Poor, never got response on multiple calls and emails for a finished receipt. Receipt was supposed to be sent to me electronically, never came. Plus, I got multiple phone calls and bills from AHS Home warranty about their $75 deductible, that was included in the check I wrote to AP Plumbing. Not sure if this is an AHS issue, or if it was AP Plumbing.

What a terrible experience. This was the provider referred by the home warranty. They came by and made some repairs to toillets. They then provived a list of items needed to replace faucets. My wife got the items and scheduled the 2nd appointement. They called and said they would be by in 15 minutes the date of the appointment. They never showed up and never contacted us with an explanation. We waited several hours and then had the work finished by somebody else.

The plumber himself called me around lunch time and I asked him if he could come to my appointment as late as possible so I could work. He agreed and said that he could make my call the last appointment of the day. Well about an hour later, about 1:15, he calls me and says he is ready to come to me. I asked him about how long it would take him to arrive so I would know when to leave my office since I work about 10-15 mins away from my job. He said about 20-25 mins. About 10 mins later I leave work and shortly after leaving he calls back and says he noticed that I lived in Newport News and he was in Virginia Beach and that it would take him a lot longer to get to me. So I asked him well how long, he says about an hour. I go home and await his call because I asked him to let me know when he crossed the HRBT. About an hour and a half later I called him and asked him where was he. He says he will be there in about 20 mins. 35 mins later he shows up, it is now 4:00. He comes in and looks as my water heater and proceeds to tell me that because of the brand, my water heater won't be covered under my warranty because Whirlpool is just "not a good brand, its crappy". I express my not understanding as that is what a home warranty is for to cover repairs/replacements reguardless of the brand. He then tells me not to get upset he will take care of me, he was just letting me know. He ends ups deciding that the water heater needs to be replaced but that I will likely have to pay an extra $238 on top of my service call fee of $75 for "upgrading my pipes". He says he has to call the warranty company, he steps out and comes back in 5 mins and says he is in the que and the wait is 40 mins. He leaves saying he will call me once he speaks to them. I never get a call. The next morning I called him and asked what the status was and he says "Oh no one has called you to set up your appointment yet? Well they will and the warranty will not cover the upgrade to the pipes". Mind you my father has already explained to me that the "upgrade" is a matter of putting a $3 piece you can buy at Lowes on my pipe. My father and I call the main office and after a few hours of attempts get someone to answer the phone. He was very "pleasant" answering with Yes Ma'am's and Yes Sir's but very short. He just kept saying to my father when he would ask why they were charging so much to do 5 mins and $3 worth of work, to have a plumber do that work that is what we charge. Mind you I have all this covered thru the home warranty, so on top of the $75 service fee, the money the warranty company is paying them, I have to pay $60 for disposal ( I can deal with that) and $178 for "upgrading/modifying my pipes". I did call another plumbing company and he confirmed that they were double dipping in charges for labor as that is included in the labor fee the warranty is giving them . All in all the fact that they hadn't done any work for me and was trying to collect more money than what they should and were just very condesending on the phone has led me to not want them to do any work for me at all. I ended up getting a cash out thru my home warranty company and will be purchasing a water heater from Lowe's!

We recently purchased a home and with it came a home warranty. Of course with our luck the hot water heater has a electrical fire at the pump the day after we close(Wed). TG we had the warranty!. Anyway we called it in and they told us someone would contact us within the hour. 2 hours go by and I decided to call them. They acknowledge the work order and schedule us for the next available day(Fri). I was at work so my wife let them in. They made the assessment that the heater had to be replaced and and that they would call us to schedule a date once he confirmed he had the heater .They never called. After of what seemed like a hour trying to convince them that hot water is important and it couln't wait until Thur I scheduled an appointment 8-12pm for two days later(Mon). Of course Monday 12:30pm comes around and the plumber calls to say he's running late. He shows up 1:30pm or so looks at the heater and says he doesn't have all the parts. He had to borrow my hose, and some tools, worked for a minute then took off to the hardware store to get the rest of what he needed to complete the job @ 5:30pm. They never once called us back during the whole ordeal. We left messages, that they never returned. It was like pulling teeth trying to schedule the appt. Their phone would go straight to voice mail sometimes. They just did not seem like an organized company. I would not do business with them again.

When making the appointment I was instruted to prep the hot tub for serivce. When the plubmer showed up they indicated they needed everything together and the tub filled to the top for them to check the system. So we rescheduled. The 2nd day I took off to wait for the plumber I received a call toward the end of the window that the plumber was hurt and they could not find a replacement. It would have been nice to get a call earlier in the day though... The 3rd time they sent a person who would not take off the side of the hot tub to review a leak. I blame some of this on the warrenty company, but this company should have raised its hand if they couldnt do the job.

Company was sent to us from the home warranty program. A P Plumbing contacted us within the required first 24 hours to set up the initial appointment, which at that apointment I thought that they would fix the shower then. The tech stated that they would need to replace the entire shower set up and that would require the wall being removed and then a rough patch to replace it and that the company would be contacting the warranty company to verify my coverage and would be in contact with me shortly after that. This was all on 3/26. Over a week goes by and I still had not heard from the company again so I had to contact them. Asked them why no one had called me and if they planned on coming back out to complete the work especially since we had family in town we needed it fixed as soon as possible. A P stated that they had received everything for my work order but did not know why they had not contacted me, so they set up an appointment for 4/4 between 8-12. I am in the military so I had requested to take an entire day of leave since I did not know how long it was going to take them to complete this task. At 730 that morning, they called and said that they had a full schedule and would not be able to make it out to my house between the time slot given, and to compensate me they would give me the static vent for free (which I requested vice the rough patch on th wall, that we would pay for not the warranty company). I agreed and they would be there between 12-4. I stayed home all day waiting for the company to come and no one showed up. At 415, a tech called and asked if we could reschedule AFTER they should have already been there. My husband told him that we took the entire day off for them to come complete the work and that they still needed to come. They agreed and said that they would be there in 3 hours and would call once they got close. No one called and no one showed up. I called the company back Friday morning to ask what happened and they gave me an excuse, but said that they would send someone out Saturday and for me to pick the time that their day is completely open and reserved for emergencies only. I picked 9am and that someone was to call me when they were on their way. Again, no one showed up. I called the office multiple times Saturday morning and no one answered. I was not going to stay at home all day again for no one to show up, especially with family in town. FINALLY, WITH NO PHONE CALL, someone showed up at 3pm to fix the shower and left at 430; luckily we had just got home. The tech that came the second time was a different one that the first time and was 100 TIMES more professional and knowledgable about what he was doing than the first.

I would never use this company again for the lack of professionalism.
Description of Work: I have a home warranty and they sent out AP Plumbing to fix a leak in our 2nd bathroom sink. The plumber was on time, but I have never been treated so poorly by anyone before. He was extremely disrespectful and rude to me. He refused to fix the problem and when I asked him to call the home warranty company he said he would, but he wouldn't be able to talk to them in front of me. He ended up not fixing the problem because he wanted to charge me in addition to the service contract through the warranty company.

It went extremely well. Two and a half months later, my water line is still fixed and my water is running as good as usual. The owner actually was one of the men who performed the repair, and I found him to be very open, courteous, helpful, and considerate. He assured me that if I encountered any problems, he would promptly respond. I was very satisfied with their work :) Contacting them can be somewhat of a challenge, but the do what they say they'll do!!! I highly recommend them ; Thank you A P Plumbing!!!
Description of Work: On 23DEC12, water was running out of my driveway (under cement) water main; I contacted the city and was informed by the Virginia Beach Utilities Company (Water), that my main water line was broken, and it was my responsibility to repair it, so they cut my water off. Although I had main water line repair protection through Dominion Power, I was unable to reach them. I contacted my home warranty company, who originally said that they covered the repair. They contacted AP Plumbing, who came out, diagnosed the problem, and was then informed by my home warranty company that the repair of the main water line was not covered. OK... So... AP Plumbing stated that the cost for they repair was approximatley $2500; did I want them to repair it - DUH yeah!!! I have no water... AGAIN, when I contacted Dominion Power - I was unable to reach them and when I did (as a new customer), I was told that they were closed until 26DEC12. So, I told AP Plumbing to perform the work. AP Plumbing did perform the work and approximately 28 hours later, after my water was cut off, I had water YAY TYJ!!! AP Plumbing came through for me!!! Although I felt the $2500 (approximately - actually $2472) was steep; they resolved the problem!!! They came out on Christmas Eve, drilled through the concrete, replaced the broken pipe, and re-cemented my driveway. They resolved the problem and so far all is good. Although it was hard to contact AP Plumbing (most of the time there was no answer when I called them, it went to voicemail), they did what they said they would do and I was extremely satisfied with their service!!! I highly recommend this company!!!

The entire experience has been completely frustrating. The company is unresponsive to the customer's needs, slow administratively, and completely entangled in misunderstandings and miscommunication between the employees in the organization which causes problems in their services. I would recommend staying away from this company.
Description of Work: I have a home warranty company and had two plumbing problems. AP Plumbing was identified as the company to do the work. They were supposed to call me to set up an appointment, but I finally called them because of the length of time. I left a message and Sarah called me back to set up the appointment between 12 and 4. The technician finally showed up about 5:30 although he did call me to say he would be late. I told them on the phone that the garbage disposal needed to be replaced and the pressure assist tank in the toilet was leaking. They did not bring the parts to fix these things. The technician said he would be back the next morning to finish the work, but I never heard from them the next morning. I finally called and asked to speak to the technician but Sarah was the only person I could get in touch with. She said she was going to call me to schedule the appointment but never did. Days passed and I called her again. She said my name was on the list to call and she set up an appointment to replace the garbage disposal but only after I called her and it was a week later. She also said the toilet repair was denied by the warranty company based on what she told the warranty company which was not in any way representative of the problem with the toilet. I again asked to speak to the technician as she was unaware of what the problem was. She said the only way to speak to the technician was to schedule an appointment. I asked to speak to the owner but again was denied the opportunity to resolve the problem. This is the second experience with this company. I believe the plumbers actually are able to do their job, but the business practices and the professionalism is completely lacking.

I have a home warranty and was told I had to use A P Plumbing. The documentation that I received from the home warranty people said I should receive a call from A P Plumbing within 24 hours. I waited and when I did not receive a call from them, I called A P Plumbing on Tuesday and had to leave a message. I received a call back from Sara a couple hours later. We scheduled an appointment for someone to come out and take a look at our toilet in our spare bathroom that was draining very slowly and making an atrocious noise and to unclog my master bathroom tub for Friday afternoon. The window that was provided was 4 hours, which may be standard but when I asked if they could give me 30 minutes notice Sara informed me that she couldn't guarantee 30 minutes and that it could be as little as a 10 minute notice. Since I work more than 10 minutes away from my house, I had to take half a day off from work. When the plumber got there, he told me that due to the age of our house it was a different kind of drain that would have to be cut out and replaced. This work takes place under the house. When he saw where the crawl space was and the size of it, he informed me that he would not be able to do the work due to time restraints and he would send someone with a smaller stature out to do the work. The plumber said that Sara would call me and set something up for the following Monday. I have called several times starting at 7:40 am on Monday morning and left 3 messages. I have also emailed her to try to get a response that way. I have heard nothing. I then called the plumber who came to my house and he said he couldn't do anything about it. My house is on the market so having a tub that doesn't work is not a feature that anyone wants. I would have called a different plumber from the beginning because of the slow response but am forced to use this company due to the home warranty. I would never request this company to anyone.

I was very impressed with the knowledge and professionalisn of the plumber that arrived at my door. He did not mind educating and explaining in detail what was causing the leak. This plumber was the contractor of choice for my home warranty company but now, I am so impressed with the copany's services that I will be using them myself. I have also been recommending the company to my family and friends. Great service and a definitely satisfied, loyal customer!
Description of Work: We had a leak. Water was leaking from the ceiling and our immediate thought was the second floor bathroom pipes are leaking. The plumber arrived promptly. He was actually early and had to wait at the front door for us to come home and let him in. The appointment itself did not take more than half an hour. We were relieved to find out that the pipes were fine and the leak was a pretty easy fix. We have not had problems ever since.
