Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Was not very happy with them. I had them out six months prior, and they failed to fixed it. They came back out, and then fixed it, but charged me, because it had been six months. Simply because they do quality work, but it took them a second time to do so. The price is also a reason. They are pretty punctual. Basically, they can respond to an emergency call, but the quality of work does not meet expectation. No problems with cleanliness.

They are very responsive and professional: the dispatcher calls promptly after the initial appointment is made and lets you know that a technician is on his way (whether the technician arrives exactly when scheduled is another matter). I've never known them to do less than competent work. Their prices are in the mid to high range, but that's understandable given their superior service; on two occasions they didn't charge me for their time/trouble when, for different reasons, we decided not to proceed with the work in question.

Snaked clean-out. Very easy job as the clean-out was in the slab floor. Took about 30 minutes and paid over $300.

I am so pleased with the work and service that I received from Roto Rooter. I discovered a leak on Friday morning and made an appointment for the following Monday -- so we had to wait three days with a leak in our dining room. That company never showed up, so I called several others. They either did not return my call, or were not available that day. When I called Roto Rooter they had someone there within about two hours. As I also had plaster damage, they sent a water damage restoration worker as well. They were both from Roto Rooter, which made coordinating with both of them very easy and really lowered my stress about the entire situation. All three gentlemen were professional, friendly, and easy to get in touch with, even after normal work hours. Next time I need a plumber I will definitely call them first.

Everything went very smoothly. Our old kitchen faucet was leaking and we decided it would be a good time to replace it with a new one. We bought a new faucet on Monday and then scheduled an appointment for Tuesday morning. The company called us a half hour before the technician arrived to let us know he was on the way. He showed up, we told him what we wanted done, he gave us a written estimate, we accepted and he got to work. Before long he had the new faucet connected and running and we were very pleased with the job he did. I've been using Roto-Rooter for years and would recommend them to anyone.

Excellent! Mike (tech #703) arrived earlier than expected, was friendly & professional, and resolved the problem. He took the time to explain to me what the problem was & what he needed to do to fix it. He told me the cost upfront & after I agreed, he got right to work. He cleaned up the area he was working in when he was done. Although I know Roto-Rooter may be more expensive than other places, I would definitely use them again & request Mike. I like that I was able to get same day service & the problem was resolved.

I had a great experience. I called at 2:00 pm and someone was at my house by 4:00pm. The man they sent was very polite and quite through. He checked all under my house. He fixed my problem!

They never showed up. Had to find someone who would come out when they said they would.

Upon finding my laundry room floor flooded, I realized that my washer was leaking, the air conditioning condensation was clogged, or I had a clogged drain pipe. I called Roto-Rooter based on the review and customer coupon listed on Angie's List. I am very pleased with the service I received. My technician was very thorough in his inspection. He was able to determine that my pipes, which are 40 years old, have tree roots growing through the joints and are causing sludge to build up around the roots. He cleaned out the pipes. He also found the source of the mystery smell and was able to determine that because the pipes are blocked, that the kitchen drain is not draining properly and causing a horrible sewer smell in the entire house. I am thankful for their speedy and professional work.

It was Friday night, my sewer line was backing up into the basement, and a house full of weekend guests just showed up. I was thankful Roto Rooter was able to show up around 9 p.m., but that sense of relief soon turned to horror when he quoted me $375 to unclog the line. Ordinarily I wouldn't have accepted such a pricey estimate, but I had no choice. Ugh. Several other plumbers were prepared to come out. I wish I had made another choice.

I had done some business with them before. The experience with them was pretty good. The technician was a nice guy. He came in, asked me some questions, assessed the situation, moved on and got it done. He got it fixed the same day. They used an electric snake to go all the way through the line and clean the pipes.

The bathroom sink was backing up and was very slow to drain so I scheduled an appointment online at the company's website. The appointment was confirmed and the office called 1/2 hour before arrival to let us know the technician was on the way. The technician arrived as promised and I explained the problem to him. He wrote up a quote which I agreed to and signed and then he got to work. It turned out that the pipe leading into the wall was corroded and had to be replaced so he showed me what was wrong and then went to get a replacement pipe. A little while later he returned with the replacement pipe and finished the repairs. The sink drains fine now and everything is back the way it should be. I've been using Roto-Rooter for my plumbing needs for years now and have never been disappointed. They always get the job done well and I would recommend them to anyone.

THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT. MR COX WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND KEPT ME IN THE LOOP WITH EVERYTHING THAT HE WAS DOING. THIS WAS THE BEST EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE HAD WITH ANY CONTRACTOR IN MY HOME.

They did the job, but the price was high. I think it took about week for us to connect. I had to pay an additional $125 for 15 minutes of work. It was one little bathroom, and one little part. We asked him to look at our sink. He stood there for 25 minutes and talked. He could have just looked at the leak in the sink. He did the job and fixed it. The bill came to $180. I would look for someone a little more economical.

Needless to say I elected not to have Roto-Rooter complete the repair. Instead I went with Tony and Sons Plumbing. Tony fixed the one stem that wasn't working NOT BOTH.

Complete rip off for what was done. The commode was stopped up, but they cleared that and just replaced the garbage disposal which was a relatively minor job. Would NEVER use them again since they completely ripped off on the price!

Roto Rooter employee showed up within minutes of my call. I had trouble with water collecting in my kitchen drain. Our house has three cleanouts. The main one could not be opened by the employee because he did not have the proper wrench. We had to find one clean out that was below grade. Fortunately I was able to find it and so I was not charged extra. Roto Rooter then used his power auger to remove the grease and paper clog in the line. He then sent a camera down the line and said it was clear. Unfortunately, that is not the end of the story. About 2 weeks later, the system stopped up again. This time the company sent two men immediately , with all the correct tools, fully cleared the system and I have had no problems since. The work is warranted so there was no additional charge. The plus side is that this company is very responsive and they take responsibility when things don't go as expected. I thought the cost was a little high but sometimes you get what paid for. Bottom line: I would use them again.

I'm kind of disappointed. I needed a faucet changed out and I guess when he looked at it, it was over 100 something dollars that he wanted me to give him. He did not really do anything. He wanted almost $200.00 so I just told him to forget it. I let him keep that little bit of money and I had my handyman put it in for me. We didn't even have to change it out as it was just a repair it was just clogged up so I took my faucet back to the store. I didn't get anything for the service.

I had a problem at a rent that is 4.5 hours from me so I was forced to call a plumber in the Newport News area. I found three that had decent reviews so I started making my calls. Well the first two failed right of the bat, poor service on the phone ended those conversations. Roto Rooter had an excellent receptionist, she couldn't give me a price but was pleasant and assured there was no charge to check it out. I soon received a call from the technician (Chance) and he explained what was going on and the problem with the main drain clean-out (not accessible). He gave me a few options and explained the cost. I gave him the OK for the repairs and I believe he went above and beyond. Chance actual found a better way to access the main drain keep my cost down to a minimum. Great guy, great service, excellent company!! Kudos Roto Rooter.

The service was fine. It just was more expensive than I anticipated it to be. I didn't think it was good value. Just one guy came out. He was very professional and very respectful. He covered his shoes when he came into the home. I didn't have a problem with the work. My biggest problem was the price. I believe I was just overcharged. I believe I was taken advantage of, price-wise.

Excellent! Lorenzo arrived on time and was professional. He snaked our shower drain and cleaned up afterwards. Appreciate the excellent service. Just wish it was a bit cheaper.

We had a large clog in our main sewer line that was stopping up bathtubs and toilets. Roto-Rooter was prompt in coming out. They were at the house with-in 6 hours of calling them. Tech was friendly and knowledgeable. He snaked the line in both directions to be sure the line was clear. Also had a 6 month warranty on the work, if main line clogged again they would come out for free to clear it.

They did a fantastic job. Came out on a Sunday afternoon and had the problem solved in a little over an hour. The technician was able to determine the problem within 5 minutes.

For the price roto rooter charge for 2 simple projects,I thought was pretty much ridiculous.
