RVA Restoration

The service was really good. They came to work after the previous company implicated damage. They were amazing. They were available to work and they took of everything. They kept me track and they were very vocal if something comes up. They're the best contractor I've work with.

Coming home to a soaked house after vacation was terrible. We had no idea what to do. I’m so glad we called RVA Restoration; they responded so quickly and got a team to our house within an hour even though it was 8pm. Chris, Jesse, and the crew were so helpful and supportive; they explained how everything would work and turned a stressful situation into a manageable one. We really appreciated their attention to detail and professionalism. They always picked up the phone when we called. They also worked with our insurance to get everything covered, which was awesome since we had no experience with water damage before. Our insurance adjuster also thought RVA was great to work with. They cleared out and dried out our home quickly, and applied anti microbial solution so that mold wouldn’t grow, which it hasn’t! We are so thankful to the whole team!

They did a fantastic job, very timely and always top of it. Everyone in the team they are very gracious, professional. They make sure that they did everything was good before they left. They asked what else needed to be done. Flexible, meticulous, very happy with Kyle the project manager, He makes sure that everything was looks good.

Not acceptable. First, appointment made for RVA Restoration to come to my home to see the project we had in mind, but the co-owner (Mike Ford) did not show up. I had to get off work early in order to be there for the appointment. I called and he stated he didn't know he had the appointment with us, so we decided to give them another chance and rescheduled the visit. We worked with Mike for over a month getting the drawings sketched out, picking out fixtures/other items needed to establish a quote. This process was lengthy, but we hung in there and finally got a quote which we accepted. At the time of making the deposit the first week of November 2017, Mike stated the company was at a slow period and ready to get started. He stated the project would take approximately 5 weeks to complete. We paid the deposit and didn't hear anything for 4 weeks. I got a call from the Mosaic Tile asking if we were still interested in the products we selected - they were concerned because so much time had passed. I called RVA Restoration to inquire and was told work would start soon. The application for the building permit took a long time because the process was not started in a timely manner. The drawings we agreed on with Mike were inaccurate for the project to proceed which further delayed the start. No physical work started until the week before December. It is currently April 18, 2018 and the project is still no completed. The project manager has not been well organized. Some of the contractors who have come out to do the work have also complained about the lack of coordination and the poor timing of the project. The contractors that have come out have actually performed quality work, but we have had some no-shows (people calling in sick on Mondays and some simply not showing up on the day we were told they would be there). I would recommend some of the people who did the actual work. Mike told us in the beginning that he would come back out to help with design of the bathroom tile in the shower and around the sink, but we have not seen or heard from him since he took our deposit. The contractor who did the tile work stated it was not his job to design the project (RVA restoration should have done this before he arrived), but since there was no plan, he helped us to move things along. The wood flooring was no done properly the first time after we moved out of the house for 3 days for them to accomplish this. They had to come back to re-do which required us to be away from the house again. In the beginning of the project, a large shipment of items to construct a roof was delivered to our home which was meant for someone else. Fortunately, my husband was home to send them away. As I stated earlier, we picked out everything (fixtures, cabinets ect) before the project began, however the cabinets were not ordered until it was actually time to install them causing a significant delay in the project moving forward. We are still waiting on the stair handrails to be stained, floor molding to be installed and lighting fixtures to be hung as well as the final inspection. This has been a very frustrating process. I was so excited at the beginning. Mike seemed to have a lot of energy and excitement for the project. He is a typical salesman who shows interested until he has the contract, then never follows through. Now, I get upset everyday that I go home and see the lack of progress being made. RVA Restoration displays no sense of intensity to complete our project despite being so far off course per the contract. I would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone.
