called and made an appointment. A guy came on time and checked my duck work for dryer which was reported blocked and helped me blow it and made it work without additional charge and shared some information about how to prevent it happens again. Then check and cleaned fireplace. for $200. it is fair!

They did a very good job overall. They were supposed to get all the work done in one day, but it took 2. They also missed one day due to illness - which was understandable. The work was too much to do in one day with just one person, so I'm not complaining about it taking 2 - just being thorough. I attributed this to being a busy season and illness. I also had to call them back because my damper wouldn't close. It was the day after thanksgiving and I thought I'd have a problem, but they showed up within 2 - 3 hours. I was surprised with their service. They had to chip away some of the mortar that was jammed in the damper area in order for my damper to close completely. The dryer vent is very nice. I complained about the way it looked while the guy was installing it and he changed it without grumbling. The roof vent looks good and I had a roofing guy over and he said it was a very good job. I would definitely use this company again. They did good work for a fair price.

Very good experience. The person I spoke to on the phone to make an appointment was friendly and knowledgeable. She said that the company would call 24 hours prior to the appointment as a reminder, and they did. My appointment was between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Mike and Aaron arrived at 11 a.m. They spent about 2 hours on site performing a LEVEL 2 chimney inspection and crown seal. Mike used the camera scan (like a bore scope) to show me the inside of my chimney. He was very knowledgeableand happy to answer all my questions. Mike and Aaron did a great job cleaning up.

John and Aaron from Black Goose Chimney Sweep arrived right on time and were pleasant and professional. They brought all equipment they needed and covered the area around the woodstove with a tarp while they were working. A little debris ended up on the tarp, which they folded up and took with them. There was no debris any where else. In fact, they left the area cleaner than they found it since there were still some ashes in the woodstove! I have used this company previously for chimney cleanings and have had similar results each time.

Received a call the day before service to ensure timing was accurate. Beau and John arrived promptly as scheduled, did their work, cleaned any debris and were gone in a flash. In addition, Beau provided an estimate for impending repair work that can wait until next season. I will definitely call them after next burning season.

I scheduled an inspection on June 21st between 12-2. Dock and John showed up right on time at 1230 after calling me to make sure I was home. They performed a level 1 inspection which included the fireplace/flue/pipe/and cap for $119. They told me that the inside of the chimney looked good and (after showing me pictures) that only the cap needed to be replaced. I was quoted $995 for a custom made stainless steel cap and installation. They also told me that if I scheduled the work through them that they would apply a 10% military discount AND apply the inspection cost ($119) to the work...so I scheduled for the 28th between 8-10 a.m. On the 28th, Mike B. came out, tore off the old cap, then brought it down to show me how rusty it was and where it had just about started to pit. He took pictures of the top of the chimney without the cap and let me know (showed me) that all looked good and that the new cap would last for quite a long time. He carefully and professionally completed the work in about 1 1/2 hours and cleaned up the area like he was never there. Overall...very professional, friendly, and prompt. We would definitely do business with these folks again, they are a "Step" above the other company we had come out.

Repair was called for due to Home Inspection Report on home I had listed. Checked Anigie's List for recommendations. Called for an estimate and to schedule appointment. Jim was professional and courteous and was able to give me an estimate over the phone based on description from inspection report. Work was perfromed the next day. Technician (Mike) called an hour ahead of time as requested so I could meet him at this vacant property. Mike was very friendly and explained his work and even the origin of the Company's name. He even took before and after pictures of his work. He took care to spread out a drop cloth and made sure he limited the dust created. Mike also did a good job cleaning up after himself. I had another company clean and inspect my chimney. They found several items that needed repair and their quote seemed excessive. Called BG for quotes on the items needed and they gave it to me over the phone. Lower on several items. Had them come out for repairs and on inspection, they found two missed repairs and one repair that did not need to be done. They were able to do the mortar repair in the firebox and false flue removal the first day. Had to come back for the crown replacement and the pointing on the bricks above the roof. Had to reschedule 3 times due to inclement weather, but they were able to finish the job two weeks later. All techs were very professional and very friendly. Ultimately with the added work, my final bill was still $500 cheaper than the other company and the techs were much more professional.

I really like this company. They were scheduled to come out 2 days after a heavy snowstorm. I had anticipated they would call and reschedule, but their call was to let me know how soon their people would be there. Mike and Beau introduced themselves, were extremely nice to my dogs (one of which was abused by a man and still very aggressive with male strangers). They went to work immediately first inspecting the fireplace & chimney, then doing a very thorough cleaning. Once that was done, Mike showed me pictures of damage to the fireplace & chimney that would eventually need repair, but he assured me it didn't need to be done immediately. He wrote up an estimate, breaking the work down into segments that I can afford as well as a work up of the entire repair cost. He also showed me before and after pictures of the chimney cleaning. It was impressive.

I got a couple of quotes and they were higher than the company that I used. I had asked what the going rate was for the work. They were all in the same ballpark. There wasn't anything wrong with them. I could have used them, but I didn't. They gave me a quick quote and response.

Other chimney sweeps don't have the degree of professionalism that Black Goose does. They have specialized equipment that allows them to video the inside of the chimney flue. They are prompt & professional and invest a lot of time in professional education and it really shows! It was very reassuring knowing that a company takes the time to be thorough.

When the contractor arrived, he did an inspection and discovered that the vent was routed underneath my crawlspace and that the air was blowing lint all underneath my house. He suggested rerouting the vent up through my roof so that it would be safer and more easily maintained. I agreed to have Black Goose do the work. I got it done at a fair price, they did a good job and I have the peace of mind that comes with knowing I have done something for my home that makes it safer for me and my family.

Well, it turned out to be a false alarm. My dryer vents were fine and blowing at the correct velocity. Black Goose has state-of-the-art technology that measures all this stuff-it's not just "eye-balled." They crawled up in the attic and under the house in the crawlspace (which isn't a fun job). They were very thorough, spending about two hours on the inspection. I was very impressed with the quality of the two young men who conducted the inspection. And it then allowed me to sleep peacefully at night knowing that I didn't have a fire hazard in my attic!!

Excellent. Jim's company has been cleaning my chimney for years but in 2006 he completed one of my dreams, that was to remove the ugly insert and build a beautiful, large fireplace. The finished project was incredible. I even had him extend the height of the chimney and install a copper cap. Now my home has character and charm. There is no more trusted company for chimney work than Black Goose Chimney.

They did a great job. They came out, explained everything that needed done. Repaired a few cracks. One service, everything included.

These guys claim to be the best, and charge like it. They sent two inexperienced young workers to my house who left parts of the brickwork unrepaired, saying that they couldn't reach it. No one experience ever came to inspect their work.

They were excellent and we were very impressed with the job they did on our chimney sweep. They were very careful to protect and cover our things from the soot of the chimney. They didn t leave any mess at all. They were very timely and they set an appointment for us the day after the initial call and showed up at the time they set.

I was very satisfied with the job they did sweeping my chimney. They did a very adequate job. I had no complaints with the job that they did. The service person was very professional and did what was expected of him. He did a nice job of cleaning up after himself as there was no soot anywhere.

I didn t have any real complaints when it came to getting the chimney cleaned and not making a big mess of it. What I did get tired of and the reason I don t use them now is they were always trying to push for the extra services. Our chimney needed everything under the sun done to it according to them, and instead of spending the time on cleaning it, they were selling all the other services instead.

We usually have this work done once a year or so, and have been using this company for quite a few years. They always protect our belongings and do a good job. They call and remind us when it's time for a service call.

We have been calling them for over fifteen years and they have always done an excellent job for us. We do this maybe every other year, and they still remember our names. The cleaners are well behaved, and usually have the job completed in two hours. The job is extremely thorough and they also make sure it does not need repair. If it does, they will fix it, usually for very little cost.
