Gault Electric LLC

They broke our new outdoor light on July 29, 2016 and promised to replace it right away. We have called them at least 6 times now and we get the same excuse. "The part was back ordered, or the part was shipped and lost or the part needs to be picked up at UPS". The light was broken by Gault Electric on July 29, 2016 and it is now September 5, 2016 and, it is STILL broken!!!!

Terrible! I called on Wed (8/31) to request service. I told the lady I spoke with at Gault that I thought the problem was associated with a "potential problem" they had ID'd during a previous service. She told me someone would be at my home today (9/2) between 3:00PM - 5:00PM. I called the Gault office at about 4:15PM to confirm someone was coming and to also confirm they would have the parts to at least fix the issue I described. The lady I spoke with notified me that NO ONE would be coming today and my appointment was rescheduled for 9/9!!! If I had not called, I would have never known nobody would be coming and to make matters worse, my Generator will not be working the weekend we are expecting a severe "Tropical Storm." They are obviously a company that is NOT reliable.

I am a first-time customer and a long-time member of Angie's List. After a few attempts with securing service from three other local electricians, I decided to contact Gault Electric after reading the reviews of Gault's performan on Angie's List. From the moment I spoke with Rhonda on the phone to make the appointment, I was very sure I was going to get good service.. Rhonda is so pleasant and helpful with giving helpful information and scheduling. The electrician, Paul H., and his helper, Troy, gave a pre-arrival call with a 15-minute window on the date of the appointment. I was impressed with not only their professionalism and neat work, but also their easy and friendly nature, in performing with work needed. They are a couple of really nice guys. The cost of the job, minus the generous discount coupon, was a welcomed surprise, and very much appreciated by this retiree. I am looking forward to Paul and Troy returning to complete my future electrical needs. Many thanks to Gault Electric.

It was wonderful for me but terrible for her fix the generator out in the rain under a tarp in the lightening. They were very nice people.

Arrived on time and got the work accomplished in some pretty nasty weather. They installed a 200 amp electrical panel, relabeled all the circuit breakers, and installed new grounding system. The install was clean and the new electrical panel looks great. Brett was very knowledgeable and approachable. He asked about future projects in my garage (The reason this upgrade was necessary) and was able to shed some knowledge from an electrical point of view. I had a great experience with this company and would recommend them for any future work.

Install was schedule the day after closing but owner from Gault came out to make sure the generator was installed before the day before closing, so two days ahead of schedule. He made it so the buyer and seller were both happy and could close on the house on time. Very professional and polite to everyone involved. It was great service all around! Thanks again, Kenneth

I had purchased a 20 amp GFI outlet but found it difficult to install. Knowing that the day before Thanksgiving it would be impossible to get someone out, I began the calls around to see when and how much. One company wanted $350 plus using their outlet. I called Gault Electric and they advised it would be Monday at the earliest. I explained the open wires I had and after a minute on hold they advised someone would be out that afternoon!! As promised, the electrician showed up and using my previous purchased outlet, installed it and made sure it was working properly. The electrician turned out to be the owner!!!!!. Definitely going to use them for all our electric work

Bottom line up front: Great service by electrician but front office and billing is poor. The electrician was prompt and incredibly professional. I could not ask for any better service from a technician. He was very efficient and quickly found the problem and fixed it. Only concern with this company is their billing practice and the main office. I requested an appointment via Angie's List and followed up with a phone call--I planned to leave a message as it was after hours. Surprisingly Mike Gault answered the phone. He was very pleasant and said he saw the e-mail from Angie's List and someone from the front office would call me in the morning. When no one called the next morning I called and made an appointment. Yes, I did call early due to a meeting but it was clear they never saw the e-mail from Angie's List. The appointment went very well. As stated earlier, the visit by the electrician was the best and he did a great job. When I got the bill it was quite a bit more than I expected. My neighbor who was talking with me during the job saw the bill and said that I was charged a lot more than he was by another company. Oh well, the electrician was really good. But then I noticed an additional fuel charge. The charge was only $5 but I am getting tired of additional fees being used to raise prices. I called the office and asked about the fuel charge and was told it was due to high gas prices. When I explained that gas was at record lows when adjusted for inflation the story changed. The lady then explained that Mike did not want to raise his prices so he added the fuel charge. She definitely did not care and it was very obvious in her tone and attitude, nothing rude just very uninterested; hence the "D" in professionalism. I feel that this business is using bogus fees to raise prices. They should just raise their price and make the entire experience an "A+". Would I use them again? Probably not. I may be willing to pay the extra for great service but the office interaction missed the mark. First Hour: $125 Supplies: $23.75 Fuel Charge: $5.00

Wonderful service. Could not be more pleased. Gave us a great deal too ,threw in a couple of extras at their cost.

The bulb needed to be replaced, which they took care of. They ended up charging me a service charge! It was $112 just to have them come out (which I was NOT informed of ahead of time) and change the bulb and they charged me a $5 surcharge for gas plus the cost of the bulb! I could have gone out and bought that $12 bulb and changed it myself. I would not use them again because I don't feel I can trust them to give me accurate information. I also thought it was bad that at the end of the call, I wrote Ray a check and he did not leave me with a copy of the invoice.

After our 20 year old AC unit lost all of the R22 freon, and cost $420 to replace, it was time to replace our Gas Furnace and AC unit. I attempted to get 3 estimates. The first company that replaced the R22 freon never showed for the replacement estimate. A coworker had recommended Gault Electric for electrical services. When I saw they also did HVAC, I contacted them for a replacement estimate. Albert was on time, professional and personable. He explained proper airflow, grading and pipes that were not to code. I appreciated this extra information. The third estimate from a popular, reputable company was pretty standard. It came in less than Gault. However they never discussed if the pipes was included in the estimate or if they would be updated. Ultimately I went with Gault. Albert came back to review the terms with my husband. We set an installment date and our system was completed that day. Albert offered to come back to service our upstairs unit for free using the Dominion Power program. During this appointment he was just as professional and personable. Gault Electric was always responsive to my phone calls and on time for appointments. This experience has been much more positive than working with other companies in the Hampton Roads area. Thanks Albert for a job well done!!

Robert Taylor arrived promptly at the time he said he would be arriving. He jumped right into fixing the situation. He was very professional and personable the whole time. With a little bit a trouble shooting, the issue was alleviated and fixed. He was very timely and knowledgeable. I have had Gault Electric work 2 other issues in the past. I would absolutely recommend Robert and the company to anyone.

I was so pleased with Gault Electric. After home inspection,a potential buyer based on home inspector report asked for a few things to be fixed. Gault electric evaluated the situation and gave me a VERY affordable solution to potential home buyers concerns. Thank you, thank you, thank you for being honest and upstanding.

As of three days ago, one of the outlets in lighting shorted so I have not been able to use one of the rooms. Otherwise everything else has been perfect. They were very efficient. The amount of work that I needed them to do they absolutely did it in a very timely fashion and they also assisted with installing a ceiling fan and made sure it worked as well. So I've been pleased with the work that they performed.

I have used Gault Electric for the last three years. I am a service provider who usually works with Hoarders. Their home are in disrepair. To get them back up and running I rely on Gault Electric. They are outstanding; easy to work; on time; do what their supposed to do; make sure they do what is necessary to meet the customers requirements and not a bunch of extras. They have worked on our home three times and with 5 other clients. Gault Electric is my go to Electrical company. The best!

It was Gault Electric LLC that I used. I would grade them 'A's in all categories.

The repairmen turned up on time. They were very polite and came with a copy of the work proposal that was written up when I asked them to come and give me a quote on the repairs. They got to work quickly and cleaned up after. They fixed a couple of electrical sockets, put in a GCFI outlet, replaced some wiring for the AC, changed out a breaker switch, and trouble shooted a problem with an electrical outlet. They even explained what the problem was and how they were going to fix everything. I would definitely recommend them and use their services again if I ever have electrical problems again. Very happy with the service.

The HVAC person turned up on time, was polite, and got to work quickly. I had an air return vent completely replaced, the AC unit leveled, re-attached a duct to the vent under the house and a few other things that were listed in the proposal that needed to be looked at. I was very happy with the work. I would definitely use them again in the future and would recommend their service.

They pulled all the builders permits, and made all appointments with the utilities companies. The insured the power and gas was off the minim amount of time.They came and made all the need repairs and cleaned up after themselves. After the generator was installed they showed us how it worked .

They did a great job. They sent 3-4 people out to do the job. They got the job done over 2 days. The cleanup was tremendous and you could not tell they had been here.

Never had work done because they failed to show up for two different estimates and never called to say why.

Gault Electric was a pleasure to work with. It was, by my estimation, a small job, but they came out right away to do an estimate and promptly started about a week later. The job was finished in one afternoon, done well, and the installers were very professional and courteous. I would not hesitate to use them again, and would highly recommend them.

The estimator arrived on time, assessed my power needs and provided me with a very good price for the generator required. Moreover,Gault met the cost of a competitors bid and I was able to bargain with the company for a free first year's maintenance service. Any questions I had concerning other bids, the Gault estimator was able to answer and provide me with questions to ask them. The date of the installation had to be moved once, but I was informed and the change actually worked to my advantage as we had our daughter and family visiting during the scheduled installation date. I was surprised the day before the installation to have the main electrician assigned to my job show up to assess the situation and begin the actual preparation. The pad area was selected, leveled and the pad installed that afternoon. The day of the installation, they arrived early (~8 a.m.) and commenced work. There must have been 5 or 6 people working together all at the same time but in harmony. Even the co-owner of the company came to keep his hand in the electrical work by using his tools, primarily with the transfer switch. It was go, go, go for about four hours for this team. The electrical inspector came and gave final approval around 11 a.m. and the crew left before 1 p.m. to get lunch and go to another job site. That afternoon, the generator was plumbed and the line was set up for pressure testing. The next morning, the gas line was inspector-approved and in the afternoon the gas line was connected to the meter by a very experienced person. She told me the things to look out for with the engine/generator, the sequencing of events and we ran through two transfers of power. She was very good and thorough, documenting all important items for my quick referral. All in all, the Gault team was VERY PROFESSIONAL, quick, well-trained and easy to work with. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a generator to provide them with the right-sized unit and to have it installed in a prompt and correct manner.

Our A/C was not cooling properly. We called Gault and they promptly arrived the next morning to check out the system. It turned out that our system had a clogged drain tube, was in dire need of a cleaning and needed 3 pounds of freon. An hour and a half later, our A/C was cooling the house nicely. The technician took the time to explain in detail what was wrong with our system, what needed to be done to get it up and running, and why he did what he did. Thank goodness for honest business people.
