Owner Mr. Kemp requested final payment before work was done, said they only had to clean up. When they returned, they still had painting to do. A few days later, the trim paint began to peel. Company had neglected to prime over oil paint before applying latex paint. Mr. Kemp returned a couple of weeks later to repair but did not follow directions of Benjamin Moore representative; he lightly sanded and added more latex paint to the problem. We were in litigation through April 21, 2009. He ran up my lawyer's fees by having his lawyer call her frequently, had my first judgment overturned on a technicality, insisted I had paid too much for the repair ($3,950 for 100 hours of sanding, Kilz priming, and repainting of both trim and walls [disturbed by the sanding]), and pushed for a reduced settlement of $2,000, which he never attempted to pay.
Description of Work: Company painted 3 bedrooms, including ceilings, wall, and trim. Company wrote in contract that it would repair damaged walls and caulk as needed prior to painting. It also stated in contract that they would prime walls.
