after that phone call, the contact person still could not say when someone would arrive However, 15 minutes later a technician did arrive He went right to work and kept me informed of progress throughout. He ran into trouble with 2 parts that broke during the service but other than a discounted charge for the replacement parts (only) the labor charge quoted at the start was the same. VERY Pleased with the results.

Roto-Rooter was very accommodating in getting a technician out for the job on the same day! It took less than an hour for him to remove the toilet off the floor, inspect, and reinstall with a new wax ring. I rated Price a "B" because I paid $25 for $75 worth of plumbing, but the actual service cost over $200. The tech didn't know the service call was an Angie's List promotion, so he took $75 off the final bill. Essentially, I paid $25 for a $75 coupon...not quite the Big Deal I thought I purchased. Nonetheless, he was professional, took the time to educate me in this area on my non-expertise, and cleaned the work area when the job was complete.

$289 for the use of a $20 (at best) drain snake and a highly sophisticated tool: coat hanger! Yep, won't call them again. Also, the serviceman was not able to get the strainer loose and offered no advice on repair. For $289, I was not impressed. **Update** - I was recently contacted by Roto-Rooter. The owner/manager (cannot remember exactly) was very polite and courteous while offering to make things right. He graciously adjusted the price and offered to send another technician out to look at the drain and see if they could repair it. Max (I believe) showed up on time and worked diligently to solve the problem. He discovered (after working with the drain to get it apart) that the pop-up drain was damaged and needed to be replaced. He went out briefly to get the part needed and quickly returned to install it. I would not ask for anything more as this was all that was required from the first visit. I would have also felt a little better about the pricing on the initial visit if the first technician (plumber) had gone to the same lengths to actually "repair" what was causing the problem. Thanks to the follow-up, service recovery (making things right), and repair performed by Max, I will be more likely to call Roto-Rooter again in the future

called on a Sunday about 2:30pm and they were here by 3:45pm. Cleaned out the clogged garbage disposal and were finished by 4:30pm.

Excellent service. I called in the morning and had an appointment by the afternoon. The office called prior to the technician arriving and the technician arrived right on time. The technician (Henry) was professional and explained what he was doing. Very pleased with service.

Great service. Hot water heater died late Sunday night. Set up appointment online. Lee Huffman a representative from Roto-Rooter came out and told me what had happened, and how they could replace it, etc. Came back early morning with the new hot water heater and installed it. Hot water works perfect! The best part is, he estimated to be here for about 4 hours, but was done in about 2. He underpromised and over delivered! HIghly recommend!

We called Roto-Rooter Plumbers, Virginia Beach, VA, on 18 May about a stopped up commode. Alonzo, employee 1678, was dispatched to take care of our problem, and arrived within the appointment window we had been promised. After talking to Alonzo about the commode and some other plumbing problems we were having, we decided to avail ourselves of the whole house sewer line/drain cleaning special. Alonzo was very professional. He knew his job very well, which made us comfortable we had made the right decision. He took care of the commode stoppage first, which was caused by a large amount of wipes that had been flushed by our great-grandson. He then was very thorough in cleaning all the sewer lines, and all the drains in the sinks. He cleaned everything up as he proceeded, put everything back he had to take out of the cabinets, and left everything in great shape. Alonzo was a very personable young man, and was very patient in answering our questions. We have no hesitation in recommending this young man, and his company, and would assign both of them five-star ratings. We were thoroughly satisfied in dealing with Roto-Rooter and Alonzo. We would definitely use this company again, and would recommend them to our friends.

lthe plumber's name was Wayne and his employee number is 108 . He was extremely professional and the most polite worker we have ever met . I would recommend him , before any one else !! And this not the first plumber I have delt with !!!! This man should be well recognized by his employers .

We were so impressed with Roto Rooter. We booked an appointment on their website at 6 a.m. this morning and immediately received a confirmation. About an hour later, they called to confirm and let us know the tech was on the way. His name was Wayne (Tech #108) and he arrived just after 8 a.m. He located the cleanout in the backyard, snaked it out to the street, and was very professional, friendly and informative the entire time. He answered our questions about preventive maintenance and gave us a complimentary bottle of Pipe Shield to use monthly. Plus, they guarantee the work for six months. The entire experience was an A+ from start to finish. If we ever need this service again, they will be our first choice for sure.

They were on time. They came out and fixed it. I didn’t have any problem. I thought the price was a little high.

Dispatcher sent the wrong technician at first, the gentleman was an older man who did not want to go under the house even though we had explained the problem ahead of time. The job was passed on to Ernie who was very capable and able to correct the problem quickly and efficiently. The price was very fair for the job that was performed. We were very pleased with the outcome

Well Mr. Gerry, first diagnosed the problem by letting the tub run then tried to flush the toilet in which the tub started leaking at the base. Then tub started to back up, so Mr. Gerry went outside to the clean out and ran a snake down it an it didn't work. So he removed the toilet by turning off the water first then drained the tank with a small wet vac and the toilet. Brought out the big snake went to work on the drain and found out the problem was where so close to the main line I wouldn't been able to fix it. A big thank to Mr. Gerry for his professionalism, his courteousness, Thank You again and Roto Rooter as well.

The plumber unclogged the kitchen drain. He charged too much money, but I was desperate with guests coming. He ran the snake through four times. He had the good equipment, but I feel he took advantage of me.

Excellent! as always! this is our third time we have used Roto-Rooter and each time was a great experience.

After not receiving an estimate and getting wrong information, I posted a complaint on this site. Brady Howard responded and apologized and requested a second chance, to at least furnish us with an estimate. After talking with him, we felt confident to give him this opportunity. As it turns out, we just retained the company and accepted their proposal. Once the work is completed, we will post another update.

This is my third call to Roto-Rooter and all of my experiences so far have been great. In terms of price, I know there are plumbers out there that are a bit cheaper and do a good job, but smaller outfits I've called often take days to get back to me or their evening appointments are only for emergency service, which translates into extra fees. Frankly, when it comes to something as unpleasant as a plumbing emergency, I want to take care of it ASAP, but I also need to continue to go to work, so I am willing to pay a little bit more for convenient service times. That brings me to the online scheduling system. I love that fact that I can schedule online and set my own appointment window, whether it is 11 at night or 4 in the morning. No leaving messages, no waiting for someone to call me back, missing their call and calling them back,, etc. etc. I go online, I set my appointment and then I go about my business. They are always on-time or will promptly call if delayed on another service call. When they arrive they are in uniform and are always professional and polite. My house is relatively old (1959), still has lots of "character" (i.e. cast iron pipes) and has had a regular maintenance schedule of almost never, so I am always on guard for the hard sell - It's easy to look around and point out all the things that I should replace now if only I had an endless supply of money. However, in 3 separate Roto-Rooter visits with 3 different technicians, not one has asked me how old my water heater is, or tried to sell me new pipes or additional services of any kind. They come in, do the work, and give me good tips on how to take care of what I have, which has left me with nothing but respect and trust for Roto-Rooter and the technicians they hire. I have always been wary of national business franchises because I've heard so many horror stories, but my experience with Roto-Rooter in Virginia Beach has completely changed my perspective.

Excellent service. I had a severely clogged sink that I was unable to unclog. I called Roto-Rooter around 9:00 AM and got an appt for the afternoon. I got a call about 30 minutes prior to the plumber's arrival. Brad was our plumber and he was great. He was friendly and quite knowledgeable. He quickly cleared the clog and gave me good information on how to prevent the problem from happening again. I would definitely call Roto-Rooter again for plumbing problems.

I arrived home to find the technician waiting for me after realizing I was out during my scheduled time, but highly appreciated. This was an error on my end due to having so many errands I need to complete. He was extremely friendly and professional. He made a quick assessment of the problem within 3-5 min. He determined that the toilet and upper drain areas needed to be augered out. This was done in a matter of 10 min including checking his work over to ensure that the toilet works as it should. He was in and out in no more than 25-30 min. Awesome job!!

Brad Milner provided outstanding service in a highly professional manner. He quickly diagnosed the problem, and thoroughly explained why it had occurred and what our options were to fix it. He meticulously set to work taking great care to avoid unnecessary damage or mess to the work areas. He was done in less than an hour. We are extremely please and will not hesitate to call again for any of our future plumbing needs.

The work was quick and quiet enough that our kids slept through the whole process.

I called around and they were the only one that would help me at 10:30 at night. They told me what to do to shut the water off and to shut the electricity off to the water heater. That happened on a Thursday or Friday and then they came out that Monday, took the water heater out, and got everything setup to put a new water heater in about two days later.
