Merry Maids work has always been better than i what i could do. They get on their knees to clean hallway and kitchen floors, and will do extras, like empty waste baskets in rooms that aren't assigned. They bring my trash cans back up to the house. Although there were a couple mishaps - item broken, a skipped room - the response was fast and professional. Don, the owner, doesn't cut corners in customer service when things need to be corrected.

We are satisfied with the overall outcome . Don worked with me on all the details (price, cleaning dates, what to clean and what not to clean,etc) I think they are a little over priced on their first cleaning but they made up for it on service ,quality and professionalism.

Since the first cleaning it has been nothing but a hassle with this company. Every week there are major items skipped or done very poorly. They want to charge extra for cleaning floors. All contact with the office staff is full of excuses and offers to make sure the crew knows the next time to take care of the problems but next time they still miss things. A week ago they tried to leave when they had skipped part of my kitchen and had skipped and entire room! If I had not been home these things would have gone unnoticed until the afternoon and since my cleaning day is on Friday and they close at 4:30 I would have been out of luck. They offer a large discount on your initial cleaning if you sign up for a and quot;loyalty programand quot; which includes 24 cleanings. When they failed to follow through with the promised service I spoke with Don Krantz (spelling might be wrong) who suggested and quot;maybe this just isn't going to work outand quot;, which I took to mean and quot;we won't or can't provide the services we agreed toand quot; and I agreed. Then he turned around and said I would have to pay the fee for the and quot;loyalty programand quot; and cleaning of floors! First cleaning: This was supposed to be a whole house cleaning but they skipped a bedroom (it's $10 extra to have the room cleaned weekly) and did not mop floors, didn't vacuum sliding door tracks, sliding door glass was not cleaned, ceiling fans not done and the top of the kitchen cupboards were not wiped down and a few more items. How in the world do they call it a whole house cleaning?? When I called the office I was given many excuses as to why items were not done and told they would be done the following week. Week 2: Floors still not cleaned, I left a written note of the things to do and not to do and they still skipped items and did things I didn't want done. Dog hair still on stairs, not vacuumed well. Week 3: Floors done in kitchen but the upstairs hard wood floors were still dirty. Again items skipped. I thought the amount on the receipt was an error since they were charging $40 more than agreed to. Nope! Later they tell me that is the extra charge for mopping floors (they say they don't use a mop and that it is hand scrubbed) again stairs not vacuumed well. Week 4: Floors not mopped, kitchen was not properly cleaned and they skipped our rec room which is one entire level of our house, so 1/3 of the job. When I called it was the same story of excuses as to why things weren't cleaned and I was told the items would be corrected on the next visit. Always making excuses about how they have different crews coming out and they just aren't used to the house yet. Week 5: Hardwood floors finally cleaned, kitchen floor still had crumbs, refrigerator had dust on the base and streaks. Stairs still had dog hair on them. Door tracks not vacuumed. I took a cloth and wiped the kitchen floor and it was filthy! I called the office and was told they would send the crew back out. The Merry Maids rep and quot;Donand quot; called me back and after much arguing and frustration he said it sounded to him like this just wasn't going to work out. I agreed that if they couldn't clean properly then this wasn't the service I should have. He then told me I would have to pay the and quot;loyalty agreementand quot; amount since I wasn't continuing service. I disagreed with him and he said he would turn it over to the courts. I reminded him that Merry Maids had not fulfilled their end of the agreement either by not cleaning properly. We agreed to disagree and ended our telephone conversation. After about 15 minutes of thinking I called back and told the woman and quot;Loriand quot; that I would continue the service and would just make sure every week I made sure to call and have them back out immediately to fix any problems instead of waiting for the following weeks cleaning. She was extremely rude and informed me that the call was being recorded and I could speak to and quot;Donand quot; about it but that he had left on a sales call. I called back shortly before 5pm and left a message saying that I would continue the service and would like to make arrangements. I did not hear back from any one at Merry Maids until Tuesday. I met with and quot;Donand quot; on Wednesday to attempt to resolve the matter. It was my suggestion that we continue the service and if and when there was a problem I would have them back out the same day to resolve the matter. He informed me that would not happen because I had cancelled the service and he had removed us from the schedule. He then tried to charge me for cleaning the floors (which the previous Friday he had agreed to waive the fee) and the and quot;loyalty programand quot; fee. In my opinion he had not come to resolve anything and only came so I could pay for the past 3 weeks of cleaning and his program fee. He kept telling me it would be up to the courts and a mediator which would cost me. I agreed to pay for the 2 weeks of regular cleaning and 1 week with the floors but didn't feel I should have to pay for work not done (upstairs floors $40). Don tried to tell me today that they don't clean (mop) the floors when there is an area rug and that it was costing extra because he didn't quote the time for it but there was no area rugs when he came to do the initial estimate. The rugs were not delivered until after the first and quot;cleaningand quot;. Thank goodness I took pictures of the items in question each week. So the moral of this story is RUN!! Don't walk! Do not make the mistake I made by hiring this company. They have not followed through with their agreement and the amount of time I have spent completing tasks or redoing them and calling, writing notes etc. is not worth the headache.

They are very good. They are just very reliable, and they do good work. I am not home when they come, so I don't really interact with them. My house looks great. They are very efficient.

We have used Merry Maids of Newport News for the past 2 years to clean our home. The work they do is good but they don't move furniture to clean that well. The price is average with the other cleaning companies here. They show up on time and are professional.

They did a good job. They do monthly service. I'm not sure about the price because my wife pays them. They are not cheap for the amount of time they spend but they do a good job. I've not had any interaction with them when they clean. My wife said they do a really good job and she is happy with them.

They are very punctual and do a good job.

Its like a miracle because it usually takes me all day but they do it in an hour and a half. They are very dependable. I have been very pleased. I know in advance when they are coming, and they come at a time that is convient for me. I would recommend them to others. I have had other house cleaners to compare them to and they are far superior. They cater to the customer.

OK. The appointment was short-notice and the service was good at finding an availability. They gave me the three hour cost over the phone. The two person team arrived on time with their equipment. They cleaned the place-- the bathrooms were very good. It felt like they worked more to the time alloted than the job. The fridge and freezer may have been wiped down, but not particularly well. There was no furniture in the house but a baker's cart in the kitchen on wheels; they did not clean under it and that was disappointing. If they could see it, they cleaned it, but no effort to get in between or behind anything-- fridge, chest freezer, bakers cart. Overall, it was OK. Short notice I might use this company again.

The initial cleaning was about $250.00 and $100.00 once a month. My daughter uses them weekly and we use them only once a month. We have tried others before Merry Maids, but they are the best for us.

They were courteous and fine. They came back with the quote, and that was it. It was more than what I could afford at that time. They sounded professional and good. I may consider contacting them again in the future but that is left to my wife though.

It has been very good, my dogs even like them. The same girl comes each week, she is the captain and she has an assistant come with her. The assistant may change but the captain will always be the same. I like that very much. The very first contact was with the owner Don, he came and gave the estimate. He was a very nice many and I was anxious for them to start after talking to him. About 10 days later the initial clean came and two girls came and they did a good cleaning of the area I asked for. I have bedrooms no one sleeps in so they do not clean them. If I want them cleaned at some time they will for a little extra. About a week later the regular girl (captain) started and an assistant with her. Today they have been here twice and each time they do a good job. I feel good about them as I know the Captain will be here each week whether I am or not. She will always have another girl with her. My previous cleaning company could not do that for me, girls kept changing.

They do what they say they are going to do. They do not charge extra if you ask them to do something that is not on the list. I have no complaints at all.

I needed to have more free time during the week and weekends to do major jobs and still maintain our home. I especially wanted to rid our house of clutter and get more organized. I decided to look for a company that was reliable and would provide a fair price for their services. I found Merry Maids on Angie's List called and immediately, I had a home visit set up and the lady provided me with a complete estimate of the rooms I wanted cleaned, which were the rooms we mainly live in. It is a joy to have more time to devote to projects I want to do instead of having to clean bathrooms and change sheets, etc. At Thanksgiving and Christmas I was spoiled. I enjoyed being able to entertain instead of clean.

I was very pleased with the results. The women were courteous and they worked fast but covered every detail described by Heather during the walk-through. I started with the $131.00 a month option. The option I finally settled on is only $120.00 monthly. I've been using Merry Maids service for three (3) months now and I'm very satisfied. I would recommend they to anyone who's interested in having their home cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis.

My wife and I have just purchased a nice, sixty year old home, and, although the former owners left the house in good condition, we wanted it cleaned from top to bottom. Merry Maids did a superb job. All dust, dirt, grit and grime had disappeared from floors, countertops, shelves and bathroom. The house is large, but Merry Maids was very thorough. Everything gleamed. My wife and I were very pleased!

Merry Maids, while expensive, perform excellent work. The employees are well trained and perform it better than many other services.

Two women showed up and they were the best. I gave them a priority list and they got right to work. They used a cinnamon scented oven cleaner. Everything they did looked so good. They were hard workers. They were sincere, honest and I really liked them.
