Description of Work: I "inherited" Richmond Alarm system when we bought this house. In the past 18 years they have NEVER updated or asked to update or inspect the system. When I received the yearly bill and the services had gone up another $35.00, I called. I talked to billing who offered to drop the price $10.00 because I had been a customer for so long. I asked about updating the system and didn't get any type of answer. My husband and I decided to visit the office to speak with them in person. When we arrived we were treated like we were an inconvenience.We were passed around between billing who actually rolled her eyes because we came in person. She handed us off to a salesman who talked with us. He thought $260 was a bargain for services. Why yes we can update your system with a new control box & keypad for $700.00 plus the $260.00 for monitoring. The keypad & control box he so kindly offed to install for us cost $219.00 anywhere else. I figure if the office staff is so cavalier with customer service and the equipment in my house; how would they do in an emergency?Thank goodness I have never had to test their effectiveness! I had since purchased a new security system & monitoring service for less than Richmond Alarms quoted price for a control box & keypad.

+ -1 moreWe find them very helpful. We had a robbery a month or so ago and they changed some things on our system. They were very helpful in accommodating small animals in the house and motion detectors and those things. They’re good about suggesting ways to make sure we have the very best coverage. They are a very good company and we will continue to use them.
Description of Work: We have used Richmond Alarm for a number of years. They came out last month to look at our alarm system. We pay $250 a year.

+ -1 moreCompany is willing to negotiate on the price of the equipment. Installation went exactly as described. Monitoring service also works as described. We have accidentally set the alarm off several times. As part of the monitoring they check the phone line connection weekly and monitor the battery life of the wireless equipment they installed. Would highly recommend.
Description of Work: Installation of alarm system in my home: 4 door sensors, 1 motion sensor, 2 glass breakage sensors, and two keypads. I also pay an additional $300 per year for their alarm monitoring service.

+ -1 moreTwo really kind, knowledgeable men installed our alarm. They were courteous and cleaned after they were done. They explained how the alarm worked. It was just as they described in the estimate. I have had one incident when a sensor was tripped and the central monitoring people called me. It worked just as they described. I would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: They installed an alarm system which we now own into our 2100 sq. foot private home. This included sensors on all the windows, the two entry doors, a motion detector and two key pads.

+ -1 moreWe were pleased with the alarm they installed. Although we don't get the monitoring system they offer but we can when we get ready. They didn t call harassing us to sign on and we still feel safe using the system as is and it works just fine. They explained our system to us and answered our questions. We will use them for monitoring when we are ready.
Description of Work: They installed an alarm system on my 2 story, 2 bedrooms and a loft.

+ -1 moreWhen I was in need of a monitoring service I called around to check references and price and Richmond alarm seemed best on both. I have never had any alarms go off so I really don t know how quick they respond but I've heard they are great.
