Jack's Tile & Carpet

The sales process went well as the representative was very helpful in the selection process, ensuring we understood exactly what we were buying. When it came to installation two of the three posed real challenges and they did an outstanding job dealing with the issues that faced them, including major repair to a subfloor. The two installation team members were very professional and personable - a good crew. The work was more extensive than they had originally understood from the site survey, but the company stood by the quoted price.

From start to finish, I was totally pleased with Jack's service. Starting with the estimate appointment, to our shop visit, to delivery of materials, and work start and finish, everything was done as promised, as scheduled, and at cost estimated. The workers did everything I asked and did really great work. The Sales Manager and Jack visited our home several times while the work was in progress and afterwards to ensure our satisfaction. I would recommend Jack's to anyone.

It was the first time they came out to do work for us. They did a good job with good pricing. I had no complaints. They actually came out on Christmas eve to rip up the floor, to get prepared. So they were really, really very good at their schedules. They really kept to it and accommodated us really well.

Jack and his team were just wonderful. From helping me select just the right flooring and the quick installation, I really could not have asked for more. I will definitely use this excellent company again.

Pricing is reasonable but probably not as cheap as the big box stores. They are prompt and showed up as scheduled both for the measuring and the installations. Easy to work with and very customer focused. Will definitely use them again.

I needed to put new downstairs carpet in a house that I am selling. I called Jack's and had an appointment the next day for a consult. (Thu) He ordered the carpet that day and installed it the following Thursday. His rates were comparable to other places I called. I was please with the service. The carpet looks great and they did not leave any mess.

The salesman that came out was very friendly and helpful, he showed us several samples and patiently answered our questions. A couple of days latter we wanted to switch to a different carpet, he was again helpful and quoted us a price. One week before the install we made the selection. The installers were on time, they quick moved the furniture and while one laid the carpet tack strips, another removed the molding. They numbered each piece of molding so that I knew where they went. They quicking installed the carpet, the job was very professional. the carpet looks great. They moved the furniture back , cleaned up and left within 2 1/2 hours. Oyer all i would use them again and highly recommend them to my friends.

I received estimates in early October for the work and was advised that work would not start until November due to backlog and having to order the tile. I stated that my schedule would support starting the work the 2nd week of November. I was contacted with a first available start date of 30 November, questioned the delay and was told that the tile had to be fabricated. Based on my work schedule, I could not start 30 November, and was scheduled for a 7 December start. I was assured at that time the installation would take no more than a week since I was leaving town starting 19 December. Mid-week of my install (9 December), it was determined that not enough tile was ordered to complete my half bath, and I was asked if the install could be completed Friday, 18 December, the day before I was scheduled to leave town. After more discussion, the 1/2-bath was scheduled for completion on Tuesday, 15 December, and I received 50% off the labor cost for the bathroom for the inconvenience. Meanwhile, the carpenter arrived to install my 1/4-round (trim) in all rooms where the tile was completed and did a very poor job in the kitchen. The ends were not properly cut, there were nail heads sticking up in every piece, there was a nail that was bent in half and sticking up that he was aware of but only fixed after I asked about it, and he smeared caulk on the floor, several inches up the baseboards, and in huge globs in the corners. My husband and I sanded and repaired those areas and had to remove, cut new pieces and re-install them. I also received a discount on this work. I wish I could post the pictures I took of some of the issues. The tile work was good overall, with exception of the pieces that were not level in the 1/2-bath. I appreciate the responsiveness to my concerns, the fact that they compensated me for the delay and poor craftsmanship, but would have preferred to pay full price for a job done right the first time and on schedule. They received many great reviews, but I would not hire them again. Maybe this just happened to be an "off" job.

Robert was easy to work with even when I rushed him a bit. We wanted the work done on a particular week when I was off work. This was quicker than they usually schedule jobs, but he was able to get the tile portion done that week. I was surprised that they could do the cement board and the tile the same day, but the tile guy explained that they were using fast set materials. They did schedule the replacement of the shoe molding for the next day. Their carpenter took his time, but custom-mixed the stain to match the existing wood and the results look really great! He used oak when some people use "foam." The carpet is great the they worked with us on colors. It makes a big difference in the house.

The owners provided excellent service and the installers arrived in a timely manner (Early) and were able to complete the job in half the estimated time. ?The job was inspected by a third party installer who was also impressed with the craftsmanship and quality of the installation.

Jack's Tile and Carpet were very professional, prompt and the quality of their work was excellent. It took them longer than estimated but they let me know along the way about the items that caused delays.

I wanted to use Jack's but I had a tight schedule as we needed to have the repair done within the next two weeks. The other provider was better able to meet that schedule. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for quality flooring and responsible installers and will use them in the future for other jobs.

Excellent service from start to finish. The Sales Manager provided excellent advice during the carpet selection phase of our project and answered all our questions and request for additional information in a timely manner. He was on time for the estimate and the measuring process took only 1/3 the time of other companies. Their estimate was substantially better than a competitor on an apples to apple comparison. Jack's has a discount for Angieslist members and even advised us of a promotion that the carpet manufacturer was running if we waited two weeks to get into the promotion window. The installation was scheduled for a time that met our schedule. The installation crew showed up at the appointed time (actually about 15 minutes early), introduced themselves and got to work without any delay. They moved the large pieces of furniture for our entire second floor with care and even took extra care in moving several antiques with marble tops. There was no damage to our furniture or our walls. The installers were professional, pleasant, quiet and very respectful to us and our home. They worked the entire day only taking a short lunch break and completed the job on the second day as scheduled and in a very professional manner. The work area was cleaned completely and all debris was removed offsite. Our Sales Manager followed up with us the day after the install completed to make sure we were satisfied. We have no complaints at all and highly recommend Jack's Tile and Carpet.

Kevan came out the next day and worked with us on a very complex estimate that included vinyl and parquet (which were the original materials) and tile and bamboo (which we wanted on the new floor). Ultimately we went with a different company that offered slightly different products for a slightly better price, but we would highly recommend Jack's.

Price was extremely high. Got another company to do it for 1/3 the price. Said it would take 2 guys 5 days to lay less than 500 sq ft. I measured around 460. Really?

to,Rusty and Dave arrived right at 8:00 am with a full truck. We had painted the living room and dining room recently, so both rooms were totally empty except for the basic furniture. They moved all the furniture into the great room except the dining room table, which wouldn?t fit through the door, even with the extra leaf removed. They didn?t want to take it apart if they didn?t have to, so they left it in a corner. Dave started on the carpet, Rusty on the kitchen. Dave pulled up all the existing carpet and tack strip/staples in both living room and dining room. As mentioned above, both rooms had been recently painted, including trim work. That showed after all the carpet was pulled up; a line of carpet tuff all along the bottom of the trim had to be scraped off. And Dave did so without damaging the new paint. Rusty and Dave worked very well together. They both knew their job, they didn?t talk a lot, and they helped the other as needed. Rusty pulled up the carpet in the kitchen, put down a ¼ inch flooring of wood, filled all the cracks and seams in the wood with something that required a huge fan to dry, and then glued down the vinyl flooring. The kitchen is an odd shape, with odd trim corners and angles, but Rusty did a good job making the quarter round trim work with what we have, even staining the cut edges. The three stairs to the laundry room were a bit tricky, as Dave had to work around a water-heater, but they look great, and in the upstairs bedroom, you can?t tell where Rusty patched the carpet. I am VERY happy with Jack?s carpet and would recommend them to anyone without reservation.

The company was extremely efficient and flexible. We were on a two week deadline when we contacted them. We had a little bit of difficulty in the first few days arranging a time- our fault- but they were very patient and made recurrent attempts to get in touch with us to ensure we could get the requested work done on time. We cleared out the room ourselves which saved us some money. When they arrived to do the work they did it with incredible efficiency. They took only a hostr time, but the work was done perfectly and they did excellent clean up. Would definitely hire again.

The guys that installed the backsplash were excellent. They were awesome. Jack was almost flakey to me but the people who did the job were amazing. I'm very pleased with the work.

We have been wanting to replace the carpet in our living room for sometime and in the past we've turned to the big box department stores because we always thought it was cheaper. This time we decided to use a store that specializes in carpet and contacted several different companies. Jacks Tile and Carpet ended up being the best price and had the best customer service. I stopped in their showroom and I explained roughly what we were looking for (color, stain protection, softness of carpet, etc) and they showed me the various brands they carry from the low end to the high end. I provided them the rough square footage of the living room and they priced out what the carpet and pad would cost to have installed and explained that precise measurements would need to be taken to get a more accurate figure. The agent took my information and explained that she would have someone call me later in the day to set up a time for them to come out and take the measurements. Later that afternoon I received a call and within a couple days they arrived to take measurements. They brought the sample of the carpet I picked in the store but they also brought additional samples that resembled the one I liked. We ended up going with one of the samples they brought which was actually cheaper than the one we originally picked. A few short days later they called to schedule an install date. The guys installing the carpet showed up on time and were ready to get to work. I have surround sound in my living room and ran all the cables through one section of the floor, through the crawl space and back up through another section of the floor and carpet. I wanted to be able to run all those along the walls since I didn't want to have holes in the new carpet. The install guys said it wouldn't be a problem and did an amazing job of hiding it all during the installation. The removed all the old carpet and pad and had the new stuff installed in just about two hours. If it wasn't for the new carpet in the living room you would have never known they were there. The whole process was painless and we are planning on bringing them out to see about replacing our kitchen floor.

ing room/ I called this business based on reviews, and the fact that the contractor responsed to the reviews, which sproved to me that they had a desire tiful. of wanting to ensure his customers felt taken care of and any complaints were handled. Buddy arrived for our scheduled appointment, took measurements needed for the carpet. Told me exactly what the installers would do, I had a couple questions which he answered. He had the carpet samples he brought in to show me, explaining the difference in each grade, and I also asked him for some examples of wood which was nice yet out of my budget. He explained the payment procedure and I placed an order. He told me they would call with an installation date and that they probably had to place an order for the carpet but said they should call in 5-7 days. They called, we arranged a date and they arrived and did the work. They moved all the furniture and the carpet beautiful. A few days later Ithey called back to see how I was enjoying the carpet and if I had any complaints(I didn't and still don't)

Outstanding from start to finish! Robert came out and did the measuring and gave us an itemized estimate. Was very knowledgeable, friendly, answered all questions, and recommended a good quality carpet that suited our needs. Very reasonable and competitive pricing. He arranged for the install the following week. The installers, David and Henry, arrived about 10 minutes early and got right to work. Extremely professional and efficient team. Carpet looks great. Carpet seams between rooms are unnoticeable. No marks or scratches on the newly painted base boards or walls. Replaced all the furniture in the rooms, vacuumed, and cleaned up. They obviously take great pride in their work. First time using Jack's Tile and Carpet. Would definitely use them again and will highly recommend them.

Refused to do the work or even an estimate. Wanted to have me purchase the tile in Newport News store and NO where else!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would not recommend this business secondary to how I was spoken to on the phone.

They did a very professional job. David and his crew worked well together as a team and finished before their estimated time of completion.? They had to take the old flooring down to their truck by elevator and return to our 8th floor with all the new carpeting and underlayment. All this without disturbing the flow of neighbors using the elevators.? There were no complaints from anyone and they used a vacuum to clean up all carpeting debris on all walkways and elevator floors when they finished.? After carefully moving the furniture out of the work way, they replaced it either in the original places or wherever wanted.? Where seams were joined, it was done in such a way that you would never notice any difference.? I would highly recommend this company and crew for the expert job they completed.?

Robert responded quickly to all of my concerns, questions and apprehensions in person, phone and email. He spent time allowing me to make informed decisions. He gave extra time providing me with documentation and information. I look forward to doing more business with him.
