BERT'S AIR CONDITIONING & HTG

Description of Work: Bert's misdiagnosed a problem with my HVAC that could have been fatal to me and my wife. During the Fall semiannual checkup, as part of an annual maintenance agreement, they determined that the AC's condensor coil needed to be replaced, and they provided a bid.. We had another HVAC company come to give us another bid. The second company showed us where some previous electrical damage that could have allowed Carbon Monoxide to enter our ventilation system had been covered up with tape. It also meant that the real prognosis to the problem was replacement of the entire HVAC system, not just the condensor coil. We had the second HVAC company install a complete new gas pack unit. I then asked Bert's for a refund of the maintenance fee for the 6 months remaining on the contract. They have never responded to phone calls or e-mails on this matter. And they do NOT have an office address where a dissatisfied customer can confront a company representative in-person. Apparently, once they have a customer's money, there's no way (short of going to Court!) for the customer to get it back! I highly recommend AGAINST anyone employing Bert's HVAC. Also suggest everyone ensure any company they intend to utilize for any repair / maintenance have an office address, not just a P.O. Box.
