 + -1 moreExcellent. Steve provided a fair quote, reviewed the roofing texture and color options, and the work was done timely and his crew was professional. The crew also spent significant time cleaning up the debris that comes with a roof replacement. I have used Steve's services for a number of years and each time everything went well. I think one reason Steve can be more cost effective is that he does not have the fancy glossy brochures and dedicated salespeople. He takes time to meet you, discuss what you need, and give you a fair quote. That's fine by me.

 + 0 moreI originally found Steve via Angie's List and he has done several jobs for me; all on time and at a reasonable cost. However, when my roof began leaking after this winter's heavy snows, Steve really outdid himself. He came out, looked at the roof and then met with my insurance company to determine the optimal solution which ultimately meant replacing every board and all the shingles. To work around my schedule, he brought in two crews to finish the job faster in a single day. Even the Insurance Adjuster who was there told me he was impressed with Steve. Steve felt so strongly about the benefit of architectural shingles, that when I made the decision against them because of the extra cost (that the insurance would not pay for) Steve said he would pay the difference if that?s what it took. And he did. How?s that for putting the customer first? I will definitely use Steve for other jobs. He is excellent, and honest. What else could you ask for?

 + 4 moreI can't say enough great things about Steve. I am currently deployed and dealing with Steve from a distance has been as convenient as possible. He has kept me informed and has worked closely with the person watching my house during this time. I have seen numerous pictures and heard such positive things about his work. I am BLOWN away by the pictures of the new door he installed. The trim is unbelievable, it looks amazing! The entire house looks fantastic. Steve truly went above and beyond. He noticed that our shutters were the wrong size and he took it upon himself to order us all new shutters, at no cost. The siding on the house had gotten extremely dirty since leaving it months ago and Steve got a buddy of his to power wash it for us, at no cost. I'm not sure if it is because Steve is prior military, or just a really great person, but he did all of this to make sure our house was looking good for our return. I heard that Steve made sure everything was done right before moving on, was extremely knowledgeable about his craft, and has excellent advice and ideas. Everyone who worked at the house was really nice and our house sitter said he would hire them all himself. Steve also referred us to someone to install flooring and even brought him over to the house to get us a quote. We also hired him (Morland?) and are very thankful for that referral as he did an excellent job! Steve was quick to respond all around. He was easy to get ahold of, he came out to the house quickly, and he got started quickly. It is evident that he truly takes pride in his work and company. Thank you so much Steve!
Description of Work: The main issue was that the siding on my newly purchased foreclosure wasn't done properly. The top was completely missing the "flashing" I believe it what it is called and wasn't even sealed. Steve removed the gutters, removed the rotted wood, replaced the wood, wrapped it in aluminum and completely sealed off the top of the house at the trim. My house is over 1600sqft, he redid the entire trim. He also replaced all of the gutters on the house. We had all of the windows and doors wrapped with aluminum as well. He installed the soffit around the house, which was also missing. He replaced multiple pieces of siding that were damaged from a flying trampoline, to include the corner piece. He also installed a new patio door. We previously had an ancient sliding glass door and we converted to a french door. He replaced all of the shutters and had the house power washed.

 + -1 moreIt was a very satisfying experience. The contractor called us back the evening of the same day we called, and was able to come out to look at the job that evening. Our firewood stack and other items were in the way of the work, and we told the contractor before he did the estimate that we would move the firewood and other items away from the work area. We called two other contractors and got an estimate from one of them. When we told Stephen Harvey Enterprises that we wanted to accept his estimate, we also told him we would start on moving the stuff out of the way the next day. He told us he would order the materials and start work in a few days. To our surprise, he showed up the very next day and dropped off a young man to move the firewood and other stuff. The young man was courteous and worked hard. He stacked the wood where I asked him to. The siding crew began a few days later. They were also very courteous, did very nice work and cleaned up well afterwards. The business owner was not on the site most of the time, but stopped by several times to observe the progress. Then he came back when it was done to inspect the finished work and ask if we were happy with it. We are very happy with it and would use this contractor again and have already recommended him to two other people.
Description of Work: Removed a small lean-to from back of the garage and rebuilt the garage back wall, then installed vinyl siding on and aluminum trim all around.

He also made some excellent suggestions that we had not considered. After giving Steve the go-ahead, the work soon began and progressed smoothly. The final result exceeded our expectations. Our house looks new again, and we are extremely pleased with the quality work Steve provided, and with the competitive price. We would not hesitate to hire Steve for additional work in the future!

His company provides a high quality product, fast installation, and expert workmanship. They followed-up with all of my concerns and questions during the install and they were very careful when pulling down the existing rain gutters and spouts. I was very impressed with Mr. Harvey's experience in assessing what we needed. Overall, he never pressured us with an up-sell or upgrade. He gave us exactly what we needed and delivered a real value.

 + 9 moreSteve Harvey and his crew were utterly awesome. The house is over 50 years old and had had little work done to it since I was involved in purchasing the property in 2007. Although I have done design work in the past, I authorized Steve to select many of the paints and replacement items. I am rather particular, but I love everything that Steve selected!! The renovations started on Aug. 19 and except for again cleaning the brick exterior and waiting for the trim on the fireplace set, we completed on Nov. 1. Unfortunately, Steve and I both thought we could paint the original pine kitchen cabinets a light cream color, but we were Not pleased with the results. Hence, we lost almost three weeks waiting for the customized oak kitchen cabinets. However, they were definitely worth the wait! They are gorgeous! I have renovated other houses in the past and I can assure you, I have never worked with anyone who does the type of quality work that Steve and his personally selected crew did at a reasonable price. He was very responsive and stayed in touch by phone almost daily. Above all, Steve is totally trustworthy. He is also a retired Army Warrant Officer. Description of Work: Steve Harvey did some work for me on a prior rental house after I was very displeased with the work of the first company that I hired. Hence, he was the only person I wanted to do the major renovations on another rental house which I plan to sell. On my recent project, Steve worked as the project manager, but he also did some of the work. The electrical and plumbing had to be "re-worked", gutters were replaced, the two bathrooms and the kitchen were gutted and everything replaced to include tile in the bathrooms and vinyl in the kitchen/laundry room, all bath sinks/mirrors, bathroom cabinets, kitchen cabinets, the dishwasher and the microwave are new. Only the refrigerator and stove are used. A wonderful new shower was built for one of the bathrooms, etc. Baseboard heating was removed in all but the family room because the heating changed. The entire house was repainted and new carpeting installed in the living room and family room. Wood floors in bedrooms were refinished. New fans with lights were added to all rooms except the family room, railings were constructed for back porch, and new black aluminum railings added to main entry. The back porch area has new railings and was painted. Some landscaping was done and the brick exterior was cleaned. Several new doors were installed. The tarnished gold trim for the fireplace is being replaced this week. A number of new exterior lights and the lights in the living dining room were also replaced. The family room had poor quality, dark paneling. Hence, we had to put up sheet rock and then paint the room. Several new light fixtures were purchased. These were the major renovations but there were other smaller ones. It looks so very much brighter! The house sets on 1.7 acres at 102 Old Seaford, Seaford, Va. so the yard had to be maintained during the renovations, and Steve also took care of this.

 + 2 moreIn addition to above power wash of fence using the Angies list coupon, for an additional amount he took care of some carpenter bee nests which were eating into our house and repaired and painted the wood where the bee population had destroyed the integrity of the wood. He lost money on the fence as it was much larger than he thought but stated that since his wife had put the ad in Angies List he would honor the price and do the fence for the advertised price of $233.00 Total $383.00 Hard worker, very nice person. I am having my patio doors replaced in the Fall and will certainly get a price quote from him.

 + 0 moreThey arrived on time, got to work right away. They did not use harsh chemicals, just water and pressure washer, so it didn't harm any of my plants. They did a lot more than we ever expected. We purchased a four hour pressure washing job, but they put in a 8.5 hour day at our home cleaning our home, porch, sidewalk around our back and front yard, deck and large and long driveway! House and everything looks great. We would hire them again for sure and recommend them to others!

My husband was concerned that there was water getting in behind the siding. Steve took a look at it, inspected inside and out. He assured me there was no water damage, or leaking, and explained how my husband could secure it to avoid any future problems. Will definitely use again!
