Bush's Electric Company

Andrew and Ryan came out and fixed an electrical outlet problem in my house. They discovered that the house was wired a little wrong (built in 1991) and ended up fixing the issue by installing two GFCI's (the outlets with test/reset buttons) to spread the circuit load throughout the house. Previous to this, there was only one GFCI controlling all the sockets on the outside of the house and all the way down two floors into the garage which didn't make sense. This turned out to be incredibly frustrating while in the garage and the outlet would reset but the button would be three floors up in the bathroom. There was also a light toggle/switch that was sunk-in to the wall due to poor craftsmanship on initial installation that they fixed by replacing the gang box and making the switch flush again with the wall. This was purely an aesthetic fix. Discovering, testing, and correcting the GFCI issue over three floors and four bathrooms was complex but Andrew and Ryan were consummate professionals and executed their jobs as expected of an "A" rated company on Angie's List. *** If I could give a higher grade for Professionalism, I would give these two gentlement an A+ *** NOTE: As of writing this review 30 Mar 2014 I have just purchased the 8 hour service again from Bush's Electric Company to have the same two come out again to do address some other electrical issues that could not be addressed the last time due to the time limitations.

Firstly, Andrew was very accommodating with my ever changing schedule. He and his parter, Ryan, arrived a few minutes early ( and got straight to work. My home is over 70 years old and something is always needed in the repair department. Some updates have been made, some have not. They were very knowledgable about all areas of my home and were able to work around my very active toddler. They were able to fix 1 out of the 3 receptacles that were needed. 2 of them weren't functional to begin with and required additional wiring. They even replaced those outlets with tamper-resistant ones for my child. I was very happy that they didn't try to "upsell" me like most contractors do. I was very happy with the service and plan to use them in the future.

He corrected issues that I had done by another electrician was able to show me the problem fixed everything everything is working perfectly now

It turned out excellent. They guy showed up and he tackled exactly what I needed. He also took care of other things I wanted him to look at. I would recommend him and my friend also used him as well and was satisfied. The scheduling was good and I didn't have any problems. He showed up right on time.

It went very well. They were very professional and knowledgeable. It was a miserable day, cold and wet. It did not affect the work at all. He explained what he was doing and answered all questions that I had. I will definitely use the company again.

The service provider was prompt and punctual. He did a professional and outstanding job. He walked my wife through every step of his work and was extremely competent. I am planning on having more work done in the future and will definitely use him again. I would also recommend him to my family and friends for any electrical work.

We had some problems with our electrical circuit for the lights in the kitchen and utility room. Mr. Bush and his helper fixed the problem. They were very professional and courteous. They did the other work in a timely and professional manner. We were very pleased with the quality of the work.

I must congratulate Andrew Bush and his assistant, Ryan, on great customer service and smart work. I bought the $99 special offered by Angie's List . As soon as I bought the deal, I got an email setting up an appointment. An hour before the appointment, he called and apologized as a previous job had run over and said he would be 1/2 hour late. He arrived at 2:30pm, fully introduced himself and his assistant, then asked how he could help. He was attentive, friendly, and willing to make suggestions without overriding our ideas. He came into a very chaotic situation and made our move so much easier. He saved us quite a bit of money when we were asking him to do something harder i.e. more expensive than necessary. He was glad to make suggestions over the phone on what he would need if we wanted to buy it in advance which saved us money also. They worked longer than the special hours and then stuck around to give us an estimate on future work. For the record, we've happily scheduled them for more work this week. Their prices are reasonable and their willingness to do what the customer needs is outstanding. If you need a trustworthy, hardworking electrician, this is the company to hire.

I can't say enough good things about Mr. Bush and his services. He arrived promptly on the agreed upon time with an assistant and got right to work trying to figure out why the outlets weren't grounded. He crawled under the house to investigate and finally came up with the cause - when we had a security system installed in our house after we moved in, the security company accidentally drilled through the grounding wire in the closet where the primary battery was installed and thereby caused all of the outlets from that point on to not be grounded. He and his assistant quickly located the problem area and fixed it in no time flat. All of the outlets are now grounded and we are in complete compliance with the home inspection requirement. Mr. Bush was totally professional and thorough. In addition, he secured some wires that had been flagged on the inspection report as well to an outside generator panel. I was totally impressed and satisfied with his work. We had originally called him to inquire about the $99.00 special which provided two hours of electrical labor but I told him what the problem was and admitted that I didn't know if two hours would be adequate to complete the job. I told him that I was considering getting the 8 hour $249.00 special but he told me to wait until he came out and had a chance to see what the problem was and then decide which package I wanted to go with. He could have told me to buy the more expensive package just to be on the safe side, but he didn't. As it turned out, the $99.00 package was all that I needed and we saved a good bit of money. I appreciate his honesty and integrity and would not hesitate to use his services again. He rates 5 stars in my book!!

Contractor called the morning of the scheduled service to let me know they were running late due to poor road conditions. They arrived at the new time and promptly went to work. Both workers were extremely professional and kept me apprised of exactly what they were doing. When they went into the attic to check out the lights, they asked me to come up so that they could show me some problems that they identified that were unrelated to the initial call. They not only fixed the ceiling lights and the problems with the electrical outlets that I initially contacted them about, but fixed all issues that were identified code violations. These had probably been in my home for years that had never been identified before. There were also exposed wires in the electrical panel that were live and had been just tucked in the corner of the electrical panel. The initial service coupon was for one electrician for eight hours or two for four hours. All services were completed within the four hour period. The only additional cost to me was $60.00 for supplies. When Bush's Electrical left my home, all of my ceiling lights were working and my outlets as well. I was thoroughly satisfied that all of my concerns had been addressed, that my home was in better condition than when they arrived and that I knew that I didn't have to worry about any safety issues. I am planning a kitchen remodel in the future and will be contacting Bush Electrical to do all of the electrical work.

They replaced a builder grade boring ceiling light with a pendant light in my stairwell which is over 15 ft high. They were on time, courteous, cleaned up, and quick about the job. I'm pleased with the company and will use them again. I had the coupon from Angie's List which gave me two hours for $99. Way less than I was quoted by other companies.

I contacted Mr. Bush thru an Angie's list deal based on the reviews that had been posted for his company .He responded promptly and was able to accommodate one of the dates I had requested for the work to be done. Arrived early with his assistant , assessed the job, explained what the code required for my city, made sure I knew the terms of the "deal" I had purchased and left to purchase what was needed to complete the job. Upon return they promptly went to work and never stopped until it was completed. They even accommodated another request for a light fixture to be installed in the attic as an afterthought. The job required working in a not so pleasant attic environment but despite this there were no pleasantries...clean up was immaculate. Mr. Bush & Company are true professionals! It 's nice to know there are still professionals out there...we have not had much luck with a lot of other Angies List contacts prior to to this experience...

Owner and assistant arrived on time. Their office out of Newport News, 45 minute drive to my house near Sandbridge. They took care of 4 of the 5 jobs listed. The one they couldn't fix was more a limitation of my existing equipment (outdoor lighting). I was happy with their service and appreciate their professionalism. Would call on them again.

I bought the two hours of labor deal offered on Angie's List. I was remodeling my laundry room, my washer and dryer were located on different walls and were inconvenient to use. I hired Bush's Electric to disconnect the existing 220 volt outlet and install a new one. Mr. Bush contacted me promptly after I paid for the deal online and we made an appointment. On the day of the appointment he called me when was about twenty minutes away, telling me he was on his way. He arrived on time, looked over the job,ask a couple questions and went right to work. He did ask me if I was aware the deal was for labor only, and that I would be paying for the material he used, to which I replied I did. The price of the material was reasonable. His appearance and demeanor were very professional. The job was done professionally, neatly, and quickly. My walls are cinder block, so the conduit is visible. I couldn't be happier with the results. I highly recommend Bush's Electric.

This contractor was friendly, he showed up on time, he cleaned up his mess, and he minimzed the damage to the drywall by coring drilling and plugging. All I had to do is mud and sand the plugs before I painted the room. The $99 coupon for labor on Aggies list was a great price. And he was in and out in under two hours. It would have taken me a lot more time to do the work myself so it was well worth the money. I would hire him again.

Mr. Bush and his helper arrived on time to install new electric baseboard heaters in two rooms. They put the thermostats on the opposite walls. I had a problem heating two bedrooms upstairs in the back of my 1975 house. They were working the whole time. I supplied the parts. They had to make a few holes in the walls to run wires and put the pieces of drywall back in so all I need to do is plaster some small areas. They were polite, efficient and vacuumed after the work, leaving the rooms neat. I would hire them again for electrical work.

Andrew Bush of Bush's Electric Company has a "can-do" attitude. He has done perhaps six projects over two widely spaced days for me. All of them were quality installs. Where other bidders had problems figuring out the "how-to" with oddball projects (such as running ugly office "spaghetti" wires under the house and up the other side of the room on an outside wall), nothing seems to be a problem for Mr. Bush. He itemizes - costs are laid out like a cafeteria menu -- and this is not usually the case. More often, one finds that all the work is lumped together. This is so much better than the uncomfortable feeling that you sometimes get that estimators are pulling numbers out of thin air. Efficient in getting the projects done. Responsive about returning calls and coming quickly to look at what you need done. Remarkably prompt - if he says 8:00, you had better be ready for the day. While other estimations were given with much head-scratching and ambivalency, he found the most direct method for planning each job. Very reasonably priced - believe it, I had a number of Angie's List estimates. Uncomplicated, pleasant, reserved, and comfortable to be around. The helpers he brings into your home are likewise quality people. They left the work area better than they found it (vacuuming), with the exception of replacing the furniture positions. I didn?t notice that the office chair was too close to the bookcase in the back until I swiveled the chair and knocked loose a segment of veneer on a bookcase. Mr. Bush is careful about measurements (he was installing a tricky, high placed picture light threaded around a fireplace, and it was aligned to within a fraction of an inch). Industrious, intelligent, and energetic. You get the sense that he likes his job, respects his customer, and loves being his own boss. If Bush's Electric isn't the most sought-after electrical services firm one day in this area (Williamsburg), I will be surprised.

Bush's Electric saved me from risk of electrical shock or possible house fire by bringing my electric to code. They were the most professional, informative, and timely workers in have ever met. The owner of the company was on site and working during the entire job. He is definitely a man of his word and character is beyond reproach. I will only use him for here forward and would recommend him to family and friends. Honesty and integrity is almost impossible to find today and he demonstrated both as well as his workers. Bush's Electric is a must for anyone considering any type of electrical work!!

My wife and I were satisfied with the work.

I needed 2 lengths of CAT5 cable pulled from a central closet to the exterior wall at the back of the house for the installation of additional security cameras. Although deal details excluded exterior installations, the electrician agreed in advance to perform the work since I did not require the actual installation of the cameras. The electrician and his helper completed the work well within the 2 and half hour estimate and I know that one of the cable pulls was not easy. I definitely would consider using him again for future projects and would recommend to friends.

Mr Bush arrived right on time, listened to my concerns, answered my questions and went right to work. All of my concerns were addressed and repaired where applicable and I am very happy with the services Mr Bush provided. He was on time...actually about 3 minutes early. He was courteous, knowledgeable, respectful and professional and he even cleaned up his own mess! I will be calling him 'my electrician' and recommending his company to friends and family.

They were extremely professional and very timely. I liked that he informed me what he was doing, why he was doing it, and I understaood what he was trying to get done. While he was here, which really helped, he checked out all my ground fault interruptors which turned out to be why I had the problem I was having when I first called. They located that very quickly, and they went through and checked all the other ones in the house. They very quickly replaced the ground fault interruptor that was bad, and everything worked fine. It was a few more dollars than I paid for the big deal, but this was one of the first one I used that they worked with you on it. He was a little confused on it until we went over it together, and he said he understood it. I noticed they had another big deal for electrical service. He wanted to work with Angie's List because people didn't know he was around and when he got in business with Angie's List he started to get a lot more. Unfortunately I missed his last deal by a few days because I hadn't checked my email, but if he has another deal come up I will grab it. They were very professional.

Andrew arrived promptly and accomplished the light placement in just over a half hour. He left the bathroom in the same shape it was in before he started the work. I then asked if he could remove an annunciator box from the living room wall for an alarm system that was no longer used (new wireless system installed). Done! He is now my electrician of choice.
