Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Overall the Job was excellent and I would called them again in a heart beat, and that's a complement from a US Marine!

I called Roto Rooter based upon the reviews on Angie's list at 12:45 and was told that they could get someone out to my house between 1:00 and 3:00. The dispatcher called about 15-20 minutes later and said that she had someone on the way. Wayne (#108) arrived about 20 minutes later and completed the repair around 2:15. He was very professional, courteous and helpful. I really appreciate the promptness and professionalism as I am a very busy person. He also gave me some helpful advice. I will definitely use Roto Rooter in the future based upon this experience.

Their location was convenient and they guaranteed that they would quote a price before they did anything. The technician was very polite, good at what he did and was easy to get along with. They called the day before to make sure I remembered the appointment and gave me a heads up about 20 minutes prior to arriving. They came in, got their work done and got out. They were respectful and took off their shoes when they came in the house. They did quality work, were punctual for their appointment and I will use them again in the future.

I contacted Roto-Rooter to have a tech visit my house to check the water pressure. I was told that a tech would be in the area between 1700L - 1900L, so I went ahead and reserved the time slot. After giving the operator my home address (Hampton, VA) and my phone number I assumed everything was set. I received the first call @ 1900L stating that they tech was en-route. After waiting for 45 minutes with no tech I called Roto-Rooter a call back to see what was going on. The young lady told me she would contact the tech to find out his location. After a 5 minute wait Roto-Rooter called me back and said "the tech does not service your area". I asked why and the answer that was giving was "the tech is in Gulfport, MS so he doesn't service Virginia". I kept my cool and explained to the young lady that my confirmation e-mail from Roto-Rooter states my home address as Hampton, VA so how did my ticket get transferred to the Gulfport, MS region? She did not have an answer, so I told her to cancel the call and I will take my business elsewhere.

The work was great. They had a great tech, did great work, and had a reasonable price. I plan to use them again in the future.

This was the 2nd contractor who i contacted in reference to the job. The first one told me it would cost several thousand dollars and involve him replacing the entire sewage system in the house. I contacted Roto-Rooter for a second opinion. Robert our technition came out and propltly found exactly where the leaks were coming from and informed me that he could fix the leeks that day. Upon completion of the job he was able to do it for less than the orignal bid. Outstanding service and price.

They called and confirmed my appointment time and showed up a little before my scheduled appointment (that was great). The first thing the technician did when he entered my home was he showed me a drain maintenance product he wanted to sell me(I would at least wanted him to come and look my toilet before trying to sell one of their plumbing products). He came upstairs and looked at the toilet and told me that he would have to snake it to try to free the clog. He then stated that the cost would be ~$186.00 (WOW!! that's a lot to just snake a toilet). I was in a bind and needed to get this toilet fixed so I agreed to the price luckily I went to the Roto-Rooter web site and printed a coupon for $40.00 off any service ($10.00 more than the discount listed here on Angies List). The technician snaked my toilet and freed the clog but as he was removing the snake it got stuck on something. The technician then told me that there was something stuck in my toilet and proceeded to snake it again to see if he could free the stuck item. Unfortunately he was unable to free the stuck item. He then told me that the toilet would have to be removed in order to see if the obstruction could be found. He told me that it would cost some additional money to remove the toilet.(I thought that should be included in his service) I told him that I would remove the (2) nuts and the seal that were holding the toilet down and proceeded to do that. When we got the toilet up we instantly saw the obstruction and removed it.

I spent $270 on that work. He did the job quickly. The price was good. He was here fast, did the job quickly and he was gone. He was here on time. He cleaned all the mess up and took all the rubbish away.

Called to get a new garbage disposall since the handyman saide tha mine had a melted engine. Roto Rooter came out within an hour of my call. It took the technician 3 minutes to unjam the disposall with an alan wrench (a neat trick I did not previously know about). $134.00. REALLY?!?!?! YES. Never. Calling. Again.

There was a leak that appeared to be coming from the upstairs bathroom so I called Roto-Rooter to come out and take a look. It turned out the leak was coming from the pipe behind the wall where the shower/tub is located. They gave me a couple estimates, one to repair the pipe and one to replace it. I decided to replace the pipe and supply my own handles and faucet for the shower/tub. We set a date and time for the follow on appointment to do the replacement and when the time came the employee showed up on time and went right to work. The project turned out to be more difficult than expected, but the employee kept with it until it was done right and everything has worked fine since then, with no more leak.

The technician arrived on time and provided great service

When I called Roto-Rooter they answered right away, very friendly and knowledgeable and said someone would be there within the hour. In less than an hour two trucks pulled up, they told me what the problem was, what they would do and how much it would cost. The two fellas worked together in unison, they knew what they were doing. After my other two disappointments of plumbers that I had used from Angie's List the day before at another property......I was totally delighted with Roto-Rooter.

I would sometimes hear a leak after using the shower or tub. When it got loud enough to identify where the area where the leak could be coming from I called Roto-rooter. They came out the same day I called. No matter what we tried, we couldn't re-enact the sound that I heard previous, but because I identfied the the tub as the problem, he cut a hole in the ceiling under the tub and found the leak. The repair was simple enough in that it only required replacing the tub overflow gasket. He was fast and efficient, but I do think it was pricey, but I was able to find a coupon on the website to defray some of the expense. On the other hand, I can't put a price on my piece of mind that the leak has been identified and properly repaired.

I called with a problem concerning my pipes. I have a double sink, no dishwasher, and when I empty the sink the other side was filling up. Also, when the washer emptied water, I can hear the drain gurgling in the tub. I called Roto Rooter on Thursday and made arrangements for someone to come out to my home on Friday afternoon. The technician showed up just as I arrived at home. Shawn was the technician. He was very pleasant and personable. We discussed my situation and I told him I thought it might be an airflow problem. He thought clogged drain. Well, of course, he was right. He cleared my clog and everything is now running smoothly and sounding quiet again. He also told me about a product to purchase to keep my drains clear. Overall, a very pleasant experience and I would definitely call Shawn again.

I called early Saturday morning and was told the service would be performed between 1-3 pm. At 3pm, I called back and he informed the serviceman was delayed. He arrived at 9:30 pm. No one called after the 3pm call. Given the lack of lighting, he returned as promised at 11:30 am on Sunday. He checked for leaks in the crawl space and found the faucet leaking. It was replaced. The serviceman was great. I just wish called to tell me how late he was coming.

Excellent. I called the company and was impressed with how quickly they were able to attend to the problem. (appointment was made for the following day). I also received an e-mail to confirm appointment. The plumber check first to make sure that the garbage disposal could not be repaired; once it was determined that it could not be repaired he gave me a new quote for replacing the disposal. He was very professional and was done with everything (garbage disposal replacement and repair of leaky toliet) in less than a hour.

Went well. An hour or so earlier, called another company recommended by a family member who said they would get back to me. In the meantime I logged onto Angie's and found this compnay had some bad reviews. Called Roto-Rooter who gave me a time right then of when someone could come out. When the other company called back, I told them I had made other arrangements. The plumber arrived when promised, was polite and professional. It's difficult to rate quality on drain cleaning, because I would have to wait a couple of months to see if they clog up again, but the toilet is working just fine. Also difficult to rate price without having several different people come out who would probably charge for a visit, but price seemed reasonablbe.

They did an okay job. I would recommend them to others and would use them again in the future.

This was a great service. I called at 3 PM and was told it could be until 7 before someone could come, they arrived just before 5 PM. The technician was very professional and friendly. He stated all prices upfront and the work was completed within an hour. The prices were very reasonable. I would definitely use Roto-Rooter again.

Overall the service was exceptional. The technician arrived at the specified time and discussed everything he was going to do and laid out any options for me. He saw that I didn't have a drain catch on the back of my property, so he had to go out and buy it. He charged me for the part (which is fine), and for the trip to get the part (which was a little steep). He worked the auger up and down my pipe, trying to find a stoppage. He kept running into something, and didn't know why the water wasn't draining after running the snake all the way down the line. When he pulled it back, a three foot section of tracer wire from the gas company came up, and the water began to clear out of the pipe. He wasn't satisfied with the water not draining completely and suggested that I call city sewage to perform work from the easement to the street for any additional blockage. He was very professional throughout the whole job and made sure that everything was taken care of, including modifying my drain pipe to put in a catch.

The gentleman who helped us was ok - there were a few problems with the disposal installation. He asked my husband to go out and buy parts that were "missing from the box" after he admittedly failed to read the directions and refused to tell my husband which parts he needed or what they were called. He also installed the faucet wrong so it didn't turn properly to both sinks (easy fix), and the sink queals sometimes - not sure what thats about. I will give the company kudos for being able to come out the same day and do the job. The guy was nice enough I just wish he had been able to communicate with us a little better.

They were very prompt and the guy that came seemed like a master plumber--he certainly knew what he was doing. I was more than satisfied with his work!

Had to return next day to adjust shower handle to prevent dripping and trip lever to drain tub correctly.

BJ was an absolute professional and ensured that work area was cleaned before leaving. Will definitely use him from now on for all our plumbing needs.
