The A/C did not blow cold during the beginning of the second cooling season for the Goodman heat pump installed when the house was built, purchased in OCT09. Thinking it would be covered under the manufacturer's warranty, I investigated Goodman's site, which said it would have to have been registered at the time of installation. I called the builder, who said our unit was installed by Jimmy Johnson and he would have any such information. Jimmy and an employee came out in the next day or so and checked things out inside and outside. He thought it was the evaporator inside the air duct and was pretty sure it was part of a Goodman service warning/recall, because they had a batch of evaporators made in China which had been failing everywhere. He said he would recharge the unit until he could get his hands on a replacement unit, but thought the Goodman warehouse had some on hand. He also said he would leave the extension ladder (necessary to reach our elevated unit) in the back yard, because he was going to be right back in a day or so. However, the next morning, real early, (I am an early riser and was a witness) his employee snuck back to our backyard, retrieved the extension ladder, put it on his truck and left quietly. We never heard from Jimmy Johnson again. That is how Chesapeake Bay HVAC stands behind the quality of their work. We later employed Hobbs HVAC to replace the evaporator and were extremely happy with the work they performed.
Description of Work: He investigated lack of AC in heat pump he installed in new construction. It was less than two years old at the time.

They did a really good job installing everything but they damaged piping under my house and they didn't tell me about it. I lost a whole lot of money not knowing that I was pouring water into the underside of my house. Their work quality was great but their honesty was poor. They did a lot of work and the quality was good. They were responsive.
Description of Work: I used Chesapeake Bay Heating & Cooling to install central heating and air.

They were very prompt and professional. They cleaned up the place really well. There were a few problems, but they fixed those problems. They had good prices. The unit that they used is actually big enough that if I add it on to the house, then it will be able to compensate without any problems. They estimated that they would be able to get the work done in 3 days and they actually got it done in 2 days itself. I would definitely use their services in the future too.
Description of Work: Chesapeake Bay Heating & Cooling installed my central heating air conditioning system about three weeks ago.

He was excellent. I called and explained the problem. He was at my house in less than 15 min. It took him about 30 min to figure out what the other contractor had down and do some quick fixes to the insulation. He didn't have the part on hand but he called and had the part standing by ready to be picked up and was back at the house in less than 30 min. It took him another 45 min to finish the job and he was $200.00 cheaper than the other company's quote. Very professional, polite and pleasant. He explained everything and told me my heater would be fine no need to replace it.
Description of Work: Replace the blower motor in my heater after another contractor did not show up to finish the job.

I heard about Mr. Johnson through my father, and he had done the same job for us, at our old house, so I knew he was good at it. After we moved in to our new house, the old furnace was leaking gas, so we needed this done fast. Johnson came over the day after we called him, and he finished in one day, allowing us to sleep at our new home without any danger. He is an extremely hard working person, and we have not had any problems with the new furnace.
Description of Work: James Johnson replaced our furnace after we initially moved in.
