Three workers arrived at 8am on the day of the job. They worked CONTINUOUSLY until after 7pm. I took before and after pictures, which I may share (on request), but cannot presently post here as they are stored on another computer. They towed in a steel tracked Excavator ("bucket and claw") on a flatbed truck, brought chain saws, a trailer and a "dump truck" One of them, Isaac Bowman, operated the excavator. His skills in doing that WERE LITERALLY AMAZING. One of them, Daniel Bowman, planned the course of action so as to avoid leaving excavator tracks on my lawn as much as possible and used a chain saw to strip the limbs and branches from each fallen tree. Another, Titus Bowman, guided the excavator to the fallen trees, gathered debris, and he and Daniel operated 16 Ton "DUMP TRUCK" that carried off the fallen debris. They made 6 trips, estimated 8 Tons per trip, and on the last trip ALSO towed away a trailer with more than a dozen 12 foot trunks of 14 to 20 inch diameter, mostly oak, some pine and locust. The upturned root balls from four of these fallen trees were more than 10 feet wide and 6 feet tall. No signs remained when the job was done. IN FACT, while the locations of the fallen trees were identifiable, that was only possible from the raw earth filling the holes where their root balls had been removed, shaken clean of top soil, and carried off. When the job was done, there were unavoidable scars on my land where the trees had uprooted, BUT ONLY very minimal signs of the use of the Excavator, and NO DAMAGE from its metal track to my gravel drive or my lawn. All the torn up holes were filled with dirt, tamped down. ALL OF THE DEBRIS was removed. This work deserves a FIVE STAR RATING.
Description of Work: After high winds in mid June 2013 downed TWELVE FIFTY FOOT TALL TREES on my several acre mountain top property, I obtained estimates from several "TREE REMOVAL" companies and one "EXCAVATING" company. None was willing to offer an estimate for completing all the necessary clean-up, nor would they guarantee no added damage to my lawn and property from use of their heavy equipment. A friend recommended DAB Enterprises. They came up with a plan to use their "bucket and claw" tracked excavator for the clean up, promised a complete job with NO residual damage to my property, and gave me a firm quote for the whole job. I accepted it.
