Kevin showed up and quickly diagnosed the problem. He performed a couple tests and verified that the problem was a bad neutral on the service side (meaning it was the power company's responsibility). He then took the time to call the power company himself to explain the problem to them directly, so that they would come out with the right test equipment to verify and fix the problem. To me, that goes above and beyond what I would expect for a visit to provide a free estimate, and it got a quick response from the power company as well.

The electrician from Gault was scheduled to arrive between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM. He pulled into the driveway promptly at noon. He was professionally dressed, articulate and very polite. After a quick review of the work to be performed, he efficiently completed each task. He was exceptionally neat and tidy. We were surprised and pleased to receive a 10% discount by mentioning that we were Angies List subscribers. Overall we were completely satisfied with the work and felt very comfortable with the technician, Paul H. He was a jewel! Hurrah for Gault!!!

They are magnificent. They are nice people. They come in and do their work and they know what they are supposed to do. When they left they brought in a vacuum and cleaned up their mess and it was all done.

Friendly and professional owner described the service and price accurately over the phone. He then sent a very qualified technician to do the job. Technician arrived on time and did a very professional job, accomplishing not only the fan installation, with an effective seal around the roof hole cut for the fan, but also accommodating my requests for a dedicated electric line to the new fan. I wanted the dedicated line to avoid using existing power circuit lines that had other equipment, such as computers and internal house lighting on them. Tech cleaned up thoroughly afterwards. The work was done well within the estimated time communicated by the owner. The job price was lower than the estimates provided by several other competitors.

Fantastic! After many no shows, or no call backs from other companies or individuals, this company scheduled my appointment the very next day, arrived on time, and were very professional!

Professional and friendly service. A bit of trouble reaching them after deciding to go ahead with the service. Had to call them numerous times to have them return and do the work. Overall, was pleased with their service.

On July 20th, 2011, I spoke with Mike Gault, the owner of Gault Electrical, for an estimate for the following work: (1) to remove an existing ceiling fan/light and ceiling medallion in my den, (2) to install a Hunter ceiling fan and light, (3) to install a new ceiling medallion above this fan, (4) and to replace a broken kitchen outlet wall switch for my kitchen garbage disposal. I stated I was a member of Angie's List where I obtained his company's name and noted that I am a senior citizen looking for a good price. He was most kind and personable. Mike quoted $130 for the above work and said there would be no charge for replacing the kitchen outlet wall switch. I agreed to this work. I requested that when his employee came, would he give me a price to replace my existing living room ceiling fan, which I planned to replace next year. I stated the fan was located twelve feet above the floor. Mike said if I obtained a living room ceiling fan, prior to the agreed upon work, the fee for the removal of both fans and installations would be $150. Needless to say, I was thrilled with the price and thanked him. It took several weeks for me to research and purchase the living room ceiling fan. Gault Electric's employees, Dan and Par, arrived at our agreed upon time and date of August 25th. The men were knowledgeable, thoughtful, respectful and professional. They quickly removed the den's existing ceiling fan/light and medallion, installed the new ceiling medallion and new Hunter fan with light. As requested, Dan installed the remote, for this fan, on the wall switch. Par removed the broken kitchen wall switch for the garbage disposal and replaced it. In the living room, they unpacked the Emerson ceiling fan/light and noted that there were no screws/hardware enclosed. Everything came to a halt. I telephoned the company, where I purchased this fan, and was informed they would contact the manufacturer and have the missing items sent as soon as possible. Because of these missing parts, this required an extra trip for Gault's staff to complete the work. I was very concerned this would increase the original stated estimate. I was disgusted with the company, where I purchased the Emerson fan, because they assured me they checked all parts prior to delivering it to my home. I sincerely apologized to Gault's two staff members. They were most understanding. Dan stated that the Emerson wall remote required a different wall plate then was currently installed over the electrical switches. Also, I requested that he look at my existing master bathroom ceiling fan wall switch and asked the price to install a timer to replace this switch. Dan checked and stated that the cost for materials and labor for these changes would be $35. I authorized this additional material and labor. It took several weeks to research and purchase the living room fan. Dan and Joey, from Gault Electrical, returned to complete the job on September 2nd. The Emerson fan is a large 60" fan and heavy. Both men worked diligently and quickly to install the ceiling fan, attached light, and wall mounted remote control with the new wall plate. Dan then installed the master bathroom in-line ceiling fan wall timer. During both days, Dan, Par and Joey thoroughly picked-up all debris and removed the packaging materials for the fans/lights. My concern that I would be charged extra because Gault's employees had to return, through no fault of their own, to finish the job was unfounded. For all of this work, I was charged $185. I must say that this experience with Gault Electric was wonderful! Beginning with Mr. Gault and then his three employees, Dan, Par and Joey. I can see why this company warrants straight "A"s on Angie's List. If possible, I would give them A++++++++++++!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the future, I shall always call Gault Electric for any electrical work. I wish all companies functioned as they do. Gault Electric IS the BEST!!!

Kevin, came out to give me an estimate and provide me with two options to choose from. Was able to schedule an appointment for the following week. Paul, came to do actual labor, very friendly, prompt, & explained everything he did.

The electrician was able to run a black wire from the GFI circult through conduit to the disposal switch. The charge was for an hour of labor less a 10% coupon discount from their website. (Check their site for coupons before you call them.) I was pleased with their work.

They provided excellent service and were very reasonable.

When our dishwasher stopped mid-cycle Sunday night, we checked the circuit panel to see if a breaker had tripped. No breakers had tripped, but there was a humming noise coming from the panel, which stopped when we turned off the breaker for the dishwasher. The technicians came out Monday within a couple hours of our call. Another breaker (not the one for the dishwasher) turned out to be causing the humming noise. After eliminating that as the cause of my dishwasher issue, the technicians discovered a loose wiring connection under the dishwasher, which they repaired and placed in a new junction box. We were very happy that the problem wasn't more severe and more than pleased that Gault was able to remedy the problem that day.

The workers arrived on time and completed all of the items on our list that day, despite the rainy weather. They were very courteous in cleaning up after each task was completed. Even when they encountered minor issues (due mainly to our home being built in 1941), they remained professional and dedicated to completing the tasks up to standard. We are very satisfied with all of the work they performed.

While having my furnace serviced, the electricity in the basement (where the furnace is located) shorted out. This event was followed by a burning smell. After turning off the electricity to the entire house, I called my father-in-law, who recommended Gault without hesitation after they had performed emergency electrical work for him. I called Gault, and, impressively, the technician was here within 30 minutes. There were 2 complicating factors that impacted the job. First, the faulty wiring was in a very narrow section of crawlspace. Second, that section of crawlspace, and the area leading into that section, was filled with water from recent heavy rain (which contributed to the wiring shorting out). The technicians didn't make this into my problem, however. Instead, they brought in a submersible pump to eliminate all the water from the areas they needed to access. Because of the complicating factors, the work took a day and a half to complete, which, given the circumstances was perfectly acceptable, given that I called them in an emergency. We are extremely impressed with Gault Electric.

He was delayed about 3 hours due to other customer calls he had to get to before he got to me. He called to tell me where he was and approximately how long it would take before he would get here. He quickly ascertained the problem causing the circuit breaker to trip was a bad upper water heater element. He disconnected the faulty upper element hoping that the lower element could provide some hot water while I waited for a plumber to come. I asked him if he could install a ceiling fan and light since I had to pay for an hours work anyway, and he willingly agreed. He ran into a challenge with some of the screws not fitting properly but overcame the challenge quickly with screws he had in his truck. He got the fan and light installed as quickly as he could and I did not end up paying anything extra for the extra work. I was happy to know that the water heater was the issue and not some electrical short in the wiring of a 4 year old condo.

The guys from Gault Electric came to my rescue and saved the day. First they gave me advise on where I could find a generator before hurricane Irene hit, everyone in town was sold out. Then I found out that the plug that was wired to the house was the wrong one. I only had one day to get it fixed so we would be ready for the storm. They sent out Phillip to give me an estimate and later that evening they, Mike and Will, came out to install it. They were very professional and were done with the job in no time. I don't think that I would have been able to get anyone else to come out to do the job that day. We were without power for 4 days so the generator was a great help. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the job they did for us. You don't see too many business that will come and help you out in a time of need. I will recommend to all my friends as the guys in the white hats. Thanks - Kathy

Unlike the first person we called for an estimate, they showed up. Everyone from the owners on down were pleasant and professional. They called before they showed up and always showed up on time. The job was done in two days, as expected and passed electrical and gas inspections the first time.We have 2 large dogs and the guys all worked together with me to keep the dogs happy and out of their way. I find that many times when men show mechanical or electrical work to a female, they are condescending. This was not the case. The owners showed me every aspect of the generator in a very easily understandable way. Two days later the power went out for 3 hours and we were able to do laundry, watch TV and most importantly, keep the house cool.

This is the first time I used him. He came out and within half an hour resolved the problem that I have been fighting with since last October. He recognized the issue within minutes of coming here. There was a part that he needed. There was another one of his trucks in my neighborhood. He went over there and got the part that he needed from them. He was back before I could believe it and got the issue resolved.

Phillip arrived promptly on schedule, and called prior to arriving. He begin but noting the current panel and breakers, with several heavy sighs. the old panel came out with some effort, and the new panel required a great deal more. Not only was the space limited between the studs of an eighty year old house, it seems the panel was slightly (1/4 inch0 wider than the prior panel and too small for the space. Finally after some struggle, we agreed to allow him to use a Saw-all and trim the stud to permit the panel to be seated properly. After asking us if we want to leave the first tow slot for a possible future power generator 9we agreed), Phillip began the arduous task of reconnecting and then verifying the circuits. This process took most of the day, but he found all but two of them. A double pole breaker for 30 amps (which was discovered in the attic the following Monday) and a single pole 15amp listed as water pump, but could not locate. Phillip returned the following Monday, after which we suggested the attic and possible water pump, was for the Boiler and radiant heating which was turned off. He disconnected the attic’s 30amp (which we later reassigned to a new HVAC install the next week), and we had three extra blank slots, plus the two reserved for the power generator. Gault shows great professionalism during the install and was very fair pricing. More so, they responded quickly vise other complies I tried to contact. If I need an electrician an in the Hampton area, I will first contact Gault.

Although I should have had them give a estimate first as they were a bit pricey, the work they did was very good and the technician was very professional and did good work.

From the consultation visit and initial estimate, to responding to multiple follow-up questions, to installation and final clean-up, Gault and their dedicated, knowledgeable and personable crew did an extraordinarily fine job in absolutely every respect. I am most impressed with their thorough-going professionalism and will definitely turn to them again.

Joe was very professional, polite, and knowledgeable. He was very neat and tidy, and worked carefully and considerately. He was not a "bull in a china shop!" He took the time to protect my new stove, was careful around my wood floors, and did an excellent job of installing the hood. He made sure I was happy with the installation and that I understood how to use the hood before he left. He even gave me cleaning tips! This was a small job, but if Joe handles a little job with this much care and attention, I trust that he would certainly go the extra mile with more "important" projects. His attitude and work habits were outstanding.

I called Gault Electric for an estimate on a list of electrical chores and wishes that had accomulated over a few months. Kevin arrived that same afternoon. He reviewed my list while walking through the house and yard with me. He made notes, asked questions to clarify what was wanted and offered suggestions about fixtures and their placement. He wrote the proposal at my kitchen counter and waited while my husband and I reviewed his offer. It was accepted and work was scheduled to begin early Monday morning. A team of two men arrived at 8 AM and worked til 4 PM. They accomplished everything on the list. This meant balancing on beams in the attic, wiggling through the crawl space, digging a trench and checking with me about outlet and switch locations. Jeff and Rob were friendly, took pride in their work and showed patience while I made decisions. Each worked on individual jobs but helped each other as needed.

The breaker for the dryer was not functioning, which we found out when we installed the new washer and dryer! (I'm OK with that as the ones they replaced were REALLY old and not efficient.) Called late on a Friday afternoon and the service man appeared within minutes. He diagnosed the problem quickly and was able to get a new breaker. He also inspected the panel box and venting to make sure there were not any other issues. My new washer and dryer were functioning within an hour of the initial call, which was great as we were washing clothes before my daughter returned to school. Yes, I will use them again and will document my experience here. Very friendly, very professional, very caring.
