Description of Work: This was a major renovation of the backyard with extensive carpentry and stone work. The project was performed per design and at estimated cost over a four month period. | |During the project, Deck Builders recommended valuable changes and we negotiated price adjustments to accommodate the improvements we approved. | |We are very pleased with top quality work and materials throughout. Hidden details give high assurance there will be no surprises. We chose a double beam foundation for the deck and their mason laid a very deep and highly compacted foundation for the paver patio. They also gave a great deal of thought to the design of drainage and water management. | |Scope of project: | - Deck: 350 sf (Trex PVC) with 42" high wrought iron rail and two flower boxes. | - Patio pavers: 420 sf patio/walkway (Techo block), 15' long paver bench, and 60' long paver wall enclosure around a 10x20 vegetable garden. | - Shed: 10'x12' on concrete slab with double, steel-cased doors and south facing windows. | - Electrical: 3 new elec circuits (1 in shed and 2 inside house) and lo-voltage deck and patio lighting. | - Fence: 100 linear ft 48" tall fence with 2 gates (1 double & 1 single). | - Drainage: 3 french drains to protect paver foundation, stones & drainage along house foundation. | |Deck Builders pulled all permits, coordinated inspections, and performed compliance changes as needed. | |This project was performed between July and December, 2011. Now, after 5 winters and 4 summers we see no issues with quality or durability of the work. | |It may have been possible to complete at a lower price, but having seen the disasters experienced by work done at the lowest price possible in our neighborhood, we are satisfied that we got a realistic and fair price for good quality work. | |NOTE: In completing this review, the drop-down selection did not permit a year prior to 2013. This project was completed in 2011.

Description of Work: I had them repair my deck which had major tree damage and I had them perform a major repair to a shed.

Description of Work: Replaced deck and stair planks with Treks Accents. Used Deckmasters system to secure boards to joist. Added support beams for unsupported section of deck consisting of two posts and support beams. Replaced step planks and middle support for steps.

Description of Work: Demolition and removal of existing wood deck. Build 24 x 15 foot composite deck with vinyl-covered wood railings. Deck is about 3 feet off the ground. 4 or 5 foot wide exit with steps down to backyard consisting of 4 steps of composite material.

Description of Work: They built a deck approx 300 sq. feet with pressure treated wood. It was one level - about 3-4 ft. off the ground with a set of steps going to ground level.

Description of Work: They built our 14 by 22 square foot deck on the back of our home.

Description of Work: We live in a three-story townhouse. Deck builders took down the outside second floor deck/balcony and completely replaced it. They also pulled up the downstairs deck (which was done 7 years ago by another contractor-shoddy work) and re-topped it. Both decks are done in trex, not regular wood.

Description of Work: We already had a deck on the house, but it was small and had three levels, each separated by about 8" in height. We wanted to make it all just two levels, and add on a section of about 120 sq ft. Also had one set of stairs on the new section and an old set on current section redone. Started by getting quotes from Custom Built LLC ($4460) and Nova Exteriors ($7781) in addition to Deck Builders Inc. Custom Built LLC sales representative was late to appt, made several mistakes on estimate form, was slow to follow-up, etc. Nova sales rep was very responsive, professional, knowledgeable, had a good package and was very up front about their costs typically being higher than some others. Even offered to answer questions I might have even if I used another builder. Deck Builder rep was very responsive, willing to work with us on what we wanted, took $ off the job based on Angie's List coupon for another builder, etc.

Description of Work: We replaced our old (22 years) deck with new composite (Evergrain) materials and added low voltage lighting both to the deck and screened porch.
