This was the third time we used Lakewood. We had Tim come out to look at our gutters, as they were leaking and having rain spill over them in different spots around the house. Upon inspection Tim found a few problems, and the cause of the leaks. He recommended seamless gutters with the leaf guards on top, and to also correct the corner spots on our roofing which didn't have the proper weather and ice guards laid underneath the shingles. I also asked him to look at our sunroom exterior door, to see he could put a storm door on. He has his proposal to us promptly and worked very patiently with us as throughout this time we had a baby. He worked around our schedule and had great communication with us. The roofing work was done one day, gutters were done within a few days of that. Tim came out and installed the door himself once it warmed up a little bit, at my request. Since this job Tim has come out and performed another estimate for some exterior work on the house. Tim has always been professional, confident, competent and knowledgeable, honest, and trustworthy in all the work he has done for us. They may not be the cheapest when you go around getting estimates from companies, but I believe their cost is reflected in their services and evident in the quality of work completed. We will always call them when we need work done on the house.

I found Tim, and Lakewood Home Builders, through Angie's List advertising a coupon for insulation projects. Tim was prompt in his response online and was out to provide an estimate that same week! Upon meeting Tim, I was immediately struck with a sense of trust and honesty from him, which I think is pretty hard to come by these days in this area. This is our first house, and it is old, so we did not really know what to expect as far as costs or the condition the home was really in when you looked behind the surfaces. Tim is by-the-book. He plays by the rules and follows code, he was immediately able to tell me what needed to be done in order to have the most efficient and safe attic space. Estimate was provided the next day, followed by a contract, and the work was done within a few days. Loved him, we knew we would use him again.

This was our second job with Tim and Lakewood. Tim was prompt in his response to my inquiry and was out to the house to perform an estimate within days. He was able to pinpoint the problem with the leak behind shower wall and was able to thoroughly explain the best option for correcting and rebuilding it, being cost conscience. He also pointed out some major out of code, dated, things in both bathrooms, so we ended up getting two new ventilation fans which he ran up the house and out of the attic. We also needed our finished basement's carpet and padding replaced. He took measurments that day and informed me who we would use to get the carpet. Tim had the proposal to me within a week and once the contract was signed he had me scheduled a few weeks out. The bathrooms took just under a week. Tim was very interactive and communicative with his team and would come by to check on progress each day. I had a small issue with the spacing of some of the tile, Tim came out that day and took action to correct it. He also came back after the job had been completed when I noticed that the caulking around the bottom of one of the showers had mistakenly been done with the wrong color. He fixed this himself. We were relieved to have our bathrooms fixed and we were so happy with the work they did!

I have used LHB many times over the years for large, complex jobs, and am a very loyal customer. The main reason I always come back to them is trust. I trust them to get the job right and to stand behind their work; I trust the subcontractors that they use to be in my house; I trust that the price they quote will be reflected in the quality of the materials and workmanship provided. They have have earned this trust in every job they've done for me. Discussions with the owners are friendly, professional, and pleasant, and they are always attentive to my concerns and work diligently to be certain that I am satisfied with the work. The subcontractors that they have used have all been the same, and it is clear that LHB chooses carefully who they will work with. It is rare to be able to say that you enjoy dealing with contractors and subcontractors, but I can honestly say that it's been a pleasure each time I've worked with these folks. I give them the absolute highest recommendation, and will continue to work with them.

Tim and his crew do great work. The basement looks better than before after we were impacted by the recent flooding. The basement area included a second kitchen, and drywall replacement, painting, carpet, cabinets, etc.

Lakewood Home Builders, and especially Tim Johnson, did an AMAZING job completing our kitchen promptly, professionally and efficiently. They are very friendly and quote the perfectionists. They actually fixed several other small things in the house while they were there. Lakewood is the most professional builders we have used in our area, and we have used several others in the past. Now, we only use Lakewood, as do ALL our neighbors.

We had a major house fire which ended up being a gut-rebuild and I went general contractor shopping. I saw reviews, interviewed five GCs and ultimately went with Lakewood. I'm so glad I did and I am a big advocate not just of their end product but the process. When you work with a GC, you're in a relationship with them. We had a great experience with Lakewood. Here are some examples why: 1. Tim, one of the partners, was an adjuster in his past and was able to help navigate the insurance world with ease without me having to be in the middle. His knowledge in giving an initial estimate, in negotiating and sharing facts with our insurance company made me feel that I was in good hands. He was an advocate. I would trust them to give me sound advice. 2. I wanted to use Google Sheets to track items I purchased vs. them. They embraced the change and indulged me in my method. This showed a lot of flexibility. 3. Lance manages the heck out of the projects he's on. He's a no BS guy--straight talker and doesn't sugar coat stuff. If it can be done, they'll tell you. If it can't, they aren't wishy washy and tell you as it is. He's at the job at 6am marking and planning for the work that needs to be done that day. He organizes a varied team of contractors that do the various trades (plumbing, electric, etc). 4. They give you the time. Projects get done before they say they will get done. They take on what they're able to manage and they are good guys. For them to be profitable, they need to use several sub contractors for trades efficiently. They make sure to plan who they need effectively. 5. A GC's work product is only as good as the work that they get done through contractors. The contractors that Lakewood uses are kind, they speak English (which was useful for me), do good quality work, and they work hard. I saw them working through weekends, late into the night, and generally seemed happy to be working for Lance. 6. The pace at which they work is great but it was a challenge for me to keep up with. Since our house was a full re-build, I was often the bottleneck in making design or product decisions. You pay for what you get. Lakewood will be competitive in pricing but they will be the higher of the options that you may have in front of you. But keep in mind that the price you pay is not just for a quality end product, but also for your trust (they take great care of your home/ area), for good advice and guidance (peace of mind), and for the experience (it's painless). Tim and the crew from Lakewood did an excellent job from their first visit and roof inspection through to the end of the job. They were excellent communicators - keeping me informed throughout the project, did great work, and were neat and tidy. The timing of the roof work I needed ended up coinciding with some bad weather (snow) and then a cold snap. Lakewood communicated regularly with me as we figured out the best start date and then executed the project quickly and professionally. I am happy that I went with them and I would do work with them and again and would definitely recommend them.

Tim at Lakewood did a phenomenal job listening, assessing and completing out roofing, gutter and trim wrapping project on time and at the price he quoted at the start (which was very competitive.) I called 7 vendors for bids - TIm was the first to return my call and able to schedule the work before several even returned my initial call. Lakewood's team showed up every day/all day until the work was completed. TIm actively managed the project and frequently helped his team with much of the heavy lifting. The workers were courteous and left the jobsite clean and orderly at the end of each day. I've already recommended Lakewood to several friends and will definitely use them for future projects. They did a great job getting the right supplies and getting the job done. It took a bit of time to coordinate, they were super busy with all the rain we were having! Tim was our rep and did a great job of taking care of everything, including doing a follow up walk (and roll with a magnet) at the site to make sure everything looked good.

We hired Lakewood Home Builders to remodel our kitchen in August of 2018. They did an AMAZING job. they were always on time, they had ideas that I didn't even think of! Tim was a pleasure to work with everyday. I actually enjoyed having them in my home during the remodel. He is very personable! This company is honest AND they're perfectionists. If something isn't done PERFECTLY right, you best believe Tim will be right there making sure it is perfect. They also replaced our floors and backdoor. My house looks like a DREAM now. Absolutely amazing work. Our kitchen was the original one from when the house was originally built in the '80s, and it's as if a kitchen from a more modern home was copy/pasted directly into our house; it truly is a night and day difference. The entire kitchen was gutted down to the studs and floorboards, and with the way things were moved and shifted to accommodate the teeny-tiny galley kitchen to open it up as much as possible is nothing short of astonishing.

Tim was an absolute Godsend to us! He responded within 15 minutes of our initial call and arranged for emergency service to put a tarp on our roof which was leaking into the bedroom and down into the basement. The weather was terrible and the rain was nonstop for days! Tim was the utmost professional, very knowledgeable and took the time to explain every step and the repair process. His employees were just as professional and attentive. The roof repair was completed on the day promised and the internal repairs were also repaired as scheduled. The workers cleaned up the property and house very well; there was no additional work left for us to clean up. The quality of Tim's work is 10+/10, we are extremely satisfied and grateful to have found him, especially since the roof repair was a result of the poor workmanship of another contractor. Tim also worked with our insurance company when the actual cost exceeded the initial insurance adjuster estimate, and as a result, our insurance company increased the estimate and paid the difference. Tim was highly recommended to us, and we are absolutely satisfied with his work and overall customer service. We wholeheartedly endorse Lakewood Home Builders, Inc as a superior contractor who can handle simple to extremely complex jobs, and truly believe you will be just as satisfied!

The work went as expected, meaning they estimated the job based on what the insurance company agreed to pay for the work. They contacted the insurance company to ask for a few modifications to the settlement amount based on what they felt needed to be done in order to restore the basement to its previous state. The workmanship was excellent, the price was fair, and the job was completed a day ahead of schedule.

We love our new basement. Lakewood Home Builders crews were very professional and very efficient. Crew members were friendly, polite and picked up at the end of their workdays. We had a large basement with limited time to complete. The teams worked long hours, including weekends, and managed to meet our dateline. Communication was easy. Project manager came by most days and briefed us on what's going on. We made many changes (from original contract) in term of materials used; but all were done smoothly without any delay. Will definitely hire Lakewood Home Builders again for future projects.

Lakewood Home Builders, and especially Tim Johnson, did an OUTSTANDING JOB completing our project promptly, professionally and efficiently. Tim arrived at our initial appointment on time, went up on our roof to assess its condition, explained precisely what needed to be done, answered our questions, recommended the GAF product line, and within a day emailed us a comprehensive cost estimate and proposal. A week later the installation crew did exactly what our contract called for ... on time, no quibbling about details, no attempted add-ons after the job began. Tim's meticulous attention to detail inspired his whole crew ... in my half century of hiring contractors this was the best organized, most cheerful, best trained and effective team with whom I've ever had experience. Installing a new roof can be a messy job; but I do believe that Tim's team left our property even cleaner that when they started work! Tim Johnson is a great guy to work with. Honestly, I felt everyone in this company are cool including Tim, his partner john and the crew. They are punctual and understand your needs. Per my emergency request, Tim came by and patched the area so water will not come in to my house until they install the roof. Its really hard to find this kind of awesome company these days. Roof was installed in a day, they came at 7am and finished by 7pm and done excellent job.

Overall it went very well. They showed up when they said they would and finished the job promptly. Clean up was very professional. My only real criticism is that they are not very good on giving complete paperwork on the job. I have the quote but never got a signed contract specifying exactly what would be done and the warranties.

The work was completed in a timely fashion The workers were professional,knowledgeable and efficient. All the contractors working in our home were polite and well mannered. The work done was excellent and improved our home with minimal disruption. They left the work areas very clean, removing all the trash. We would definitely highly recommended Lakewood Home Builders to our family and friends

Just superb! So quick. Excellent communication and immediate response to my questions. The HOA and inspections took 3 times longer than the deck build from start to finish. The work crew were also courteous and clean.

We ran into a snag at the beginning with the county permit. Lakewood worked at length with an engineering firm and the county to find a viable solution. The extra work they did to find the solution which satisfied both the county requirements and our budget is an excellent example of their willingness to put in whatever time and effort is necessary to satisfy their customers. The rest of the project went well. Lance was our project lead for the Lakewood team, and he came out to the house almost every day to let us know what was going on and to meet with the subcontractors to make sure they were on the right track. Along the way we decided to make several changes to our design. Lance always supported our desires and provided good communication with everything that was going on. As with any job, the dust is a constant. Lakewood worked to minimize it as much as possible. Lance ensured that the subcontractors cleaned up every day. He even brought in a cleaning team to provide thorough, deep cleaning twice during the three months the interior of our house was under construction. The other members of Lakewood supported us as well. Tim managed the windows and siding while John worked with us on the cabinetry and the financial efforts for the additional work we asked for. We truly enjoyed working with each of them. They consistently responded promptly to all our emails and texts. They each proved to be professional, courteous, and very interested in doing an excellent job. We are excited with the results in every room of our home, from the kitchen, to the master bath, the laundry room, and our new walk in closets. Our “new” home is a pleasure for us to be in. We highly recommend Lakewood Home Builders, Inc. without reservation!
