I have, over the years, shopped at Blaney's and about four years ago had them reupholster some dining room chairs. I like their fabric selection, and the work they did was of good quality and done on time. However, I have been trying to call them for a couple of weeks to ask a few questions since I have a chair to recover and was thinking of using them to do the work. The phone rings and rings and no one ever answers. I am wondering if they are still in business. At any rate, I will be using someone else to do this current job. (Someone who picked up the phone when I called).
Description of Work: The work was done to satisfaction and was done on time.

What absolutely blows my mind is you think taking over $1,400 and delivering a sofa that has a bottom cushion was so flawed and pillow cases for the back pillows were so poorly constructed is good business. It has been over 7months and still not right!!. The gentleman I spoke to on Monday, at your shop, did agreed that back felt lower than the front of the sofa when he sat on it and that he certainly understood why I was so upset.Not once in the 7 months when I called did anyone from your shop call back. So I would call again. The only answer I got was "I will look into it and get back to you" the final months were "I need to call Mike" No one ever mentioned the material was on back order. Mike did confess after he picked up my sofa and I started calling him because of the incredible delay that there was nothing he could do because he had not gotten the material from you!! So I was without the sofa for another few months.Please tell me what part of my behavior is unrealistic?? You said "none of that is my fault" Mike said the same thing!! Who's fault is it?? I would have deeply appreciated knowing that the material was on back order and would have made the decision to purchase a new sofa if I thought it would take much more than the 4 to 6weeks I was assured it would take when I wrote my 1st check.I also requested that the sofa be raise 2 inch and your shop told me to tell mike when he picked it up. I was more than willing to pay any additional fee. He said it would be much easier for me to do it. As you know it is not easy task. That was the least of my concerns when I arrive home and saw the poor excuse for a $14,000 reupholstery job done on my couch.I want an apology and compensation for the service provided to me by your shop.

Description of Work: Ordered 2 different fabrics for 2 chairs and an ottoman on 2/14/12. I put down a deposit for $780.00-to cover the fabric and 25% of the labor costs. I knew it would take a while as it was being shipped from an outside source. I called numerous times to find out when fabric would be in they kept telling me "anytime". The end of May(3 and 1/2 months later) , when I called yet again, they had received one of the fabrics, and were expecting the other order very soon. On June 1, they finally came to pick up my furniture, telling me it would be just a few weeks. 7 weeks later, again only after I had called numerous times, my furniture was ready for delivery. I called the store, asking for some sort of price reduction, as I felt this was a ridiculous amount of time for me to have to wait, and have my money tied up. The manager told me he would have to discuss it with the owner. The following day, the furniture was delivered. The delivery man/ upholsterer told me the balance that was due---no discount. As he was the upholsterer I told him it was an unacceptable delay and that I wanted some sort of reduction in the balance. He took $50.00 off ....

I hated this company because it took them six months for them to come out and finally install the curtains and valances that I bought from them. It took a long time to even get my chair, that I had them redo. I had to pay upfront. The work was poor. I had to threaten them with a lawsuit to get anything done at all. I didn t mind the price, but I would not use this company again.
Description of Work: They put up six valances and curtains that we bought from them. I also had a chair upholstered.

I had to ask for my money back for the job she did for me. The designer was professional, but it looked like the drapery was just pulled out of the toilet and hung on the wall. I would not recommend this company to anyone at all. I didn t like them at all and the quality was horrible.
Description of Work: She hung new draperies on two windows for me that I had purchased from them.

I was not at all happy with the way I was treated by the people from Blaney's. First it took much longer to manufacture than they said, then they would not give me the leftover fabric. I had planned to use it for the couch arm rests and considering the price I paid for all the fabric, it should have been given to me. They became condescending and rude when I brought this up. At least the draperies are installed, but aside from that, it was a bad experience for me.
Description of Work: Blaney's Fabrics Incorporated manufactured custom draperies for my front picture window and installed them.
