The provider showed up on time and was very courteous and professional. He showed me the different locations that I could install the new light fixture and made recommendations based on where the vanity mirror was to be installed. They worked quickly and cleaned up after they were done. I got a good quote on another project, so I will be calling them again in the new future. I would highly recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Never used this contractor before. Purchased 2 hours of electrical work for 99.00 special after reading the list reviews on Mr. Bush's company. After purchasing special sent Email to Mr. Bush on company Email address obtained from the company's webpage. Got an email response within 24 hours acknowledging Job scope and parts requirements and request for additional data on florescent light bulb type. Set up service visit for Friday 5/30/2014. Received phone call from Mr. Bush informing me that the Friday appointment had to be rescheduled due to critical work. Instead of scheduling for a later date he ask if I could support work Thursday 5/29/2014 at 12 noon. When they arrived at 11:30 AM 5/29/2014 I showed them the work area and gave them complete access to the items needing repair or replacement. He and his son then went to work finishing the job by 1:30PM which is a total 4 hours of electrical labor and parts. Cost breakdown 99.00 for Angie's List 2 hour labor special plus 140.00 for two additional hours worth of labor plus 140.00 cost for 2 fixture ballast assemblies, 4 feet of new romax 12-2 cable, and 2 new 28 volt bulbs, 1 T12 florescent bulb, 1 hospital grade outdoor GFCI outside receptacle, 1 light switch assembly, 1 dual light switch box plate assembly, caulking compound, and miscellaneous wire nuts, connectors, and fasteners. A complete cleanup was done after the job and Mr. Bush left business cards for I and the wife so we would not have to search for a reputable licensed electrical contractor ever again. Yes I will use him again and highly recommend them for those looking for contractors who also do the smaller scope jobs. He came into Norfolk from the business location in Newport News to do the job but doesn't charge for the trip time, the gas, or the wear and tear on his equipment. Some may feel that an average labor rate of 60 to 70 dollars per hour is high but it is very reasonable for the level of service we received. I felt good handing over the check for a job well done.
Description of Work: 1. Obtained and changed out kitchen overhead light ballast and bulbs. 2. Obtained and changed out garage florescent light ballast and bulbs. 3. Fished new 12-2 romax cable for outside GFI receptacle and replaced burned up outside GFI receptacle box. 4. Corrected wiring error in Garage Florescent Bank causing ballast failure. 5. Installed new light switches and box in garage giving us control of the lights on one switch and control of the ceiling fan on another.

Bush's Electric were on time and worked tirelessly for 8 hours on many and varied electical projects as noted above. They were courteous, cleaned up after themselves, and overall made us feel much safer regarding the overall electrical wiring condition of our house - newly bought and a "handyman special". We plan to use them again and I would highly recommend this company to everyone. They did great work and went above and beyond!

Mr Bush and his assistant arrived ready to go. Ladders, toolboxes, tools, etc were flying in the house. He assessed the location, asked a couple of questions, and then off to the attic to disconnect the existing light and install a wiring box and 2X4 to span the ceiling joists and hang the fan from. Workflow was smooth and quick, each technician knew what the other was doing and they worked well together. Once installed, they tested the fan and lights, made sure everything was to my satisfaction, packaged the trash, vacuumed the area and then departed. Quick, efficient, and knowledgeable - I will hire Mr Bush for any electrical work that I need in the future and I know the results will be top notch.

Really well, even when the new ceiling fan proved to have a broken light socket. On the hottest day so far this year, they proceded to uninstall and disassemble the fan they had just assembled and installed, and they took it back to the store. They returned with a new fan and installed it - all very professionally. If it had been me, I'd have been using some unprintable language, but not these guys. They made sure the work they did was up to code, which meant a few extra steps since this is a 70 year old house. They even worked around my (very large) dog.
Description of Work: Installed new ceiling fan, wall sconces, outside electric outlet, and replaced circuit breakers. I provided some of the materials, they provided others, that's why the final cost (500) was more than the deal, which was for service only. Additional cost was very reasonable.

The service went well. The job was a little bigger than the deal. I had them install a new receptacle in 1 bathroom. They also installed the wiring for a ceiling fan in a bedroom. Scheduling an appointment with them turned out a little better than I had expected. They gave me an estimate and completed the work in the same day. Mr. Bush and his helper were very professional and efficient. They were also great with the clean up afterwards.

Great service they arrived early and didn't stop until the job was done. This was the hardest working team I've seen in a very long time. They were great. I would highly recommend their service.
Description of Work: I purchased one of the big deals from the list - $345 - an electrician for a day. Mr. Bush brought a helper which made the deal two people for 4 hours (2 x 4 = 8 hours total). They installed one ceiling fan and two overhead lights in bedrooms (non of the bedroom had overhead lighting so all wiring and switches had to be installed) They wired the whole house for cable (didn't have in the house we bought) added electrical outlet above fireplace for mounted TV. Moved light fixture in the eat in kitchen area to be centered in the room, the folks that did the flip on the house did not put the fixture in the right location.

Mr. Bush and Randy were on time and cordial, as well as professional. They quickly understood the problems and worked diligently to fix them. They handled the small unexpected issues that happen with a house built in the mid-1950s and no longer has anything level or plumb. I also consulted Mr. Bush about installing a ground wire for the house and future small jobs of replacing/updating fixtures. Mr. Bush was easy to work with, answered all of my questions and was honest about what was needed and what was not, in the event that I sell my house. I got these gentlemen with an Angie's Big Deal and recommend that method to anyone looking to hire someone for the first time. I would definitely use Mr. Bush's services again, and plan to!

I purchased a Big Deal through Angie's List and every part of the process went seamlessly. I was contacted with 24 hours with a day scheduled for service the following week (one of the choices I sent him). Andrew had me email my phone number and the work I needed done. They showed up on time, got right to work, and did everything on my list with 20 minutes to spare. The problem with the attic light took some investigating but they figured it out and now I can turn my attic light on and off without turning off my tv and kitchen lights! He and his assistant were very polite, business like and knowledgable. I would use their services again in the future, and highly recommend them.

We have an older house, built in the 50's. None of the wiring was grounded. At some point, someone put in an addition and used three prong outlets, and replaced all the outlets in the house with three prong outlets. Except they weren't ACTUALLY grounded. Apparently our home inspector was napping when he inspected our electrical work and passed it. We discovered the problem when we plugged some three prong electronics into the "grounded" outlets and things started to go bad. In the kitchen, the toaster would trip the circuit breaker, not the plug. I knew there was a problem, but not exactly what was the problem or how to fix it. I bought an 8 hour deal from Bush Electric and knew there would be more than 8 hours, but it would be a start. Mr. Bush came out himself with an assistant. He didn't talk down to me even though I am a stay at home mom; once he knew I understood how to read a voltmeter we went around testing the wiring. We determined the priority to be fixed with time available and they went to work. In 13 man hours they had rewired the kitchen outlets with grounded wiring run through the wall from the garage and installed GCFI outlets on the counters. They had to cut holes in the drywall to run the wiring, but the holes were small, they replaced them, and they cleaned up the plaster dust in my kitchen. Also, they rewired the family room (where we keep the computers) with grounded three wire outlets and put in GCFI there too since that room is an addition right on a slab. Finally, they pulled out the (fake) 3 wire outlets in the dining room and put good 2 wire outlets there. I plan on having them back this summer to run a grounding wire into the house and make all the outlets legitimately 3 wire outlets. When they were done, they cleaned up everything and left me feeling a lot safer about my house and my kids.

My experience wasw great. I paid for $99 for 2 hours of an electrician's time - One of Angies Deals. Don called that same day to schedule a time so he could stop buy and perform the work. Don was on time, got to work right away and fixed the problem in 1/2 hour. While I didn't need the full 2 hours of his time, the $99 was well worth the investiment. Great Guy & Great Service!

Andrew Bush and Ryan arrived on time and were professional and polite for the entirety of the visit. I had them move an electrical switch box in the kitchen and install two additional outlets in my garage. The quality and timeliness of the work performed was excellent and they paid careful attention to detail. Once the job was complete, he made sure I was happy with the work and they cleaned up their work area. I will definitely use Bush's Electric Company for any future electrical work.

I purchased the $99.00 for 2 hrs service Angie Deal to resolve non-working outlets in both bathrooms upstairs and a hallway light issue. I was contacted within 24 hrs to confirm date/time, and asked for details on the job needed. Provided the info and accepted the date available, though I asked to be called if an earlier time became available. Resolved the non-working outlets (found the reset in the garage), so decided I'd have them install a new kitchen light instead. Received a call saying a new time/date had become available, so was very pleased he remembered my request, and accepted the earlier slot. Andrew (owner) called the day of to let me know they were running behind; understand that it's hard to judge how long a job will take as there are always variables, so had no problem with that. Andrew and his assistant Ryan showed up, introduced themselves, and were attentive as I explained the bathroom outlet issue had been resolved, and that as of the day before, I seemed to no longer have a hallway light issue. Since I had them there, however, could they put up the kitchen light I had purchased, and look at a top outlet in my master bedroom that didn't work. The master bedroom outlet was user-ignorance, though they both were very nice as they explained to me that it was "out" because it was controlled by a third switch that we never had paid any attention to. Then Andrew went on to examine the switches controlling the upstairs hallway light, because he wanted to be sure the problem didn't surface again after he left. Found one switch that made a weird buzzing, so replaced it (had a burnt smell too after removed). Recreated the hallway light problem, but wanted to think on it, so he and Ryan removed the old light fixture and put the new one in. They were very careful to not scratch or mar the light, and even removed any lint or wrapping material before installing. Andrew noted that the old kitchen light was still in good shape, and would make a good garage light. He and Ryan then tackled the upstairs hall issue, and discovered a switch hidden by shelves that was in the "on" position that would affect the lights anytime someone walked by (must have been grandkids that turned it on, we never used it). Once it was in the "off" position, problem solved. We all had a good laugh over how silly that problem turned out to be. I knew we were going over the 2 hrs purchased, but I asked if they had time to install the old kitchen light in the garage, as I thought that was a fine idea and it would resolved the weak lighting we had there. I also told them I knew it would exceed the special, and I was willing to pay the additional time at their normal rates (additional time with all the extras I threw in was $130). They did the job and I was very happy with the results. They were both extremely professional, thorough, and enjoyable to talk with. I will keep them on file and use them for any future electrical work. They made a point to clean up the work area before departing.
