Description of Work: A nice man came out to my house in April to discuss taking down the trees. He provided some verbal estimates but nothing in writing. He said he would provide a written estimate when I decided if I wanted the work done. I called May 14 to schedule the tree removal, and left a message without a return phone call. I called again May 15 and spoke with a woman who said that they couldn't schedule me until July sometime b/c this offer was so popular and they don't have enough help, being only a one-team company. I told her I didn't want to wait that long as we may be putting the house on the market. She said she would talk to her husband and call me back. No return call received.

Description of Work: The deal was for 3 workmen for 8 hours and I actually got more. The contractor and I discussed what could be done in the time available and his guys got it done. They expertly removed one large tree that could have caused damage and a number of other trees that needed to come down. They worked during a light rain that fell most of the day. They put the debris where I wanted it and removed material that I didn't want. This was a really really good deal.

Description of Work: Pruned 5 trees, one a 75' willow oak. Removed 3 trees and ground stumps. Chipped all removed limbs plus a truck load of limbs I had already piled up. All work was done professionally and expediciously. The five man crew checked with me several times while working to make sure they were doing the work satisfactorily.

Description of Work: I bought an advertised "half-price special" on Angie's List for a day of tree crew work. I'm not sure it was really HALF price--I got pretty much what I would have got if I had paid my regular tree guy to do the work. But it was a FAIR price, and the crew showed up on time, did a good job, etc. I would use them again.

Description of Work: VA Contracting proved to be an outstanding company to work with. The service was excellent. The crew was polite, friendly and professional. They trimmed up many trees, removed yard waste, and cleaned up everywhere.

Description of Work: I was contacted to schedule an appointment for somone to come out and identify the work I needed to get done. I was given a approximate time when the work would be completed. A team showed up as promised. Everyone was very professional and courteous.

Description of Work: I initially signed up for the $199 deal for $400 worth of work. I had one very tall pine which was close to the house and needed to come down. I was contacted very quickly and David came out to do an estimate. He told me that they could take the tree down for the agreed price. I asked for a quote on another 13 trees and he estimated an additional $1100 "as the equipment and personnel would already be out on the job." My first reaction was that it was very expensive and I told him so. He explained what type of equipment and how many people would be required. I reluctantly agreed to the price. Once he arrived on the job, I realized just how professional an operation VA Contracting was: the equipment was top knotch and the workmen were extremely skilled. They did not stop working for a minute and the expertise they demonstrated in scaling the trees and putting branches down exactly where they wanted was pretty amazing. I ended up having a few more trees removed and some stumps ground which had been left by a previous tree removal service. They checked in a few times to make sure I was happy with what they were doing and left the grounds spotless. I could not have asked for a better job.

Description of Work: Cut down 2 trees (1 huge pine tree and 1 maple tree). Arrived on time and job was completed within 2 hours. David (owner) and his crew were very friendly and efficient. I will definitely hire them for future tree projects.

Description of Work: The team took down one very large tree looming over the house and 3 other trees that were very close. They also took down dozens of other small trees to thin a strip of woods in part of our back yard. They chipped all the downed trees, branches, shrubs and other misc plant material. They left me the good wood at my request and also left the chips for me, placed where I indicated. At the end of the two days, our yard was opened up and neatly cleaned of twigs and debris. The team worked hard, were very polite, and careful of our requests and property. Excellent Company... well worth every dime. Wish I had a bigger budget to keep them here a few more days.
