They were awesome. They were just courteous and explained everything to me. I didn't dislike anything about them. The person that came out to give the estimate was very nice. He was not pushy. He just gave me all the information, it was my decision. When they say they would be here, they were here immediately.

The guy who came out did a great job. There were a few problems I had. When I called in to set up the appointment, I received the price for the ceiling fan installation. The exhaust fan had pretty much installed (new hole cut, original removed, and new unit wired) except for a few pieces the original installer did not connect. It was located next to the room with the fan so I wanted it completed. I received an overall price and then a discount for a return customer. Overall I was quoted $350 after the discount, but I had to go buy my own light switch (I have had many other fans installed and it was always included in the price). I was also asked if I wanted the 8 am appointment. That was perfect because of my little ones' nap time and the noise. 8:30am I call to see if anyone was coming and I was told they leave their building at 8. Okay, I realize a lot of places are doing this. Saying a start time, but that is their leave time. Didn't show up to 9 and told me that the paper work said between 830 and 930. I would not have taken that time if work was not going to begin at 8am. When the man went to leave he said that he needed to see my coupon to give me the $350 price. I never said I had a coupon. He ended up giving me the agreed price after expressing what a great deal I was getting. It was a pretty standard price since I called around and got prices first. Theirs wasn't the lowest or highest. I do not like that they tired to get more after the agreed quote.

First, let me say that the electrician that came to do the work was outstanding, very professional and he really did a great job. My beef with the company had to do with the guy who came out to do the estimate. He looked things over and I said, how much. He gave me a price that was at the high end of what I thought the job should cost. We talk some more and he does the paperwork. The written price was now almost $50 more than what he had just quoted me 10 minutes before. When I mentioned this, he asked if he had said that lower price and I said , Yes.....Then he says, 'well, I won't get in too much trouble with the boss if I give it to you for that lower price.' Then he leaves my house with so much as a goodbye, a handshake or anything. If I was not in need of getting this job done ASAP, I would have gone to another company. I mean come on, did this guy think I was born yesterday? I even mentioned to the guy that I had used Angies list to find his company, as in hello, I'm going to do a review on your company.... All of the high marks in this review go to the electrician. Any mark less than an "A" are attributable to the estimator.

They had an excellent response time. The estimator and folks who performed the work were very professional and were on time. They did the work within the time frame they said they do it in and did a quality job. They had fair pricing and were responsive when we had additional questions. Their price was about the same as everybody else's.

Gault Electrical has again lived up to their reputation with an excellent installation of lighting in our vaulted great room ceiling. The work was perfect! Very professional as always. We have had Gault come four times to do various installations in our home in the past two years and each time the work and the installers were excellent. They are extremely detailed, clean, and most professional in how they conduct their business.

Serviceman came on time, was professional and worked quickly.

The service electrician explained the process, what had caused my partial power outage, and what he did to fix it. The whole process was very quick and he was incredibly thorough, and checked the other circuits as well, even though I had not been experiencing issues with them. I am very pleased with the thorough and professional job from Gault Electric.

From the first phone call to the final installation, our experience with Gault Electric was excellent. We called them requesting a visit to receive an estimate to replace an outdated kitchen light fixture with recessed lighting. The office staff was polite and helpful. An individual (Steve) was sent out to see what our needs were. He arrived a little late for the appointment (but he had called to indicate he was stuck in traffic and to be sure that we could still see him upon his arrival). He was very friendly and helpful upon his arrival, asking about our needs and going over a plan to replace the light fixture. He asked lots of questions and seemed very knowledgable. He made a suggestion about adding a couple of pendant lights over a peninsula we have, which was something we had not considered, but he in no way pressured us to choose to do that. We were quoted a reasonable price (with and without the pendants), and agreed to hire them for the work. Work was scheduled quickly at a time that was convenient to us, and the electrician ( Paul H.) arrived promptly on the day of the install. He was very courteous and conscientious about his work. He worked hard to complete the work to our satisfaction. When complete, he cleaned up and reviewed everything with us. We are very happy with the work. We will certainly use Gault Electric again if we should need additional work, and are happy to recommend them.

After embarking on a complete kitchen remodel, I determined that I needed the services of a good electrician. I contacted Gault Electric and Steve came out and gave me an estimate. The cost was much lower than I had anticipated. I requested an estimate to replace some existing switches/receptacles, have some receptacles relocated, install some new ones, install can lights over the sink, and installation of a bank of dimmer switches. Work also had to be done in the panel box to facilitate the installation of the new receptacles on a dedicated service. I agreed to move forward with the work and Gault worked with me on setting up a time for the work to be accomplished. On the date agreed to, James came out, along with a helper whose name I don't recall, and they got started on the job right away. Not only did they take care of the work I requested, but also identified a problem that was taken care of as well. I had used Gault about 3 years ago and glad I went back to them again.

My husband and I recently purchased a water purification system. The location the installer wanted it didn't include an outlet. So I read reviews on Angie's List and really liked what I read about this company. I called to get information and talked to Brandon - very helpful and very knowledgeable about the services. He mentioned we could get a free estimate, so we did. Steve came over and was very professional, very knowledgeable and very down-to-earth. Since I don't know much about electrical work, or the jargon, he spoke to my in layman terms so that'd I'd be able to understand what the work would include. He also gave us pricing for two options and explained each one. He mentioned that they take pride in their work and will do it right the first time. That's something any consumer likes to hear, especially me! Oh, he even double checked the power requirements for our water purification system to make sure whatever they supplied would work. Today was the day of installation of our new outlet. The electrician, Brett, showed up ready to work. He knew the scope of work, verified the location of the new outlet and told me the different ways he could install it based on the house and what was surrounding the walls. Since he knew what he was doing, I let him be to do his work. It didn't take long at all! It didn't even look like he did any work, it was so clean! The outlet he installed looked like it had always been there - it was so professionally done. He made sure it was GFI protected and showed me how to reset it in case it tripped. (I hope I'm using the correct lingo - if not I apologize haha). Overall, they really pay attention to what your scope of work is and make sure they go above and beyond. They only do quality work. I can't stress enough how I appreciated them taking time to explain something to me as well! If you need any work done, go get that free estimate and don't forget to mention your an Angie's List member!! :) ( Sidenote: the installer for our water purification system is new and didn't know anyone to recommend for electrical work - I'm telling him when he comes back that he should most definitely recommend Gault Electric!)

Brett from Gault Electric showed up on time and was very professional. I showed him the two bathrooms that were having the work done and he proceeded to do his job and had to go into the attic to rewire everything. It took about 4-5 hours for all the work to be completed and this was not anything I could have done on my own. Brett was very efficient with his time and respectful of my house. He cleaned everything up and vacuumed afterwards even though I told him I would do it. He was able to fix my ceiling fan in my living room because the replacement bulbs I purchased didn't work. I really thought I had just bought the wrong product but something had malfunctioned with the electrical in the unit so he fixed it. I knew it would cost a lot to have the work done but I feel like I got a fair price and would definitely hire them again!

Install went well and was very professionally done. The 25 KW generator operates our entire home with all appliances and heating/AC on at 77% load. I was originally concerned about having enough power as we installed the generator to insure electrical power for my Mother who was an in home Hospice patient for 1.5 years. Looking back 15 KW would have been sufficient. DO: Purchase Generac! The generator has operated very well for 5 years with a weekly automatic tests and several power outages. We had only two minor problems where it failed to operate during a short power outage. Both failures to operate during a power outage had to do with with the generator battery not recharging, so the battery had to be replaced 2 times in 5 years. Recently we had to replace the a starter in December 2011 at a cost of $475. Don't: We purchased a service agreement from Gault for $425 per year but looking back it was way too expensive for a once a year air filter, oil filter and oil change with performance check service and free emergency diagnositcs. In 5 years we only called for emergency diagnostics once.

He was very professional, he got right to business and did his work and he was upfront about the cost. He was really good. He really did good solid work.

I had contacted Gault Electric to perform some minor electric repairs for me and to install a motion sensor light for my backyard. When making the appointment, I asked if the individual coming to do the repair work was knowledgeable about stand-by generators. She said she didn't know, but would check. An hour or so later I received a call Brandon and he offered to come with the electrician to discuss generators. Brandon evaluated my existing electric service, discussed what I wanted covered by a generator in the event of a loss of power and gave me a proposal for a generator installation that would cover my needs. I called him several days later and said that I would like to accept their proposal. I was surprised when he told me that they could do the installation a week later. I live in a Covenant Community where outside modifications require approval of an Architectural Committee. I was fortunate that our Committee Chairman was most generous in expediting my request for approval of this project. People who live in similar communities need to keep this in mind when arranging such a project. The following week, Thursday 15 June, the electricians arrived with the generator, moved it to the back of my home and began the installation process. They removed the old circuit box and replaced it with a generator-ready box which automatically switches to the generator about 5 seconds after power loss and then switches back when power is restored. The wiring of the circuit required disconnect of our power for about 4 hours. The generator was installed on a pre-fab slab five feet from the house. The electrical lines were run from the side of my house, through the crawl space, and ended in an electrical box mounted on the foundation in the back. They then "trenched" from the foundation to the generator to lay the electric, and later, the gas lines to the generator. The entire electric work took about 7-8 hours and was done professionally. When the electricians left, my garage (site of the circuit box) was cleaner than when they arrived. LOL. The only glitch was that the sub-contractor for the gas work was delayed and when he arrived it was too late to get started on the gas work. He did some preliminary work at the gas meter and the generator and promised to return first thing in the morning to run the actual line and connect the gas. I had both electric and gas service, so this was not a problem. The gas sub-contractor arrived at 8:15 the next morning and completed his installation of the gas line through the crawlspace in about two hours. Before he left, the City inspectors had been here and signed off on the work. Later in the day, Amber from Gault Electric, came and did the start up on the generator. This entailed calling Generac to register the generator and entering information into the generator's computer(?), as well as actually starting the generator. She provided instruction on the operation of the generator (there isn't a lot that you have to, or can do, with it.) After a couple of coughs, to get the air out of the gas line, it started perfectly. The generator starts itself once a week (Wed, 2pm) to run a self test and stays on for about 10 minutes. Since installation the generator has run it's self test on time, with no problems. We have lost power once since it was installed. A week after installation we had a power outage in our neighborhood that lasted about 50 minutes. The generator kicked in and provided electricity in about 5 seconds. When the power was restored, the generator ran for about a minute (or less) and then shut itself down. Just like it was supposed to do. All the electric requirements of my home, including air conditioning, transfer to the generator in a power outage. The only items no connected to the generator are the electric stove and electric clothes dryer (big energy users). So far, without having had any extended outages, I am completely satisfied with this generator. I am also completely satisfied with Gault Electric.I had an electrician who did work for me before, but he moved out of state. I feel comfortable that I now have someone that I can trust and rely on for my electrical needs.

I was very pleased. The licensed electrician was prompt, courteous, and did excellent work. He took time and care to insure outlets were sage and solidly installed..

Gault came out promptly and properly diagnosed the wring problem in an house built in the 1920's. Charged $125 for the diagnosis, but then gave me a credit on the work when they came back out the next week. Overall pricing seemed very good for the difficult work in a very old house. Very professional and communicative.

I had two electrical outlets in the same room that stopped working. The electrician traced the problem back to a third outlet. All the outlets were originally installed when the home was built almost 40 years ago. He found the source of the problem and replaced the three outlets. I also asked him to replace a 4th outlet in another room which no longer held a plug "snuggly". When plugging a lamp into this outlet the plug was loose. An outside security sensor light no longer worked properly and the electrician replaced the light with one provided by the customer. The whole process took about 1 1/2 hours. The electrician was prompt, courteous and competent and left the area clean of work debris. Gault Electric offered a 10% discount on labor for my Angie's List membership.

I have owned four homes since 1980 and in that time dealt with many contractors. I can honestly say that this was one of the best experiences we have ever had. Gault Electric replaced an electric panel for us in 2008 and since that went well, I decided to give them a shot at this job. The initial contact was friendly and professional. Steven Jacobs, their estimator, arrived on time and spent nearly two hours with us. Recessed lighting design is as much an art as it is a skill. It makes a dramatic difference when complete, and it absolutely needs to be done right the first time. Steve listened carefully to our plans, answered lots of questions and then carefully laid out the plan. When he left, we were confident that we were on the right track. The day before the job, he came back out to discuss the final placement of the lighting and actually mark the spots. I was told the installer would arrive between 8:30 am and 9:30 am and that the job could take two days. At 8:35 am, Paul, the senior electrician arrived with a helper. Shortly after that two more electricians arrived so we suddenly had a crew of four! Paul first made sure the planned spots would work. He advised me whenever a spot would have to be moved by even a few inches due to overhead support structures. They quickly set to work and I was continually impressed with their efficiency. This crew worked hard all day. They took great care with our furniture and new hardwood floors - something I was very concerned about. Cutting ten holes in a ceiling can cause a lot of dust, but they even managed to contain most of that. What wasn't contained was caught in tarps and quickly cleaned up. The other lights, the fan, new switches and dimmers were also expertly installed. At the end of the day, they cleaned everything up and were finished ? well ahead of schedule. By finishing early, they saved me a day of vacation time ? something I really appreciate. Everyone we interacted with from start to finish was professional, courteous and a real pleasure to work with. The finished lighting looks great. I highly recommend Gault Electric.

The electrician appeared on time, introduced himself and took a brief tour of what needed to be fixed.He showed me what was wrong with each lighting problem and fixed it promptly. He was extremelyprofessional and corrected every electrical problem, even those that I had not detected. What a relief to know that everything works; but above all, it's nice to know that I can rely on someone I can call in the future and do not have to wonder about quallity and price. He even gave me a senior discount! Before he left, I showed him the copy I printed out from Angie's List explaining to him that I used thiswebsite to find him. He was amazed and said he would definitely check out this website. After using Angie's List to find a contractor, I have peace of mind and, if need be, will certainly use itagain.

Gault was excellent. I was installing a new exhaust fan with a light in the bathroom and ran into some issues and decided I needed an electrician. I called Gault and they sent someone right over to give me an estimate and approximately 2 hours later the electrician showed up, keep in mind, this was a Saturday. The electrician then informed me I was working around live wires when I thought I had cut the electricity off completely to that bathroom. The electrician took about 1 hour to complete the job and he thoroughly cleaned up when he was finished. I would definitely recommend and use this company again without hesitation.

Initial call to Gault Electric was met by a very friendly voice, who took my information and set up a time for the estimator to come out. This was within 2-3 days (over a weekend). Steven Jacobs (estimator) arrived at the scheduled time and we discussed everything I wanted done. Steve gave some suggestions then we agreed on the work. He provided a written estimate and once I agreed he indicated that he would call later with a couple of days to chose from for the work. Within 3 hrs he called back and we agreed on today May 14th for the work. He indicated that the electrician would arrive approximately 0830 and that the work would take approximately 3 hours. I will say that Steve Jacobs was very professional and knowledgeable, but more importantly really listened to what I the customer wanted. His recommendations made sense and I was very pleased with his estimate as it was a little lower than I expected. The electrician (Paul H.) called before arriving and was here within the approximated time. He was very courteous and we walked through the proposed work as I explained what I wanted. He also gave some suggestions on the placement of the outlets and answered all my questions. All the work was completed within the estimated 3 hours. Paul was very professional, cleaned up each area after finishing, and answered all my questions. It was very evident that he also was customer oriented, and I will say an asset to Gault Electric. Overall I am very pleased with the work performed by Gault Electric and would highly recommend this contractor to anyone. - They have gained a long time customer here

Technician is able to work on both modern and older circuits to include knob and tube from 1920s. They have done several jobs for me. I use them exclusively on my home in Hilton Village.
