Eric Carney, the owner, is a general contractor with extensive experience in home building, home renovation and selective renovation of ktichens and bathrooms. He is a carpenter and cabinet maker by training and is not only an excellent GC but a skilled craftsman in his own right. While I acted as the GC for our ktichen remodelling, picking my own subs, Eric helped us layout the new kitchen and pick the cabninetry. He spent about 15 hours with my wife and I, going over options to make sure we designed a kitchen layout that was both pleasing and fucntional. We purchased out cabinets through Eric, at a very reasonable price, and he did the installation. The quality of worksmanship is excellent and we are very well pleased with the results. Just as important, however, is the fact that Eric worked well my subs, helped me in coordinating the trades and provided sound advice in areas where my experience was lacking. He was not only a contractor, but a true collaborator. You can certainly get better pricing by buying your cabinets at one of the big boxes (but frankly not much better) instead of buying them through Eric, but the big boxes simply cannot provide the level of sustomer support and service we got from Eric. I give him my strongest recommendation and intend to use Ghent Company for other jobs.
