The service provider showed up promptly to discuss the work and give an estimate to cut down a fairly small dead oak tree and remove all the debris. Since we had had a number of trees taken down over the years, we knew the estimate was high for the service. We were able to secure two estimates that were significantly lower than that given by the service provider, so we called him and cancelled the job. We liked the professionalism of the service provider, but living on a fixed income requires that we get the best price for any job.

David and his crew were prompt, professional and fast. The yard looks great, and I'm looking forward to finally getting some grass growing where that ugly tree used to be. David is very helpful - I learn a lot from him about trees and plants every time we meet.

My girlfriend and I moved into the house a year ago and knew then that we wanted to remove most, if not all of the trees in the yard and redesign the overall landscape. The home is on a quarter of an acre lot and the amount of trees on the lot was causing the lot to look extremely overcrowded. All of the trees were either large pine trees or large sweet gum trees (a nightmare for: clean up, growing grass, trying to prevent damage to the house/vehicles, standing water due to having too much shade, etc.). I wanted to receive estimates from several companies to begin the long term project of redesigning the landscape. I researched tree companies in the Richmond area and had seven different companies come out to my home and provide estimates. All of the companies that provided me with estimates had at least an ?A? rating or equivalent on: Angie?s List, the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and other websites. I originally met with the owner of VA Contracting LLC (David) in the beginning of August to go over some options regarding tree removal. David arrived on time and gave me a list of options based on what my girlfriend and I were trying to accomplish with the yard and his professional expertise. He provided me with a copy of his insurance, a copy of his business license with the Virginia State Corporation Commission, and a detailed written estimate for each option. David advised that I would save money in the long run by having all of the trees removed at once versus having it done in stages. This impressed me as I was in the process of receiving estimates and wanted to have as much information as possible. He advised me that due to the large number of trees in the yard and their close proximity to the fence that they would try their best to not hit the fence, but if they did that they would fix it. This was not a major concern of mine as the fence is very old. I advised David that I would make a decision once I had finished receiving estimates from the other companies. Throughout the entire estimate I felt that David was very professional and was genuinely considerate of what we wanted to achieve long term with the yard. David?s prices were significantly lower than any of the other companies that provided me with estimates and he had excellent reviews from other clients, so I decided to choose him. I called him towards of August to schedule an appointment to meet with him and sign the contract. He came back to my house on time, we worked out the final details of the scope of work and I signed the contract. He advised that he would be able to start early on Monday September 9, 2013 (weather permitting) and would take most of the week to complete. David arrived on Monday September 9, 2013; at the time he said he would to begin the work. He introduced my girlfriend and I to the other three members of his team and advised what how they would begin their work. My home is on a street that can be busy at certain times so they had to contend with traffic at times, which they did an excellent job with. I decided to take the week off while they were there to watch them take down the trees (more for curiosity than anything) and take our dog on walks throughout the day, as she would get anxious inside due to the sounds from the machinery. Being there I was able to see how truly amazing this company is and appreciate the type of work that they are doing. The whole job start to finish was excellent. David and his crew are extremely hard working individuals. Even the times that David had to leave for an estimate or get supplies the team continued to work nonstop. Watching them work you could see that they were very well coordinated and cared for the safety and well being of each other, my property, and my neighbor?s properties. They were very careful around the house. The fence did get hit in a few spots throughout yard, but I knew that was a possibility and they fixed it as he said they would. They did a very nice job fixing the fence (it is actually built better now than it was before) and I went ahead and had them redesign one of the gates to make it wider for bring things in the back yard. Many of my neighbors would stop by and complement on the work that was being done and wanted to get an estimate from David. They went above and beyond my expectations. Per my request, they trimmed more branches from other trees that were not included in the contract for no additional charge. They cleaned up everything and left the mulch from the stumps for me to use in some of the beds. Based on their hard work, overall professionalism, and their price I would highly recommend this company to anyone and I would use them in the future for other projects.

David Munoz of VA Contracting kept the initial appointment for an estimate, showed up on time on the appointed day, listened to my added requests, clearly described how he and his helper would be going about their work, and performed it neatly, efficiently and pleasantly. It was his suggestion to trim a large crepe myrtle so it would no longer rub against the house. The team of two chopped up and removed every bit of debris, leaving only a small, neat mound where the evergreen roots had been, to avoid a depression as the ground settles (it's working). The job entailed removing all roots, which they did with the single exception of the thorn bush, which was sandwiched between a remaining azalea and the house, growing so close to the chimney that their root grinding equipment wouldn't fit in the space. During the entire project (which took well under a day and was, mostly, in a very confined area), only a single branch of my azalea bush was damaged. One of the bushes and the pine tree were nearly on my neighbor's property; Mr. Munoz was very careful not to hurt or disturb their fence or plantings. When finished, he left the bare ground neatly raked and the worksite clean as a whistle. I was very satisfied with my VA Contracting, LLC experience.

It went very well. David was very responsive to my call, came out the next day to look at the house and give me a quote. He said he would get it done some time in the next two weeks and he and his team came out in that time frame and got the work done quickly and with high quality. I was very satisfied with the work.

While I did not use this company, I was satisfied with the prompt response and professionalism of the owner when he gave me the estimate. The only reason I did not use them is that I decided to use a company I had used previously. The estimates were very similar.

Virginia Contracting did an excellent job on our project. The work was performed exactly as we wanted and David and his team of professionals made sure we were completely satisfied before leaving our home. We also appreciated their promptness, professionlism and attention to detail. We would surely recommend Virginia Contracting to others for their future needs. VA Contracting was very timely in responding to my phone call and gave me an estimate in just a few days. Everybody else I called never even responded to me. I used the coupon that was available and it brought the price down a lot. The work was scheduled for the next week, but because my neighbor's car was parked in front of my house, the work had to be rescheduled to the following week. The work was done just as planned and everything was cleaned up very well. I would definitely use VA Contracting again for any tree work I needed.

Easy to deal with. Showed up timely. I have no idea about the price since I didn't get any other estimates. It does seem fair for the amount of cleanup done. The crew is pleasant and worked very hard with few breaks. I was impressed and plan to use the service again.

Dave and his team were punctual and quick. I was surprised that doing the work on a holiday was possible. Since Dave requested that we be there when they trim it was very helpful to not have to take a day off from work. They cleaned up thoroughly and did what they said they would do. Very easy to work with. I would use them again. They also do all sorts of construction projects if that is what you need. Very satisfied

David removed numerous huge trees that had come down river and settled in my backyard. He chopped up these monsters and cleaned the entire backyard of all the miscellaneous debris. He and his crew worked like demons, leaving my backyard seemingly spotless. It was a ninety degree day and painfully humid, but they all kept at it. I would seek their assistance in a "heartbeat" for future tree work and grateing!

VA Contracting was right on time. Seemed knowledgeable and was friendly. The estimate was reasonable. I obtained estimates from five companies, and VA contractors was one of two who advised that I wait until late winter/early spring to prune a crepe myrtle. I knew that, and I wondered who else would. I never thought this company was out to just take my money. I got good advice, and he actually left me with a copy of his insurance licence. Very impressed. Not hesitant at all to use him.

We had a wonderful experience with VA Contracting!. They were working first thing in the morning and didn't stop till the sun went down. The whole crew was friendly and respectful. Very professional! In the future we will be calling them again for any tree needs. We couldn't be happier!

I want to say that, Given the fact that this was handled so Quickly in the middle of a storm, and then the rest of the repairs were completed the day after I authorized them, This is not just a company its a team.
