J&M Moving Services

Two movers arrived at my house. I was already packed of my personal belongings and started to move some of my personal belongings to my new address before the actual moving date. They requested I give them a tour of the house as to what exactly they will be loading onto their van. They brought their own packing material to secure large and fragile items. The move itself was still in the same zip code. They arrived at my new residence and I gave them a tour as to which items would go in each room/location. The two movers unloaded their truck which took them less time than loading the truck; about 1/2 the time. The move was very smooth and nothing that I packed was broken during the move. Since I was paying by credit card, I had to call the owner to make the payment over-the-phone. Overall, the move was a very smooth process.

They arrived on time; they called ahead to let me know they were en route. Met me at the storage unit & carefully loaded antique furniture. When we arrived at the house, they unloaded the antiques + furniture from another truck and placed it in the house. The floors had been refinished and they helped put felt under everything. They moved a piano back in place & the fridge without scratching the floors. They helped me get the beds set up. No marks on the furniture, the walls or the floors. They worked solid--no breaks, no slacking. I am VERY happy.

I contacted J&M via Angie's list and Mr. Mosley returned my call promptly. He scheduled the work efficiently and his team of 3 people arrived on time to begin the job. They called in advance to let me know they were on the way to our home. The team was very professional and took great care with all our recording & musical equipment. I would definitely use J&M Movers again if the need arose.

Our appointment was set for 1:00. After an hour went by with no word from them, we called the owner who assured us he would have a team of movers contact us shortly. The movers finally arrived after 2:30, over an hour and a half late. They were very careless and rough when dealing with the washer & dryer. We were afraid it would be dented before reaching it's destination. As soon as they left our home, we called and made our payment via credit card over the phone. Upon the movers' arrival at our cousin's home, they showed a complete lack of professionalism. The washer & dryer couldn't fit through the doorway to the laundry room. This could have easily been fixed by detaching the hoses, etc from the back. The movers refused to do so, stating they required payment. Mind you, this payment had already been made by us. If J & M had a more efficient way of handling payment, perhaps their employees would be a bit more professional. We were giving this washer/dryer to a dear cousin, so for them to demand payment on her end was inappropriate. She offered to have her son remove whatever prevented them from getting the washer/dryer into the laundry room. The movers still said they needed payment. Our cousin asked them to wait until she called us to clear things up.The washer/dryer was left in the hallway while she went to get her phone. The movers then decide to completely abandon the job, leaving their handtruck on the front porch and, as she said, "peeling" out of her driveway. This is a 75 year old woman and these young men showed a complete disregard and lack of respect for her and the company they work for. The next day, we receive a voicemail from the company, stating that they had not yet been paid for their services. We return the call and remind the owner (I'm assuming) that we had, in fact, paid as soon as the movers had left our house. He claimed that he had "forgotten" that we had paid, although I'm almost positive that he was the person who took the payment over the phone. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Unprofessional in handing the payment and handling the property and dealing with our elderly cousin.

J&M movers were a little delayed in the morning but the movers contacted me ahead of time to let me know they were running behind and said they'd be appx.30 minutes late. The move went as expected and the movers were hustling. They were polite and professional. We didn't have any problems with the move. I'd recommend using them.

The crew showed up on time, and worked very hard and efficiently to get me moved. I certainly felt they went the extra mile to hustle, while taking care to protect my belongings. I would definitely use them again.

We would like to recommend J&M Moving Services. They arrived at our home on time and made an assessment of what we were moving and began their plan. Everything was wrapped securely and moved safely. They took great care with each piece, big or small. The team was professional, courteous and friendly. It was a pleasure work with them and we would certainly use their services again without hesitation.

I was very happy with their service. They responded quickly to my inquiry, scheduled move same day, negotiated price and movers were very professional. They introduced themselves and went to work immediately after being shown what was being moved. They were in and out in less than 20 minutes. I was most impressed with the company and personnel.

Moving is pretty stressful, and this moving crew only added to the stress. These guys don't seem to be professional movers or experienced/trained in moving. Here is the deal: - $400.00 for a professional moving package - Includes a 24-foot moving truck, a three-man crew for three hours - Movers will pad items and protect hardwood floors and carpet during move Here are the problems I ran into: - Movers arrived and mention that the 3 hour includes 1 hour of travel time. So the actual moving is only 2 hours. No where was this important detail mentioned in the deal, including the small text. - Movers only padded items for the first room. After that it looked like most items were not padded, or it was up to the individual movers. - Movers carried night stands, dressers with cabinets not removed, not taped in. Resulting in two dropped drawers. One dropped and made a big dent on our hard wood floor. - Movers created several large nicks and dents in our door frames, due to not padding furniture pieces - There was no oversight from the lead mover. He was mainly in the truck packing things. The other guys were mostly left to do their own thing. - Broke a 5th leg of a TV stand They guys did work very hard. But this is a review of the company/owner which should have provided better training/supervision.

It only took them an hour and we had room to spare! I would definitely use them again if I ever need moving services!

The crew and the whole process was very professional. I would definitely use and recommend them again. The crew was very friendly and worked continually, right through lunch. I bought 4 hours, and ended up using an additional 2, at the quoted price of $175 per hour. One thing people should realize, is that the crew will use 1 hour for travel before they get to you, so you really have 3 hours of "moving" time. Overall, this move would have cost me hundreds more, if I hadn't used the Angie's List deal. It's a great deal!!

They were able to complete the move of the armoire on the same day that I called and were prompt and professional. Didn't bang my walls or my furniture. Thank you for great service.

The service provided was good. The guys they sent were polite, professional, and they took care of my belongings better than I expected. They move my 2600sqft home in 4 hours. I would absolutely use them again but I think I will not go through Angies List to so. I purchased a coupon for 4 guys for 4 hours for $500. Once the job was done they told me that I had to pay a travel cost of $175. This was mentioned no where in the coupon I purchased from Angie's list and when I called them about it, they put the blame on J & M movers. No, the blame is strictly with Angie's list that they didn't inform me of that when I purchased the coupon. The travel charge makes sense as this is standard in the industry. Make sure you know about all fees before proceeding with coupons.

We hired J&M to help us with an in-town move (~5 miles). We had our bedroom furniture and about ten medium sized boxes. They sent two movers and it took about 2.25 hours from start to finish. Pros: (1) very polite movers, (2) arrived on time, (3) fair price Cons: (1) damaged furniture, (2) damage not reported to me by movers The movers took a chunk out of the leg of my dresser. The length of the damage is 1-2 inches long and about 1/3 the thickness of the leg. The bottom line is that this damage had to have come from a sizeable crash/bang and the movers did not report the damage to me. I didn't see it until the next day because it was the side of the dresser that faces the wall. I did contact the owner to report the damage and he requested that I send a picture. I never followed up because I plan to replace the furniture within a year. Therefore, I can't be sure about what the outcome would have been. Of note, we were originally quoted $450 for the move. This was $150 an hour for labor and a "standard" $150 charge for travel. The owner agreed to charge a flat rate given the short distance of the move and relatively little amount of items to be moved.

The team of 5 were excellent! On time, professional, focused on making sure all my stuff was placed in the right room.

Although this was one of their smaller jobs, Antwon, Dominique, and Chris were very professional, polite, and exceptionally helpful. They were organized and moved quickly. Items were wrapped and managed carefully. This is a locally owned family business and the 3 brothers could not given any better service. Thank you Mark and J & M Moving !!!!! A++++++

I needed someone to move these heavy pieces of furniture and I needed it done in two days from my call. J & M Moving agreed to the short time notice and the price was great. They arrived on time and moved the furniture to my daughter's house, all within one hour. Very professional and I would use them again for sure.
