Gave me some advice that I definitely took to heart and will be going to the store in a few minutes to get suggested items and then perform additional “resuscitation” procedures to return them to life. The contractor provided an estimate that was not at all like he explained. We were told that we would be able to choose the plants we wanted from a price list provided by him to make up a budget that we were comfortable with. Instead we received an estimate with plants that we did not like. He created the design and pricing. Nor did he even follow up after he sent the estimate so we've chosen to do the work ourselves.

First, Gary the owner is very knowledgeable and kind. He listened to my ideas and alerted me to components that were not well suited for the area. He gave me a detailed estimate so that i could adjust to work within my budget. He met promised schedule and delivered a beautiful landscaping project. I wish that i had met Gary before i wasted money on earlier projects. Since the first job, he as been my "go to" company for any investment in curb appeal! Also, he does a great job with weekly lawn maint. I turned my lawn over to Gardens by Oz and the neighbors noticed. Added bonus, when I put the house up for sale, I received great comments about the landscaping and condition of my lawn. Contributed to a quick sale, doesn't get any better than that. As usual, Oz was tremendously helpful, knowledgable, professional, friendly, and overall a joy to work with. The winter snow was **** ** a number of our ornamental trees and bushes, and we decided to take the opportunity to make some other changes while dealing with the damage, and asked Gary to vet our ideas and help us come up with a better plan - he did, and we plan to execute it with him shortly. Gary's knowledge of the area's plants, and his willingness to educate us about everything in our yard and his great attitude, is a big part of why we keep coming back to him every year.

Called and was told that they would work me into their schedule for the week. Two weeks went past, And he never showed up nor return my calls. I did a follow up call requesting an estimate- and still no return call. This company has no honor or integrity. I will no longer work with this business.

Gary and his workers arrived just as they said they would and performed all described services. They are a group of hard-working individuals and got the job done quickly and efficiently. They cleaned up the yard, trimmed and pruned trees and plants, cleaned out the beds. Then all beds were mulched. Afterwards, they cleaned up and all debris was set out curbside for pick-up. I have worked with this company several times in the past and they always do quality work. I plan to use them again in the spring to replace some old landscaping.

Amazing job. The owner came out yesterday to give estimates and to work out a regular lawn mowing schedule plus a nice list of areas needing attention with prices listed. Mr. Osmondsen was very professional, pleasant and listened to my concerns and answered all questions. He and his crew came out this morning even a little before the appointed time, and the crew was quickly at work after discussing details with the owner, who worked alongside them today. They even were able to rescue the garden hose (and re-attached it to the outdoor faucet) from the overgrowth. Ivy, which had become overgrown, was cut back perfectly all around the house. The lawn on all sides was beautifully cut, and attention was paid to all details. I am very pleased with Garden's by Oz and am so glad I found such a team to care for my lawn. Superior service, punctual, and owner very devoted to individual lawn care needs. Easy to contact, returns calls and highly professional. I'm very impressed with this company and feel very grateful to be able to count on them.

Excellent service. Front flower beds cleaned up; all shrubs fertilized; 2 mature Encore Azalea bushes, 1 mature Knockout Rose bush, 26 pansies, and 20 Ajuga provided and installed, along with 2 yards of shredded oak mulch. Gary and his crew of four men worked hard and were punctual, professional, and personable. They cleaned up after themselves and hauled everything away. Gary is also very knowledgeable and is able to explain anything you need to know about plants and gardening in layman's terms. This is the second time I've used his services, I highly recommend him, and I will definitely call on him in the future.

Excellent! Completed quickly. Exactly what we asked for in color of 2 kinds of stone, and design. Easy to work with - made requested changes during the process. Most reasonable estimate of the five I contacted. Will ask back for next phase.

Met July 14th. Great plan. Estimate was to be dropped off the next day. Have not heard a word, even though have called and left a message.

My husband and I purchased a home with extensive gardens that over the last 12 months we have been unable to maintain. We contacted Gary to simplify our garden design and increase privacy while still maintaining the look of our garden. We contacted and scheduled an appointment quickly without any delay or fuss. During our initial visit Gary spent over an hour walking our property listening to our needs and wants while also educating us about the health and needs of our plants. We developed a three stage plan that both fits our budget and meets our needs to maintain the vast collection of plants and trees now under our care. After meeting several other landscapers I am confident that Gary is by far the best! His knowledge is extensive and his experience was evident. We will definitely be working with him not only in the short term to curtail and redesign our cottage gardens and pond, but also in the future to maintain our gardens health. Gary did not drop a huge invoice and leave. He did not cut and run after a 12 minute walk around. He did not try to sell us a ton of sod. He did not tell us to rip out all of our plants. He did not tell us to cut down all of our trees. He did explain what needs to occur at this part of the growing season as well as later in the season and the fall. He did listen to our wants and needs and separate them into a manageable plan that's within our budget. Overall I am very happy with the services provided by Gary at this stage of our project. I will be recommending Gardens by Oz if anyone asks.

Gary's crew cleaned out our front flower beds, salvaging and replanting what plants he could and incorporating those plants into his new design. New soil, mulch, labor, and 34 plants were provided, including Yule Tide Camellias, Gold Thread Cypresses, Burgundy Glow Ajuga, Hosta Lilies, Dwarf Loropetalum, and more. Crew cleaned up nicely and hauled everything away. His prices were competitive (I obtained several estimates), and his estimate and final bill were the same. Lots of color and low maintenance; just as requested. Punctual, personable, responsible, and professional. I will definitely use his services again.

I have now been using him for almost a year and I have been very pleased. They not only care for my yard on a weekly basis, but when I have asked about having other maintenance services done, they were diligent about those as well. I highly recommend them.

Good work, but punctuality was not dependable.

This project completed much needed editing of the legacy landscape. The key part of the project was to move ten aucuba japonica and hydrangea that the former owner had planted in inappropriate locations. This involved making new beds in the understory, moving the existing plants from their original locations to new locations, and pruning as needed by the move. In addition, the crew cleaned all of the beds, pruned a number of things I'd let get too big, and installed a gravel bed around the shed to provide some clearance to make mowing easier. This project began in early February but continued into March to work around frozen ground, a rare mud season, and snow cover. The owner handled all communications and was helpful in the planning phase and kept me abreast of what could be done when as we worked around the weather and other projects. A month on, the plants we moved are recovering and establishing new growth.

We decided to hold off on landscaping last year because of our plans to have a larger covered front porch built. Fast forward to 3/15 we did have the porch work done. By coisedence Gary sent us a text message around 4/15 asking if we were ready to proceed with the landscaping work. We liked Gary and his plan/price. So we thought we would give him the job. Worth about $5000.00. I called him in reference to his text message. Told him we were ready to proceed with the work. He explained they were getting very busy. Said he had two appointments the next day close to us and would call early and try to meet with us. We told him we understood and appreciate him trying to fit us in. Never heard another word from him. I understand this is the busy time of the year for landscaping. But to pass up a $5000 job and not get back in touch. Also they contacted us looking for work. From reading reviews and meeting Gary (very nice and knowledgeable) i'm sure they do good work. Not sure what happened here. We gave the job to another company. Update 4/21/15 I don't want to get into a debate here but lets at least stick to the facts. Quite a few exaggerations with the company response. Bottom line the owner should have given us a courtesy phone call when he realized he could not meet with us a few weeks ago. As far as allowing them more time and consideration. A simple call to us and we would have gladly accommodated them. This company chooses its work area, 20 hours of design and site visits? We never requested any additional visits in 2014. So they spent 2 and 1/2 work days on this small project? How about one visit and a few hours at the most. As far as any fees. Please produce a signed contract to support that claim.

I have been working with this man for a year. He gave me immediate access to his phone. He was very responsive. I cannot say enough about how great he is. The owner Gary was on the same page with me. No surprises and would go over all the paper work with me and additional charges. His crew was very nice and let me take pictures of all the steps in the project.
