Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I wasn't here, but my husband was. The only complaint I have.. is that he and my husband, ripped out the back deck way, before realizing the main "hole" was in the front yard ... not the back..and left us with a big mess.. BUT on the other hand, he worked so hard and tried so hard and stayed so late.. didn't charge us extra"..SO all in all.. HE really did a good job. and yes we will use him again... VERY nice and professional

They were prompt and the price was fair.

This went well. They were fast and on time. The technician explained everything while doing the work.

They fixed the pipe for me and I have not had a single issue with it all year. They always stand by their work.

I've used them 2 times already and they're a very good company. You call them and they come out as soon as possible. The people that they sent out are very friendly and knowledgeable and they get the job done. They do a very good job.

The technician was very polite and professional. He gave me options before he started the work which I really appreciated. I would definitely recommend this company to my friends and use them in the future if I need any plumbing services.

Memorial Day morning and I have a shower that won't shut off. Tried several local companies and nobody could make it in less than an hour or they wanted to charge something like $300 an hour. So called Roto-Rooter and they said someone would be here in 2 hours or less. Received a heads up call 30 minutes later and in under an hour Brad was here. He worked his way from the leaking roof in the garage by checking the shower drain and any fittings in the roof by cutting away what had become soaked drywall and then into the closet behind the shower to look into what was actually causing the leak. As it turns out, the actual inner workings of the temperature/on-off knob of the shower had failed and water was spewing from inside and also out of the shower head. Brad changed out the guts and got it back up and operational in less than a half-hour after the problem was isolated. I rated them a B in quality for hindsight as if he would have just gone in and changed the guts of the faucet from the get go, I'd have fewer holes in my drywall to repair. That may be unfair looking back, but I like to think there is always room for perfection. I will certainly use them again for emergency services since they have the same rate no matter what day and what time of day.

They came and we paid to have the problem fixed, the problem wasn't fixed totally, they came back for free and did more work and again still something was going on, they came back again the third time for free and fixed it. I never had any problems again since then but they did mention that they are going to come back to send a camera down the line to see exactly what's going on and why it's coming back and they never did the charge for that but I did appreciate them coming back when he did and did not charge us for it. The problem should have been fixed the first time but I did appreciate that they did come back the second time to repair it.

I thought trying to find a smaller, local company would result in lower prices but after reviewing other's reviews I realized that Roto-Rooter would be my best bet. We used them a couple of years ago for installation of a new garbage disposal and faucet system, and found them to be punctual and professional. Our problem this time around was slow running drains, slow and intermittently clogged toilets, an overflowing dishwasher, and a front-loading washer that would stop mid-cycle with an error code indicating a drainage problem. The plumber arrived on time, after the company called and confirmed my same-day appointment by phone and by email. The plumber listened to the problem and determined that our toilet paper was the likely culprit for our intermittent toilet problems. He checked the kitchen sink, disposal and dishwasher and determined that the dishwasher likely needed a new door gasket. After pulling the front loading washer away from the wall he ran water through the drainage line and determined it was clear. The only problem he found that could be fixed was a slow draining bathtub in our guest bathroom, and he offered to snake it out. It was over $200 for this service, so I politely declined and he totally understood. The plumber was very nice, took the time to check everything and apologized that there wasn't more he could do. Total bill for this? $0. You can't beat that. I will continue to call Roto-Rooter in the future for our plumbing needs.

He came pretty quickly and on a Sunday. He seemed to be personable and know what he was doing.

The plumber was on time, in fact he was early. He went step by step on what he would do to find the problem to confirm or not what I thought was the problem. Which I thought was food disposal. After the assessment it was actually hair and flushable tissue build up in the line, which had lodged in side the kitchen pipe. He discussed the process it would take to do the job. He performed a snaking technique, but the build up was a bit more extensive he had to actually remove the pipe and empty that way as well. The whole process took approximately 45 minutes. He gave me tips on keeping the pipes clear and home maintenance tips. The price was even a fair quote before I gave him my Angie's List Coupon.

What a horrible experience. I called and kept getting the run around. It was nearly 10:00 PM and they were "on their way"... they were scheduled originally for 2 pm. THe call center people were RUDE as RUDE can be! Very condescending and unapologetic. I would use them if they gave me their service for free!

Water faucet was leaking outside, called around 415p, set up an appointment for 7p but they were able to come out earlier and fixed the problem in a hour and a half. I would definitely recommend and call them again.

It went very well. The plumber was here promptly. We had multiple problems and he knew the issues and had to repair them very quickly. I would use them again.

I hired another plumber who did the job for $200 (faucet fixture included).

This is the second time i have used this company and every time they have been really quick and the price is not that bad as well. All i had done by this company is a snake drain because my pipes clogged but the professionalism and knowledge was excellent. i do recommend these people for any plumbing need.

Set up an appointment from the Roto Rooter Website for between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Received a call at approximately 2:00 pm asking if the plumber could come earlier but was unable to accept. Approximately 4:30 pm called and was told that the plumber should be available in a half hour or so. After waiting for nearly 45 minutes I noticed that I had a voicemail on my phone. I did not miss a call but Roto Rooter had left me a voicemail asking that I call them back and let them know if I was ready for the plumber to come out. I called back within 3 minutes and was told that I would have to wait another half hour or so before the plumber could come out. I waited another 45 minutes and found another voicemail stating the same thing, no missed call just direct to voicemail. I called back within a minute and was told I had to wait another 30 minutes. Finally 45 minutes later the plumber came out and was wonderful. I have no complaints about the service and professionalism from the plumber.

It went well overall. A plumber arrived at my home and cleaned the drain. Then he left.

Was relieved that I was able to find someone to come out that night.....had already used 30 towels to sop up the water on the floor.

The plumber came within hours of my call on a Monday to unstop a commode, using a snake. The plumber was neat, polite, and got the job done. The price charged was the price quoted. In addition, he gave advice on what types of toilet tissue are less prone to causing clogs.

Went well. With the exception of setting up an appt for a waiting period from 4-6pm (on a Fri). It was 530pm so I called to verify that someone was coming out. I was told that they were just about to call me and that the technician was running behind.and they need to extend my waiting by 2 hrs....I didn't even know that would be an option. Now the new arrival time was going to be 8-930pm! No thanks, they offered me to be the first appt the next morning (Sat), I took it. The gentleman that showed up was on time, professional, polite and knowledgable. I explained the problem, showed hike the sink, explained that I had already had someone out to try to fix it.... Long story short he fixed it!!! One of the several trees on my property or cities broke through my 'terra cotta' main sewer line and now the roots are growing in it, he pulled some out with a huge snake machine and then told me I need to start saving for a main sewer repair/replacement. But for now my problem is fixed!! I wish I remembered his name, very nice and I would request him if there is a next time.

Great job!! Shawn was friendly, professional, and explained everything before, during, and after the job. Shawn worked very hard to unclog my main drain line from the house to the street, which he said was slugged up very badly. It took him a couple of hours to clean the drain properly but he hung in there until the job was done, and gave us a 6 month warranty.

On Friday night, I was in bed and started smelling something weird (in a bad way). I got up to investigate and at that same time, my partner came in from the family room and said she smelled gas. I started opening windows and told her to start getting our pets and then silently prayed as I had to turn off our alarm. I went outside to call 911 and then went back in to get pets. As I was getting our last cat I noticed the kitchen sink was bubbling vigorously with thick black goo. This made me think sewer gas as opposed to natural gas which, as a former firefighter/paramedic, left me slightly relieved. The fire department arrived and I told them about the smell and the sink. Their meter showed high levels of sewer gas. They ventilated our house with fans and advised us to contact a plumber and the City. We contacted Roto-Rooter at about midnight when I was on the way with my cats to a local rescue that could house them for the night. I was very clear with the dispatcher that I wouldn't be back at the house for at least 45 minutes. She assured me she would call before he was on the way. I was told the plumber would arrive no earlier than 3:30am-ish. At about 1am, the plumber called and was at my house. He initially was really irritated on the phone that no one was home. It took me about 15 minutes to arrive and he had already been in the crawl space and was just waiting to get in the house. Once I met him, he was actually very nice. He carefully removed the quickly dissolving metal pipes. Once he disconnected them from the sink and there was no more contact with water, they stopped emitting that gas and the smell in the house dropped dramatically. He did a good job replacing the pipes. He was very quick. He was nice to talk to. He cleaned up after himself. I was very appreciative of him not only coming out in the middle of the night but waiting for me to get home.

Barry [service tech] arrived on time, and had to do a little more than he [or we], expected before he was able to find the problem. Once he did, he sat down and gave us his best opinion on a solution and cost, and when we agreed to his idea he went straight back to work without stopping until finished. In my opinion he did an excellent job and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and the company, and to use them again. Unfortunately this review is delayed because I'm new to Angie's List, and forgot to look for where I could post it. That isn't a reflection of the quality of his work.

Their service was fine. They were very polite and quite timely. They did good.
