The work was done professionally including full cleanup from the work site. They were on time and took care of everything.

As previously stated, I originally hired Gary 16-17 years ago. I still remember our first meeting and how promptly our consultation appointment was scheduled and how professional and knowledgeable Gary was. He had very helpful suggestions and advice and I have been completely pleased with all of the work he has done for me over all these years. I do not hesitate to call Gary when I need more work done and I have and continue to highly recommend Gardens by Oz to anyone looking for good, quality work at reasonable prices. He stands behind all of his work and will not stop until the job is done and done right.

They arrived on time and did the work agreed upon. They had to take down a portion of my fence to gain entry to my backyard and ensured that when the fence was put back up, it was secure. The workers were respectful and efficient. The work was completed in about 4 hours. I will definitely use this company again and will refer them to anyone I know who is looking for reliable and affordable lawn care/landscaping. Mr. Osmundson listened to what I was asking for and gave me alternatives for the work that ended up costing less than I anticipated having to spend. Thank you!

Gardens by Oz did exactly what I was looking for with my yard. Rather than quote me for removing all my old plants (that were in good condition just overgrown and poorly spaced) he recommended removing them and replanting them in a more uniform fashion and adding in new plants to add color and depth to the garden. It looks fantastic and I am incredibly happy with the professionalism, quick response time to all my phone calls and his flexibility.

He called and then came out to assess. He was willing to do the work, but he told me that I didn’t need the work done and that I should trim back the dead parts of plant to the save the entire bush. He saved me at least $1500. He’s trustworthy and I wouldn’t call anyone else.

Gary is the ultimate professional. He met with us on several occasions and provided the design that matched our wishes. It is hard to find a service organization that performs. Would recommend his company for all areas of landscape from cleanup to design and installation.

Gary's team came in and started to work. Everyone on the team was hardworking and polite. In just one day they did their magic! We couldn't be more pleased! The front and back yards are actually bigger now that the overgrowth has been cut back! I only wish I had taken "before" and "after" pictures. We would certainly recommend Gardens by Oz to any of our neighbors.

He was prompt. He was a straight shooter. He was very knowledgeable and experienced enough. I had it quoted by somebody else and I feel like I got a very fair price. The quality and expertise was there. I have some expensive trees and some ornamentals and I didn't really know how to cut them. I was afraid to cut them and he cut them. He did a great job. It's nice to know you're going with somebody experienced. I've already talked to him about scheduling back out there.

We recently bought our house and just didn't know how to get started with our over-grown landscape in our backyard. The projects we had in mind were beyond our skill level and involved more time than we were able to invest. We called several landscaping companies, including Garden's by Oz, to provide us landscaping ideas and quotes to complete their ideas. All companies provided unique landscaping designs with quotes. However, Gary provided us with the most interesting and desirable design with the most competitive quote. We just felt very comfortable with Gary. Once we agreed to work with Gary, he stared immediately on our backyard. His team removed several trees and limbed up others, installed flower beds, installed an awesome paver patio next to our pool, installed a fantastic water feature (my wife's favorite part of the yard) and installed a wide variety of great looking plants. Overall we are extremely happy with the quality of work from Gary. He has an incredible design eye and more importantly is able to execute his designs! If you looking for incredible landscaping work, give Gary a chance and he won't disappoint.

Is it possible to give A+ ratings?? If so, Gary and his team would have received them across the board! I recently purchased a home in Norfolk, the lawn of which had not been properly maintained for quite a few months. Gary and his team tackled the lawn and got it all back under control with mowing, edging, leaf pick-up, and general sprucing but also identified the dangerous plants (poison ivy/oak) and treated those as well. I had just closed on the house and was concerned about the lawn being outside the allowable level of maintenance for the city, so Gary ensured his team got there ASAP to clean it all up. And all this was done at a price far below my expectation. This in itself would be enough to justify a straight-A rating, but it gets better. I had been in correspondence with Gary for a couple of months prior to moving to Norfolk. He had kindly taken a look at the yard of another house I was considering for purchase and made an estimate on work to be done over there. Additionally, since the home I did finally purchase backs up to protected wetlands, Gary has wisely advised me to seek the council of an environmental regulator first to ascertain what can and cannot be done there in accordance with wetland protection guidelines, thereby possibly saving me thousands in penalty fees later on down the line. I greatly appreciate Gary and his team, and highly recommend them for your yard maintenance needs!

Gardens by OZ is very professional. Gary Osmundson designed the landscape, recommended the appropriate plants including the pruning of existing foliage as well as identifying proper water drainage. The results of Gardens by OZ are outstanding. We are very pleased with the work that was done. We also noted that the employees were dedicated, experienced and very efficient. We highly recommend Gardens by OZ.

The experience worked out well. They came out within the first few weeks after I purchased it. I paid an additional amount because they did extra work. They did a lot of work, and I really love it.I did some research and I had thought about doing it last summer, and if I did it myself, it would have been just that much, so I was confident that they weren't overpriced. He kept in touch with us frequently, and even told us when he was out of town.

Gary Oz was extremely professional and punctual. Right after arriving I could tell he was going to do a good job as he knew his stuff! He quickly evaluated our backyard and drew up a sketch. He was also very responsive to any input that I had. He was excellent at coordinating around my schedule and another contractor's job that was being done as well. He was so responsive and knowledgeable that I plan to use him in the future for another job.

He and his crew arrived on time and went straight to work removing the overgrowth of pond plants that I was unable to pull out. Cleaned upper filters which had a mud like substance on them and advised me to put a filter on my well-water pump that feeds into the pond to keep that from happening. Only one thing. He said he would come back in a couple of weeks to reclean the filters once the water had settled down. He did not come back or call so I cleaned them myself. Overall I was very pleased with the service and the price.

A+. I was so impressed by the company's professionalism and follow through. When I initially inquired about servicing our property, Gary, the owner, called me within minutes. He was very conscientious about completely understanding what I wanted to have done to ensure that his company would service it as I wanted. Within a day, he assessed the property and provided expert advice on our weathered plants and provided solutions for a better approach to our flowerbeds based on the weather patterns in our area. I am very pleased with he and his company's customer service and look forward to his lawn and landscaping services throughout this season!! Thank you, Gardens by Oz. We bought a big deal from Gardens by Oz for a 150 feet paver stone patio for $1399. It was to replace a rotten wood patio that we took out ourselves. Gary, the owner, immediately contacted us via email after we bought the deal. When we called him, he came over the same day to look over our yard. Gary is friendly and professional. He took measurements, showed us the pavers, and explained how the pavers were going to be installed so there would be proper drainage. We told him we were interested in adding more square footage and he quoted us a fair price, which we agreed to. Due to snow and rain, installation was delayed. When work started, he came over with his workers, dug up the snow and placed a tarp over the sand base. The end result looks great. We can’t wait to use it during the warmer weather. We highly recommend Gardens by Oz. We will be using him again soon for lawn aeration. Thanks Gary!

We saw his ad on Angie's list and asked him to come over to discuss the job. Gary and all his folks at Gardens by Oz were absolutely friendly, professional, intelligent and dedicated. There was NEVER an attempt to hard-sell or push us in any specific direction. We were given a number of options and ideas with separate pricing provided for each option. I really appreciated this "menu style" presentation - prevented confusion and you knew how you were spending your money. The owner was on site to ensure his folks were OK on the planned work. As they dug up the old sod they placed that old sod in other areas of our yard that were "grass challenged" - a very nice touch and indicative of their style of work. Gary told us at the beginning the job would take about a day and a half; it took EXACTLY a day and a half!

Gary came out and looked at my property. The fact that he didn't turn and run says a lot about his professionalism, as it was wildly overgrown. Gary took time to listen to me, look at pictures of things I liked or wanted in the landscape. He brought his proposal and we sat down together and talked about it. Gary was patient and answered my questions thoroughly. We took another walk around the property and talked about specific of what I like/want and Gary provided feedback on some of my desires. For instance, being from the north I really love lilacs and wanted them in the landscape. Gary explained about how lilacs perform in this climate, but it was clear that if I stilled wanted them he would use them. I felt heard. So I can trust he will guide me, and together we would produce exactly what I am looking for not only in plants and color, but in longer term things like maintenance requirements (drought resistance, ease of maintenance). In addition, a habitat where birds, bees, butterflies, bunnies and squirrels could find food, water and shelter. Gary and his crew came as scheduled and when I returned home from work the curb appeal was already 2000% improved. Yes that is two thousand percent - just ask the neighbors. I like that Gary is willing to work with me and in phases. He is very flexible and pays attention to details, which is important to me. I look forward to progressing with "our" plan.

Received confirmation of purchase From Angie's list on Jan. 14, 2014.Received call from Gary of Gardens By Oz to visit home on Jan. 17th. At that time he indicated the pictured advertisement was not a picture of his work. I was disappointed, however, I did listen to what he could do and we scheduled the work to be done on Jan. 31, 2014. Did not hear from anyone until I received an email from Angie's list for an evaluation. Prior to that time, I felt as if I was the only one concerned about the completion of this project. I'd emailed and/or called Gary. (You should have a copy of the emails on file.) He would indicated he would call next day and wouldn't. It snowed during the scheduled work time period so I knew Gary more than likely would not be working. He failed to call and reschedule until I initiated the process. Very poor communication with customer.

These guys are GREAT! Gary and his staff have been taking care of my flower beds since last year. They always do a great job. Gary knows exactly what needs to be done and what he is doing. I really consider him an expert in horticulture. Since he has been managing my landscaping, it has taken on a much more beautiful and professional appearance! I like it that he does not require me to sign a contract for service and that he also always answers the phone when I call him!! Who does that anymore? I think it is wonderful! He has great ideas and always reviews everything with me for approval, calls to let me know when he will be coming by and even calls when he is on the way. Gardens by Oz is an awesome company. I love the service they provide for me! Makes my life a lot easier!

It was terrific. It was a great price. The installation was perfect. They actually came back and made a couple of adjustments at my request. I added a couple of more lights. It was great to work with him. He was excellent. He was knowledgeable and responsive. He insured job satisfaction. The responsiveness was excellent. He was a really nice guy.

Gary stayed on site and worked with his crew during the entire process. He is "hands on" and manages his time wisely. He met his and our goals within the agreed time frame. We could not be more pleased!

We wanted 5 outside lights to shine against the front of our house. They did a great job ; were very nice and efficient. Would highly recommend
