Terminix - Midlothian -Termite & Pest Control

The appointment was scheduled between 10am and noon on September 23, 2020. They did not show up or call and when I called, I was placed on hold for over 15 minutes each time. Called and spoke to Frank, who is completely rude, talked over me the entire time and then tried to transfer my call again after I told him he kept placing me on hold. This company is totally unprofessional. I took time off of work to meet the person and they didn't even have the courtesy to call.

I have a Terminix contract, and about a year after treating the house with baits and liquid, I had a swarm come from the house! I was told that a treatment would be done the following Monday, but no one came. I was then rescheduled for about two weeks later and it was another no show. Today was the third scheduled treatment date and another no show. So far I have gotten no benefit from paying them for service. The company does nothing more on the phone other than apologize and reschedule, then repeat!

The treatment for insects was fine. The crawl space door process was the worst customer service I've ever received! Would NEVER recommend this company!

I found them to be expensive and not particularly cheap. They came out one time to do some stuff then they kept coming out every six months even though I did not want them to. They were charging me money every time. I just thought they were expensive. They were professional; it is just that they are such a big company they are getting complacent. I think they were about $90 each time. The issue was I thought they were overpriced and I don't think they had a really good interpersonal relationship with us. They were on time when they decided to come.

We are under a contract with them. I think they are on time. They call in advance to remind you that they are coming. They inquire about anything additional that we are seeing or that we have noticed so they can address that while they are there. They just come and do whatever and they do not oversell you on products you do not really need. We just keep having problems with ants. The same thing we have them out treating for us and we still have them. Maybe that is why it does not always work. From my perspective, it is probably reasonably priced. They are very thorough. We have the same gentleman who comes all the time and I think he is very professional. They are very responsive.

TLDR - NEVER use Terminix because their scheduling system makes it nearly impossible to get an appointment if you need a follow up treatment. Terminix scheduled an initial inspection of the house promptly and determined there were bugs and provided an estimate for the cost of extermination. I signed the contract electronically and was able to schedule the extermination online. Up to this point everything seemed to be great. The first problem was when I got a call from the person who would be doing the extermination and he wanted to schedule the appointment; I told him I had already scheduled it online when I signed the contract and he said he would see if he could make that work. He called back and said it would work, but I needed to put a credit card on the account. The day of the extermination he insisted that the renter give him a check as payment even though I had already given a credit card and my name was on the contract (I was not present at the time). Two days later the renter informed me that they had found more bugs. My contract provides additional exterminations up to 90 days so I called to schedule a follow up. This is where the real problems started. All of the numbers for Terminix go to a call center when you call, but the call center does not have the ability to schedule an appointment. They always just tell you someone will call you back in a couple of days. I waited a couple of days and didn't get a call so I continued to call back. Eventually they just told me I had an appointment on Tuesday at 1. I work and did not schedule this time, but to make it work I said they could call me when they were on the way and I would meet them at the house. They did not call me and just left a sticky note on the door saying they were there. I attempted to reschedule again going through the same routine. Again they scheduled an appointment without telling me and I just found out by calling Monday morning and being told I had an appointment for now. Luckily my renter was home this time. In summary do not use Terminix because their scheduling system is terrible and it is impossible to speak to someone that can schedule an appointment.

We use Terminix for pest control. They came out and did an inspection about two weeks ago. We're on a plan with them that was a part of the deal. They were particular in the beginning.

Their service was okay. I have to call them back, though, because the ants are back. They come out quarterly and I get billed quarterly. Then if I call them out again any other time there is no charge. When they come out on the quarterly calls they spray all around the foundation and they check for any other kind of insects that might be a problem around the foundation. The people are very nice, that's probably the best thing. The worst thing is the cost. I have had to call them because they have doubled their termite inspection cost. I have had to call them for the last couple of years to get them to knock it down -- and they do.

There usually fairly good. We've had them for years and they have been sufficient. I don't have any complaints against them. It's a bi monthly charge. They're dependable and come when they say they will come. If you have any additional problems looked at they always take care of them. The only thing I'm concerned about is when we originally had a contractor for doing our bugs, it was a small independent company, which Terminix lost, and the independent company used chrysanthemum juice which was totally natural. However when Terminix blocked them we automatically became there customer. We did not shop around. I can't say on all the safety of all there products. I have a small dog so I have to be careful after they spray around the foundation.

They've been fine. One thing about them, and the reason I gave them a B is, when I first got them, they were much more meticulous about doing things like taking cobwebs down, and they have stopped being quite so meticulous.

They just inspected our house this morning. They have been inspecting our house for the most of the last 30 years because we have a contract with them. It's fine.

It was okay. We have had a contract with them for many years now.

They were okay. They showed up when they said they're going to. They did a good job. They showed up in suits. I've used them for 15 years.

They were reliable. They showed up every year and they were there when they were supposed to. Our experience with them was fine. It was good service. There wasn't anything that I disliked. What I liked is that they were reliable and punctual.

I have and have had a yearly contract with Terminix for many years after they found and corrected a severe termite infestation under my front steps and in my crawl space. They worked very diligently and effectively in destroying the nests and repairing the damage. They are prompt in responding to a summons to schedule a requested inspection and also schedule a yearly inspection of the entire premises. I would highly recommend Terminix.

First called Terminix because we moved into a house that hadn't been lived in for six or more years so it had a few spiders and a ton of ants. So I wanted to get the ants treated because if a crumb was left out they would be everywhere within minutes. So I looked up Terminix online to which they had a "Pest Control Plan" listed for $114.00 a quarter. It would not let me complete the purchase online so I called the number. When I called and asked about that same particular service Iwas told it was $220.00 for the first visit and $130.00 for the other three. I then asked about the $114.00 price, and they told me it was online customers. But yet it wouldn't like me complete the process without talking to someone on the phone? Not to mention it was supposed to bee a May special of 10% off the $114 price. They said they would honor the online price once I threatened to hangup and try that again. So we scheduled a TREATMENT of the problem for the weekend after I called, and them time window was from 8-12!!!! So my husband and I sat around all morning. Finally a man showed up in his own personal vehicle and we weren't even sure if he was really with Terminix. He said he was here to inspect for termites. Why we didn't ask for any termite treatment for inspection? He finished the inspection and didn't treat anything, he gave us a quote of $2800 dollars to fix termite and beetle damage in the basement, we decided to get some more quotes and take his advice as weren't aware of any termite problems. But that still didn't take care of our ants. So we sat around until 12 or a little after and finally I called. The lady that answered said that someone should be out within an hour and that she'd tried to call the technician and no one answered. We sat around the rest of the day and no one showed. We weren't happy and weren't even sure if we wanted to used them at this point. So we complained again later that evening and the lady told us a manager would contact us on Monday. We finally received a call on Wednesday from the technician not the manager saying he was never scheduled to come that weekend. My husband said he wanted to speak to a manager and finally one did call. He said he was sorry and would offer us $25 off the price and then said the price was still the $220 and $130 not the $114. We thought we had gotten everything straight and they finally came the following Friday to treat the ants. It took about 3 days like the guy said for them to go away and we haven't really seen any bugs since. The actually work was very thorough and I am happy with it. But today when i logged on to my bank account I see that i was still charged the $220. This made me very unhappy because we confirmed with three different people that we'd only be charged the $114 and it's like they didn't really listen or do their job. Not to mention it took them almost two weeks to finally make it out to treat our any problem. It just seems to me they don't really listen to customers and do their job correctly in the offices. I'm going to called to get my refund and if it doesn't happen I'll be moving on to use someone else.

They keep coming out even after we cancelled the contract, and they keep billing us. Their work isn't very good, and they made a mess of our patio.

I was happy with the service from Terminix, the organization is like some places are franchised while others are part of a corporate and the two just don't talk to each other. I had a contract for a long time with a franchise owner so they couldn't work it out to give me a multi house discount since the other house was in a location where there was a national company. The two systems just wouldn't talk to each other and I thought that was ridiculous normally they would give a multi house discount and change the contract. I am happy with the work that they do it is just the contract. They showed up when they said they would.

The service provider was very prompt and professional. I can access my account online and request additional service online as well.

They are very helpful and informative. We have had an excellent experience with them so far.

Terminix arrived at my property promptly in the morning on June 2, 2102 and began work almost immediately. At the completion of the work I was dismayed by the sloppy craftsmanship in regards to the placement of the installation. It looked like the insulation had been stuffed and crammed in place with a hurried manner. If the plastic backing was to provide an extra barrier against pests, I certainly would not believe this given the fact that spacing between the ends of the insulation revealed the bottom of the sub-flooring. I didn't expect a completely seamless job because I understand the limits of the insulation process, but the sloppy stuffing of the insulation was amateurish at best. The stuffing aspect of the insulation does not provide any additional protection against insects. Even more alarming was the fact I was able to pull out a large chunk of the old pink insulation from under the new insulation. This did not give me much confidence that more of the old insulation was hiding under the new. In addition, the fungus that was to be treated and cleaned looked the same as when they started. This did not give me confidence that an adequate application of the chemical was applied. I was further dismayed that the old vapor barrier was not removed. The new vapor barrier was simply placed over the old. I talked with the job-lead about my observations and he seemed puzzled. He did offer to remove every single piece of insulation to prove they had not covered up the old insulation. I almost agreed to that proposal but wanted to discuss it more with Terminix. I called Mr. McAdams and voiced some of my concerns. McAdams listened to my concerns but his only response was to dismiss the cleaning of the fungus from the support beams. McAdams asked to talk with the job-lead on the phone. Both of them talked on the phone but nothing seem to come of their conversation and the crew left for the day. I got the distinct impression from the workers that they felt I didn't understand the expectations of the job. The job is not yet complete with a few auto-vents yet to be installed. Although I haven't paid more than $700 on the agreement to date, I feel I am way overcharged for the quality of work performed.

I have a yearlong protection plan with them so I use them year round. It is a very reputable company. They are insured and they guarantee their work. They are a big national company so they are trustworthy. I plan to continue using them.

They are very reliable and their overall service is excellent. I would use them again in the future.

I don’t have any problems with them; they do what they need to do. I think their pricing is reasonable. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.

They have been very good. We have someone who comes out quarterly to spray and check the perimeter. They charge us every quarter. They are very reliable. We have known the gentleman who comes out every time for years. He will always let us know right away if he sees something unusual. He does not over sell and try to push services on us or say “oh looks like you have termites”. He just tells us to have the guy come out and check for termites yearly. He is like a friend of ours now. My husband and he talk the same talk. He is very friendly and I really feel like he is looking out for us. His punctuality is not an issue because he really does not have to get in the house. They do call beforehand and tell us that somebody will be in the area.
