Asked many times to make sure yard was properly graded and weeds removed. Was told he did it. it goes without saying within a week of the sod going down, there were weeds in all the spaces between sod. Some areas were not sodded at all -- just the weeds were left to fill in where it have been a pain to cut sod to fit. Equipment broke a drain in the driveway. and an antique metal flower pot. Took 6 months to get him to replace the drain. Flower pot was irreplaceable and frankly was no where near the route of the equipment.. Phone calls went unanswered. He claimed he was in an area with no cell service, but certainly the messages left could be retrieved once he DID get into an area with service. I would be told people would show up on a certain day. I'd drive 2 hours to be at the house to oversee, and they'd not show up at all. He'd eventually send people over to fix something, they'd come without notice and leave before I could even check their work. My sodded lawn was almost all bermuda grass within 2 years despite using a lawn maintenance/ weed and feed service. In our opinion, the property was not prepped properly to begin with. Awful. Don't use this company
Description of Work: entire yard was to be sodded; almost an acre.

Response from WDR Land Designs
We never received any type of contact from customer after job was finished about anything not being done or weeds. As in any job there is a one year warranty on the work............why is there a complaint more than 5 years later on "Sod" work?

My last experience was fine. I used WDR Land Designs. It was a big project. I dislike the time it took than the estimate that I was given, it was quite a bit longer than anticipated. For the most part, my interaction with them was pretty good, there was some unresponsiveness towards the end of the project but ultimately they got it done. The work that they did turned out great, love it. They could have had more timeliness to get an 'A' instead. What was promised in 60 days actually took about 4 months.
Description of Work: They put up an outdoor kitchen, curler, patio and landscape planting.

Very bad from the start. First of all they arrived on a unscheduled day midmorning. We were told the job would be done by 5 pm that day. They dropped off some of the supplies dug up the old walkway and then left ONE worker to prep the area. He sat around till 430 pm waiting for the rest of the supplies in order to finish prepping the ground. He made numerous calls to his boss but his calls were not answered. We called The salesperson and we were told there was a hold up at the gravel yard. No phones to let us know!!!! The rest of the crew came around 430 and said they would return the next day. We were beyond upset. We had already had to cancel a dinner engagement with a veterans group and had plans to leave the next day for Baltimore to meet friends. I was soooo upset I was in tears. So they stayed to compete the job and left around 8 pm. The crew boss was aware of our dinner plans and our trip the next day and PROMISED us from the beginning the job would be done. We felt like they had other jobs that day and figured they could "squeeze" us in. We complained about the workmanship from the vey beginning to William and he also promised he would make it right. To this day, after numerous phone calls and emails the job is still not as promised. We spoke with Mr. Ridgewel and he promised he would not forget us and told my husband that they would be here . Needless to say they weren't . We understand that weather has a lot to do with the work, but don't tell us that since April there hasn't been one day that they could have come to fix the problem. Now the problem started with the salesperson. We were promised that the surface would be flat without any ridges between the pavers. We told him we had concerns about uneven surfaces and tripping on the ridges and falling. THREE times I asked the salesperson if the surface would be smooth like the top of the steps and he said yes. If this was not possible then we would have picked a different paver. All they have to do is re sand the walkway to fill in the ridges and pack it down. This was an expensive job and we are VERY disappointed in their workmanship, their lack of professionalism, no respect for their clients, and very poor business ethics. All it takes is a response from them. If they choose not to be honorable in their promises then just say so. Now we will have an added expense to make our walkway save. They have caused us a lot of stress and upset and I am sure my BP is elevated just by writing this note. We are so very sorry we didn't go with a competitor. I am so sorry that we did not get these promises in writing. I must say the pavers are nice but have nothing good to say about the workmanship or company. We honored our part of the contract , how about you ,Mr Ridgwell?

The work was not done to industry standards, site not cleaned up, never knew when to expect them, did not return to correct problems identified when job was finished after repeated attempts to contact owner. Had to take out all work and have another contractor redo the ramp and retaining walls.

We installed a hardscape project for [member name removed] per her request, we had suggested putting steps in to get down her hill. She insisted in having a path installed so that she could pull her cart up and down the hill. This project has been completed for 2 years and the only responce from her in reguards to the project was that one paver was sticking up at the edge of the driveway to which we reset back level with the drive. She had requested a quote on a hand rail to which she said was to expensive at the time. Not once did she call, email, text or paper mail anything about her paver path or retaining walls failing until after she had everything pulled up and done totally different from what was originally done and then expects us to refund her what she had paid us because she was out of money and wanted this other company to be able to install more pavers. We have always stood behind our work and have never had an issue with pavers or retaining walls failing. We have been given this poor review, because we were unwilling to refund her the money she had paid us for the work that we had done for her 2 years ago.

From the start he did come on time and gave me a proposal. He did what we agreed to and it went well. Its after the first 6 months and the plants died, they were guaranteed to a year. They were taken very good care of and went by the directions for feeding etc. I spent $1500 towards this first part of the landscaping and was going to spend more the next year, but when I started calling him about the problem, thats where it went wrong. He never followed up and did not ever come back to replace the plants,so I have called and emailed etc..still no followup. Its now been over 6 months and will give to end of March to hear from him,if not will follow up with attorney..very frustrated..,then he finally did respond and fixed the problems. He also did extra at no-charge to make up for the problems we shared. He trie very hard to make sure I was happy in the end.
Description of Work: At first was frustrated and then he did get back with me and do what he promised

They did a really excellent job. We're still getting lots of compliments and they're very good at what they do. The price was a little expensive, but we got a lot of work done. Relatively, it was probably okay. As far as quality goes, there is some stuff that had to be reworked, but it was good. Everyone was amazed at how punctual they were too. They were definitely professional.
